Awesome what kind of wick? I haven't tried Rayon yet honestly its not been to long ago i went from Eco wool to cotton. but I still use eco wool in my Ithaka but that's about it.

Weeeeeeell.

Here's the part thats gonna blow a lot of people minds I think.

This is 5 normal spaced wraps of 30 gauge on 3 mm silica lol.

This is why I keep trying to tell people you don't need .2 ohms at a zillion watts, you just need to learn to tune your rig.

yea agreed I haven't used sillica for quite awhile but as I said I do like eco wool in some things I use 28 guage with 5 or 6 wrap No contact coils also for its the easiest to build easiest to maintain IMO build your coil on a screw driver smoosh it down mount it wick it fire it adjust it and your done

Ok this might just be in my head but I think you get denser vapor when you go sub ohm I cant prove it but to me it seems like the clouds are thicker not necessarily bigger but they tend to drop to the floor quicker than lets say if I made a set up at around 1 to 1.5 ohm

I switched from regular cotton balls to rayon a while back and I found it wicks so much better it can actually change the flavor of the juice. I just bought a Vapor Shark DNA40 but I don't have my nickel or titanium yet so I've just been using it with Kanthal so far. Hope to see the new wire next week. Got some KGD cotton for it because I think it will be hard to wick with rayon because you need to squeeze so much rayon in a coil for it to work right and I understand these wires are flimsier than the same gauge Kanthal.

From what I've read and seen in vids Japanese cotton should be as good for wicking as rayon. Once I'm used to my new toys I'll switch everything to this cotton for a while and see how I like it. Whatever happens, I'm set for life for wicking materials

But,
But your face sploded.

( did you forget? 15 months ago 20 watts WAS extreme lol)

We can get decent vapor from almost anything. The higher the power, if it's done right, the faster vapor happens and that changes the whole vape experience. I rarely take longer than 2-3 second drags these days but when I was vaping at 8-10 watts I was always bumping into the 6 (if I remember correctly) second eGo cutoff. I learned to let go of the switch for an instant and hit it again to allow me to continue the drag. That doesn't happen anymore :2cool:. The whole vape experience is different at higher power.

For the folks who want to cloud chase, once they know how to design and make good builds, there is no substitute for power. To put it another way, if someone takes their expertise and builds the best setup they can for making vapor at 50 watts and another one for 75 watts, the higher power will make more vapor for the same length of drag time.

I intentionally changed my juice recipes to make less vapor because I like the higher power vape but I don't want to fog up the family room when we're watching TV

Works for me :)
