Ok, in wattage mode it should still fire at the wattage its set to. It sounds like it does fire but you don't get vapor cause its set too low.. You don't want to vape nickle in VW mode Anyway, so having wattage mode all the way down is good using nickle incase it jumps. ...

Test Fire it in VW mode and watch the ohms.. You will probably need to turn the power up to something that will heat the coil, like 20w maybe.... Do the ohms raise when firing???
I tried like u say..the ohm is not raising...

If the ohm is not raising with nickle then that is what we have seen before. We were just discussing it the other day here. Look back one page.

Some sort of glitch it appears, where it doesn't detect ohm change.

What I can suggest is taking atty off power it down, power up, hit fire button for no atty message, power off, power on. Press fire button for message, Screw on atty then try to fire in ni mode. If it jumps try to fire it in wattage mode at low watts to get some light vapor production. Watch the ohms at some point you will see them start to raise properly. The you can go to nickle mode and it will hold.

This has happened to me 3 times with stainless which is no big deal with ss. I did the above and it returned to normal operation in a short time.

All this of course is barring any problem with your coil!! Half the time it jumps it is a coil problem!

But we identified that your ohms are not changing like they should. So you have the same issue we did. In both confirmed cases we are still vaping the vt in temp control right now.

The last couple of days .. my VT has been giving me odd battery/charge information. I've been charging it on my USB 3.0 port, and seems to stop at 1/2 way. If I unplug & replug, it starts to charge again, showing 99%~100%. When I vape, it goes down to around 50% .. and when I start to charge, it shows charging at 50%.

I vaped it tonight at 100% (50%), and the display went down to 1% or less, and said low battery after like 4 hours. I have not been vaping all day, and I usually get 1.5 ~ 2 days of vaping normally.

I try to keep it all clean of ejuice and what not when I re-wick/rebuild .. could some ejuice have leaked inside & is messing with it? Now I am thinking I need a backup VT, or VTC mini .. or a Sigelei 150w.

As of right now, since it told me low batt, it is charging .. like 5%~10% and ticking up to 100% like a normal charge. I can't find my tool kit which has 20 different screw driver tips, so I can disassemble it, and use electronic/contact cleaner all on the insides. I think it needs a T5 driver to take it appart.

edit1: Puff counter says: 37,414 at the moment, and timer 23,464

edit2: also the usb mini on the VT is a little bit loose.

If the problem is reoccurring try a different charger and cable first. If that doesn't fix it you can carefully disassemble it and reflow the solder joints on the mini usb connector. I have had to do that on other mods but so far my three VTs have been flawless.

I am going to try my wall plug charger (5v, 2.0A) tonight when I goto bed. Right now, it seems to be charging on my USB 3.0 .. but if I let it sit for 5 min? I don't see any charging animation, until I click/tap the fire button.

That's normal. The screen does turn off while charging after a few minutes.

Edit: wait, maybe not, testing now......

About 2 weeks ago I noticed that my battery indicator line looked pixelated instead of solid but I didn't pay it much attention. Last week it was low so I charged it as usual. I took a couple of puffs and it appeared to shut off. It wouldn't turn back on so I plugged it back into the charger. It showed the battery as empty so I charged it some more. That night when I took it off the charger it appeared full but when I took a couple of puffs it went dead again. It wouldn't turn back on except when plugged in and the same thing keeps happening. So it looks like my beautiful yellow/orange VT is dead. :( It was nice while it lasted.

I'm pretty sure it's from a somewhat leaky tank of mine letting juice get inside the 510. :grr:

All the more reason for me to find my tool kit and take it appart, and hose it down (so to speak) with my electronic/contact cleaner.

    thinking, just to future proof
and because I am a 100% internal battery puff'r , at this time...
I can't make up my mind, so I might get one of each
    TC60W and VCT mini (+ batts/charger)

I've been debating those as well as the D2. The VTC Mini wins on screen, IDK if the TC60W supports Ti and I already have another IPV product. Is the VTC Mini made of metal? I like the TC60W puts the 510 in the center of the mod top.

Update, the numeric display turns off after charging begins but the battery animation continues to be displayed much longer. Over 15minutes on mine and maybe until it reaches full charge.

I have seen some irratic charging patterns that have always turned out to be cable related. Some cables won't get it charged properly. Usually the cable shorts toward the end where it bends. The vt doesn't seem to charge well at 1/2 amp or less.

I have an app that I tested my cables and wall adapters with. Its called Ampere on the android store. It will show the charging rate (minus the discharge) allowing you to identify the combination that charges fastest.

FWIW, Brake cleaner makes a spectacular contact cleaner.and will not harm most plastics. It's waaaay cheaper than contact cleaner and works great imo. Contact cleaner has lubricants added for switches and trim pots but is not necessary for cleaning anything but those aforementioned devices.

Good luck bro, let us know what you find works to resolve your charging issues.

FWIW, This thread stays dead because, I believe, how few probs peeps have with the Evic VT60.

Now on to this, the D2 is a feature-less device. Shoot, the thing won't tell you anything about your build, " while vaping". It won't even show the climbing res of a tc coil in vw mode, an essential feature imo. The VT mini or Eleaf TC60w would be a better choice but the Apollo Reliant would be my choice for single 18650 devices. It tells all about your build "while vaping" and has adj tcr so you can run whatever wire you choose. What more could you ask for in a single 18650 device?

Spend the few extra bucks for the Reliant imo. The only reason I don't have one now is I'm trying to win one on ecf!!!!

Yeah the evic is pretty good, its not a sigelei but it was a good deal for the technology. I've been happy with it.

I am still having some issues with the ss340 (unkmn) jumping out of ti and then not reading res change occasionally. I'm not sure if its the mod or the wire or an atty issue. I would lean towards the wire being the problem.

Rebooting seems to resolve it most times.

I just don't see how the wire could stop raising its resistance though. Maybe it gets to some point where its not detectable for some reason. I would think a wires res change would be a constant.

I know my legs are tight.. I may have to open up and see if there's any juice sitting where it shouldn't be.

What could cause the res reader to fault like this is what I don't know.

    Good News Everyone!

I used my LG 1A charger, and it fully 100% charged.

Not a Sig? No, but it is tough enough. It may just be that the 430ss is too low a tcr for the Evic to recognize. Basically just seeing it as a fixed tcr ie. (kanthal) I've given up on using 430ss. Too many errors.
