Current coil still going strong so maybe it shifted somehow and no more sparking or other shenanigans.
I will wait till my AWG get's to me on Tuesday and build some smaller coils making sure there is enough space for expansion left.
Just to clear it out , the atty wasn't dropping to VW , just showing a different res every 5 minutes. Now is rock solid at 0.12 ohm. vaping the heavy juices like Bobba's Bounty or El Kamino was never that flavourful.
It does do some form of refinement, maybe that is what you were experiencing

So what Ti you recommend , AWG and quality ?
26g Grade 1 Ti. Get mine here:

Pure Titanium Wire - 100% Guarantee - Specific for Jewelry Surgical Gr – Unkamen Supplies

6 spaced wraps on a 6-32 machine screw will get you .20- .21 ohms on a STmini with rock solid performance. Never has jumped out of tc. Flavor is off the chain at 40w and 480-530° depending on juice type. Don't forget to wick your STmini very heavy for peak flavor and wicking longevity.

Good luck,
Cig

Got my sub tanks working rock solid...... Just sayin :p
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

Guess I might be lucky too, 1st go building on my subtank with nickel build, only been running it for 24 hours, but so far it has not missed a beat, it has stayed rock solid at 0.09ohms since I installed it, not jumped out of temp control, just good flavor and vape :)

What degree do you run on that?

Newbie question...can you dry burn a nickel coil and how do you do it?
I dryburned mine once before quickly switching to Ti, which I also dryburn. Pulse untill it just reds up, rinse and repeat until clean. With Ti that usually takes 3 or 4 pulses and rinses to get the gunk to break free. In any case, whether Ni or Ti I blow on the coil(s) immediately after pulsing to cool them quickly so they don't deform or develope excessive oxides on the wire surface.

When I went to dry burn the coil I kept getting the atomizer low message so I'm guessing there was something wrong with the coil so I just pulled it out. I'll rebuild...
I rewicked once but it was such a pain to get the old wicking out without mangling the coil, it's easier for me to just make new.

Dryburning has to be done in the VW mode. If your coil res is less than .15 ohms you won't be able to dryburn because .15 is the lowest usable res in VW mode. I dryburn Ni and Ti at 20-25w in the vw mode but then again my coils were greater than .15 ohms.

That's what happened then...the coil was at .12 ohm.. And the coil wasn't distorted, just black. I ran 2 of them through an ultrasonic cleaner. One came out shiny, like new, the other..black still.

So a couple of things. I started having issues with it jumping out of Nickel mode on my dual coil build on the Zephyrus I'd been using with the eVic, it was very annoying. No disasters though, that is what happens when your build is around .07 ohms. Secondly, the vapor production on the dual coil build was less than I was wanting, so I finally moved the Zephyrus over to my IPV3 Li at first, and now I have it on my IPV4. Works much better with those devices. I put my Lemo with a single coil build on the eVic and it works just fine with that build. So apparently, whatever scheme Joytech uses for the TC fails when it comes to dual coils.

Today same story, redone the coil at 0.14 worked fine then keeps coming up as 0.12. If I leave it locked at 0.14 it will stop working until I unlock and remove atty for reset. I will give it a try with Ti next and if it's the same I will just give up on TC.
vape is way too hot for my taste anyways.
If it's vaping too hot, the .14 isn't the right ohms.....the .12 is, its refining. Lock it in the lower ohms
