Thank you for the kind words.

I'm hoping to make Genisis experts out of everyone that reads my posts so that we can all have the best vape possible and stay away from the analogs.

This is my inspiration and motivation. My small part to help my fellow man or woman. :)

Lord gives great advice. One modification I've made to my personal setup is - when lighting the juice on fire - I never let it burn itself out. I found that when I did this, I noticed the wick getting red hot. When this happens, it actually burns off anything that's been 'cooked' in place. So, I let it burn for a couple seconds and when I notice it starts to go out on it's own, I blow it out, let it sit for a second, redrip, light, repeat process for a total of five times.

This completely solved all wick shorting issues I had.

I'm here lol. I played with it again till like 3am, and though it seems to be getting a bit better, I haven't had one of those delicious puffs yet that make me feel like all this is worth it. My gf already thinks I'm nuts blow torching mesh all night lol

My work is much tidier then before, but same results. Even when I have the coils glowing evenly and have juice on the wick, it's still harsh and metallic and lacking vapor production. I know there is a breaking in period, but whatever I'm doing is just killing the flavor.

I'm trying to track down a local genisis nut to to me the way of the katana Kung fu.

Chinner - I held mine over the bathroom sink and tilted-burned, tilted-burned like forever to get the wick coated, broken in, whatever you want to call it, then vaped it for 2 days doing sort of double draws. A lot of drawing on it and just exhaling the smoke straight out, to get some use in it.
Not sure if that will help, but it's what I did .... :)

I believe I know what is going on now. It sounds like you got one of the ones with the nylon insert holding the wick in the wrong place. With the cap on and the tank cover off, look at there the air inlet hole lines up. If it is in front of the electrodes, you will need to put a thin o-ring on the threads under the cap. You can do a prettier fix but first check that before we go into taking your Katana apart to fix the wick alignment.

For the Katana to work best, the wick needs to be directly in front of the air inlet hole.

I would have to agree with lorderos on this. Make sure your air inlet hole, wick, and electrodes look like this...

O O
|
*

Since I don't have a picture - maybe that will help. O represents electrodes, | represents wick, * represents airflow inlet hole. Sorta looks like a "Y" if you look at it at an angle.
