Got my aurora bft modded to accommodate any 510 bf atty and for blind squonking.....just a little bit of trimming and drilling, a 16g needle, and an oring inside the 510 to block off the side air holes. I will probably trim down the stock beauty ring to pretty it up a little, but it doesn't need to be pretty to use it.

Finally got the cyclone bf atty....now it's time for some hemp and coil :D

Hey BJ...bapgood sent me some of this Hemp Fiber. This is not your ordinary Hemp. Honestly, I tried all the other hemp wick materials and while most wicked and vaped really well, they never played nice with my peppermint ejuice. I always had a slight undertone of woodiness that threw off the taste.

But this stuff is fantastic. I have only set it up so far in a dripper, KFL and Reo, but its working so much better than cotton. No woodyiness! What is really noticeable is the consistency of the vape. Cotton starts very bright and tails off depending on the wetness and age of the wick. This stuff stays even all the time.

Here is close up comparing a cotton ball to the cleaned Hemp Fiber (on the right). The Hemp fibers are much more distinct and less fuzzy.

Great Find!

.100% Degummed Hemp Fiber Sliver ... Would this stuff be the same?

Wanted to try this hemp fiber but the shipping is $57 to the UK..... :(

no it is not the same....I have that sliver, I used it a long time ago inside SS mesh. There is a co-op in planning for 1 oz of the correct hemp fiber.:)

Glassed RSST insert removed, Ni sleeved hemp fiber wick, nano 28g dragon 1.3 ohms on a small bed of hemp. The Ni sleeve is pushed into the large wick hole base.

BJ, a couple of questions. I have the hemp fiber coming from Hemp Traders, what kind of detergent/soap did you use to clean it? How long did you boil it and how often did you change the water? And how did you dry it to get it fluffy again? I have gone back thru the posts and can't see that you have explained that, sorry if I missed it.
One other question, what is Ni that you used here? I don't understand. I have an AGA-T2, an arrow, and a Doc Dave mirco mini, but just not a fan of the gennie stainless steel wick and wire. I have tried micro coils in them with cotton but I find that the cotton burns pretty quickly in them. I use micro coils and cotton in my drippers just fine but would love to love these gennies. Thanks

If I could offer here, I'm using hemp fiber on my gennies with a slightly larger coil ID (5/64). I thread the fiber from the tank through the coil, & wrap the coil from the top, seems to work really good for me and does not burn like cotton.

BJ you didn't try very hard

From the hemp co-op interest thread

Rewicked and coiled.....28g...1.7ohm...all hemp

A 5/64" drill bit from the little Dremel drill bit set work perfectly for the Russian. It slides in tight! and stops when it hits the size scribing, which kind of makes it nice.

Anyway I took pics this time....so you can grade me :D

Hi All.......

BJ requested that I post these here for posterity since they may well get lost once the co-op closes down.

My first attempt at a VNH build (verical nano hemp). Note I screwed up the coil badly, I should have reversed it.

Not the prettiest, but it was my first shot at it. Next time I will reverse the leads so the bottom one is the Positive.

A few fibers got in between the coils and into the middle, trying it this way before I tear it down and start over.

First few hits are harsh, then it went dry. Setting it aside for a while to allow the fiber to fully hydrate.

This was my 2nd attempt, much prettier but it flooded badly.
OK, 2nd try

10 wraps of 29g around a #53 bit, 1.5 ohms.

Wrapped some fiber around the coil:

Finished stuffing:

Also filled form the bottom this time. Read somewhere that filling from the top leads to trouble.

Hitting a lot better, will give this a shot and see how it breaks in.

Thanks BJ!

This was hairbrained idea I had to use hemp sliver in the juice channels, didnt work!

OK, 3rd build:

Started out by laying some hemp sliver in the crack between the two terminal blocks. A long enough piece that would lay in the supply channels when I put it all back together, then trimmed off the excess. The hemp sliver is about the consistency of hair, so it lays nice and flat and straight.

I used 9 wraps of 28g to get my traditional sweet spot of 1.3 ohms.

Then I built it as before, only I packed it tighter with more raw fiber.

SO far, no flooding, but it also isnt the "knock your socks off" hit I got off the last build. Need to give it some time to settle out.
