I bought an evic VT almost a year ago. The positive 510 contact in mine has always been stuck, despite literature online claiming it is spring-loaded. If you review the thread, it was a relatively common issue. No amount of poking/prying has fixed it.
Although it adds a little height to the mod, if I want to use an atty that has a positive 510 that isn't quite long enough, I'll use a Kepler 510 heatsink since it has a two-way telescopic positive on its 510.

I looked it up and saw Gearbest actually has them in stock in their EU warehouse so I'll order one in case I need one in the future, thanks for the tip!

So how's your VT holding up after a year of use?

It is a tank, though it has received little use over the last six months, when the VTC mini became my goto regulated (I am a bit of a mech head).
I'm actually giving the VT and an 8ml kanger subtank mega to a friend tonight so he can try and quit smoking.

That is good to hear, best of luck to your friend!

How do you use that, just insert it in the 510 connection of the mod before you screw the tank on?

yepper...

it's just a spacer that fills the gap
metal 'contact' in the center
insulated on the outside
it works great, safe, & cheap... :headbang:

;)

Gotcha, I guess I'll be needing one or two of those too then :)

Would you happen to know a different place that sells them & ships international? They don't seem to except paypal at Madvapes and I don't use credit cards.

I did a quick search on ebay but couldn't find it there.

well back when they were all the rage, nobody seemed to find another seller of those...
I found ONE other, from a NewYorkVapes store, but they were ALWAYS out-of-stock (don't remember the www)
so all I can say is madvapes is the only one I know if... :(

wish you luck

That's too bad, oh well, I might send them an email to see if we can work something out.

Cheers.

Cuboid mini also looks nice.

The Pico also gets a lot of love from what I gather.

I'm massively bias of course, since I just bought a VT 3 weeks ago, but it guess it depends on what you want plan do with it. If you don't need SS TC mode, like the large build in battery, super handy rocker switch, easy to use menu and stunning looks,

, I don't see why not. It is a really nice device imo. I am a total noob to these things in general let alone TC by the way, but it is very easy to use.

Mine has some quirks but we still get along great and I hope she'll be with me for a long time.

I have decided to get the original first and the mini sometime later. I quit smoking, I can afford both! ;) I just can't pass up the super sexy original, the mini is so meh in comparison.

Do you guys have any recommendations for alternative tanks? I'm looking at a bunch but my eyes glaze over with confusion sometimes... So many different types! I usually use 75% vg juice. I've ripped the silica wick out of my tiny eroll/ego attys and replaced it with ss mesh so I'm not a TOTAL noob to atomizer rebuilding, just mostly a noob. As I understand it now, the atomizers in the stock tank only last 2 weeks or so. I'd prefer to have something that lasts at least a month, if possible.

Thank you all for your help, it is greatly appreciated!

Will this be your first tank?

I chose the Kanger Toptank as my first one because it came with several stock coils as well as an RBA deck so I could try wrapping my own coils if I felt up to it. But as it turns out I went straight for the RBA and never looked back so in hindsight I could have just gotten a dedicated RTA instead.

It's a pretty solid tank though, does MTL as well as DL hits (somewhat restricted according to some, but I don't have much to compare it with) and has been completely leak proof (at least with the RBA) apart from one instance that was clearly my own mistake.

I use max VG juice by the way (about 80%, the rest is distilled water and flavoring)

I never tried the Mega One tank that you can get in a kit with the VT personally so I can't comment on that one.

From what I Googled, the RBA is the same as the SubTank Mini. IMHO, the RBA+ from Kanger has a tight airflow, also the 510 pin is short .. like 1~2mm shorter than the OCCs. I was getting inconsistent readings when I used my STm & RBA because the 510 pin didn't have a good connection. But a tiny ring of NiCr80 helped.

Here is a side-by-side pic of my RBA+ (note it has a tiny 28ga NiCr80 spacer ring) and an OCC.

And here is a look at the airflow holes .. clearly the RBA is smaller.

Wow, that hole is huge!

Yeah, they are the same RBA decks. There's also the plus V2 version though, it has much bigger juice holes but I'm not sure if the airflow is different on that one. I do find it difficult to wick the V2, but that's probably just my inexperience.

I'll take some side by side pics of the Plus and Plus V2 tomorrow.

Sorry, I'd almost forgotten about this:

Plus on the right, Plus V2 on the left.

I couldn't find any other differences than the obvious one though, airflow hasn't been altered on the latest version.

And one more to keep the thread interesting ;)

My newer, second unit has been acting strangely as of late. The resistance keeps jumping around, forcing the volts to change while in wattage mode. I checked my atomizers, switched tanks, etc but it keeps doing it. Even placed the same tank on the older Evic VT and it's smooth sailing with that one.

I plan on giving it a good look over and cleaning over my days off, but it kind of bums me out to discover this. Guess I've been lucky to date with failure rates of mods purchased, but still is depressing.
