Just another reason I think built in battery mods have an edge in safety.

Say you have a 75w, 100w, ect mod that can take any 18650 and you put a 10 amp battery in you can have some major overloading going on. At least with a built in battery you know they are rated at the maximum power of the device. And it takes away some of the user error a new vaper could encounter.. :2c:

I'm running my stainless .81, single coil only, at 45w & 300-340°f in ti mode with Rayon. 310 is a pretty good middle ground

For stainless I found the range to be from 280-340°f in ti mode.

Edit- I'm going to confirm cold ohms and reset atty.

My first ss coil as referenced above.
.81 Rayon Wick

I have a new coil on my backup FEV that I just wicked, its drilled to 3mm.

.80ss430 in ti mode vaping it at 330°f right now with a new Rayon Wick.

.80 ohms cold and holding. Range for me 260-340 power lung. I'd vape it at 300-310. 340 is about the max i'll go, with a power lung is clean and doable at 45w. 260° is like an ego to me. 280s not too bad a mild vape.

I blew up my Evic!!! Well, so I thought. I have a finicky STmini that sometimes jumps out of tc in Ti mode. This is the same STmini mentioned above with the new twisted 430ss build. It started misbehaving so I wound up a new twisted 430ss coil. It fired perfect in power mode so I flipped over to Ti mode. It read .20 ohms but when I fired it my mod shut off and would not turn back on. Ooooh dreaded darkness!!!! I thought it had blown up for sure but wondered if the display would turn on if I plugged it in to the charge cable; it did and came back to life. A Frankenstein style resurrection!!!!

OK found something..

Today the new ss coil dropped out of ti mode. Still at .8.

What I found... When I first got stainless I fired in wattage mode and watched the resistance climb from .8 to 1.4 firing at 40w at the time. I wanted to see the resistance change.

I make a habit to check the VW ohms reading first then unscrew, move to tc mode screw down and then lock that to ti mode and then test fire in VW mode at appropriate wattage for the wire.

So it flipped out of ti today and now in VW mode it does not show the res climbing at all. I unscrewed a few times, powered off and on tried VW mode, ti mode, somewhere in there it started showing the rest climbing in VW mode again..

Now it holds in titanium mode..

So I wonder if it glitches and doesn't track the resistance climb.

I have not reallly had this issue before. One time on ti that was a loose leg. Its not major cause the ss vapes great at 45w in VW mode. My first ss coil did this also and then stayed in ti without an issue. I assume this one will be fine now too.

Yes, same thing was happening to me with twisted 430ss on all three of my VTs. It would jump out of Ti mode into vw and would not read res change while firing. I assumed it was just a defective stm because the problem followed the atty and it's the stm I had probs with before. Evics no likey 430ss?

It seems fine now.
Last one has worked for a week after its little glitch.

I wouldn't say its stainless wire that's the problem. As other have reported it jumping with other wire.

Don't know the exact cause but now know its something to do with it recognizing res change all together I believe.

A removal of the atty a few times and a restart seemed to clear it up.

I found that letting the atty cool for a while worked but I still had to clear the res and let the evic reread the res in ti mode. I'll try 430ss on a diff atty to see if it works more reliably. Fwiw, my .20 ohm Ti builds never jump.

I have seen other reports with ss having a bit of an issue when twisted on other mods though.... Being stainless it desn't oxidize like other wires. There are plenty of reports on ti having problems.. By some people. Granted not ti fault.

To me its seems like its a mod glitch because there's no way the resisrance properties of stainless change. Possibly the evic just gets confused for some reason with these different wires.. At any rate I stand by its just a glitch, cause its been fine ever since.

Fwiw, I will only be using stainless at this point. A glitch or two is worth it for me. It vapes exactly the same in VW mode.

I've had my VT for months, been loving it. I am thinking of getting a Sigelei 150w (non TC). But considering that I'd also have to get: 2x 18650s (HG2s or 25R5s), and a charger (prolly LUC v2). For the money I'd spend on the 150w, batts, and charger .. I could easily get 2 more VTs.

I mainly just vape with my Velocity around 0.5ohm (26ga NiChrome-80), anywhere from 30w to 38w (very rarely 42.5w) depending on the ejuice. Also depending how much I vape, it lasts me about a day and a half.

tl;dr - Should I get 2 more VTs (I'd have one of each color), or spend the extra $ for a Sigelei 150w, batts, and charger?

If you don't need the power, then don't see the point in spending it on the Sig, they do make good mods, but it will be larger and cost you more, and will have no TC if you ever wanted to try it out.

I have a lot of newer mini mods, sig 75watt, IPV D2 and the evic mini, but my full size evic vt is still in daily rotation, I have the yellow/orange and just love the looks of it.

    :2c: suggestion:

get your couple 18650's & charger

spring for the evic VTC mini

many upgrades + it is upgradeable to 75 watts I hear now...

    jus sayin` :w00t:

Oh yeah, the VT mini. Hmm, I really like my VT for the battery long life, but with the mini & HG2s or 25Rs .. Hmmmmm...

    thinking, just to future proof
and because I am a 100% internal battery puff'r , at this time...

I can't make up my mind, so I might get one of each
    TC60W and VCT mini (+ batts/charger)

I just might go this route .. I do not have a backup MOD .. buuut it would be kool to have one of each color VT ;)

Sorry I can't determine from the information provided what's going on.

Does it turn on, what does it do when you fire it, what types of coils, what ohms does it read in VW, does the ohms climb when your in VW mode and fire it. Is it locked. Ect.?
My coil is ok..ohm reading is ok..it seems like its not firing even when i change atomizer..its juz keep moving to vw mode..

It should still fire in VW mode. Just push the button with enough wattage for the coil.

What kind of wire? What mode are you trying to use for said wire.

You need to read the ohms in VW mode while you test fire it. If its temp control type wire the ohms should climb as power is applied.
Im using nickel the ohm is 0.21..im using temp control evic vt..im try to change temp nickel mode..but one sec it will go to wattage mode..anf i feel its not firing up..

Ok, in wattage mode it should still fire at the wattage its set to. It sounds like it does fire but you don't get vapor cause its set too low.. You don't want to vape nickle in VW mode Anyway, so having wattage mode all the way down is good using nickle incase it jumps. ...

Test Fire it in VW mode and watch the ohms.. You will probably need to turn the power up to something that will heat the coil, like 20w maybe.... Do the ohms raise when firing???
