Hey guys, V3 owner, currently running @ 8 watts and having some issues with vapor production. Air hole is aligned properly, wick is solid 400 mesh as mac suggested on his video not touching bottom of tank. Using 65/35 pg/vg. Any tips?

You need more heat or you need to hold the button for a few seconds to allow it to heat up before the first drag. With a solid wick there is alot of mesh and juice and it takes a while to heat that up. :)

The black AW IC 2600mAh flat tops are about as good as you can do....I think I read about a 3200mAh? somewhere....but not sure if it was protected

The IMRs will outperform the flat tops every time :). The may not last quite as long, but they can deliver 10 amps of current where the flat tops are protected to about 3 or 4 amps which means you cannot get the same wattage from a flat top that you can from an IMR. ;)

Whoa whoa whoa........slow down. Now what do I do? Ez pz Thx for the help.

And lorderos33. Thanks for the co-op n all your time answering questions. Read the thread and am up n running. Forgot to tip when i paid for my tanks so...tip sent sir. For all the tips you've given me.

Thanks Yellowman1972, that was not necessary at all but is appreciated.

For installing the magnets, here is what I did.

Remove the switch and take the screw out that comes in contact with the battery... make sure you hold the switch together as you do you you will need to chase a small spring down, lol.

Take the spring and button out of the swtich and then put the screw back in. Put one magnet in and then take 2 other magnets and stick them together. Test against the other magnet to make sure you are putting these in so that the are pushing away from the other one. Put those on the screw and they should be repelling away from the other one in the switch already. They should push away just enough that the screw is long enough to hold them and have a few threads left so you won't need to hol it all toghether as you do the next step.

Put the bottom of the switch back in and screw the switch back together again.

Now you have a magnetic switch :)

I have been looking at different batteries for my Katana.I for the Panasonic Li-ion NCR18650A , Panasonic CGR18650CH and Panasonic CGR18650CH 18650.Does any one have any experience with these batts?

I stick with the AW IMR. Nothing wrong with the Panasonic at all, the IMR simply outperforms the models you've listed :).

You ladies should mind you're watts as well. It determines just how much vapor you can produce. Without enough watts, it does not matter how low a resistance load you present to the battery and if you present too low a resistance, the battery that cannot supply enough current for the load goes ka-bloowie :)

This has been a public service announcement from lorderos33 ;)

So guys I've been talking to someone who blows glass tubes, and I told him about the dimensions of the katana tube, and asked if he could do it. He is going to see what he can do, if all goes well we have a glass supplier for tubes!

This will be great if he's willing to test fit them, as there were inconsistencies in the order from the UK.

Zens tanks are fused quartz. (glass-ish)
Katana is acrylic, not nearly as fragile.

The quartz is not that fragile either, it was just the first run of the mods, the tanks did not have the edges flame polished so they concentrated all their stresses on the edge of the tanks. The new quartz tanks have flame polished edges and should be far more durable than they were.

The acrylic tanks are still more durable but for glass the quartz should be much better now than it was. I have a few of the flame polished tanks and so far they seem much better in use (and less sharp ;))

Is it just me, or does juice consumption actually decrease when the wick breaks in? I filled up the tank yesterday (10am) and used it all day - and when I got home (9pm) it was a little over half full... and I vaped pretty consistently all day... lol

I find that mine uses more juice once the wick breaks in, b/c once it really starts wicking, I tend to just chief on it non-stop until it needs a refill. Though I must say, and I tend to burn through a lotta juice while trying to break it in! Especially when I turn it upside down and fire it until juice starts to drip out of the wick

no joke rwechsler I have still been playing with figuring out the right siz of wick lately I have been cutting my length of wick right around 45mm long and probly 30 mm wide but I rinse my mesh in instant hot boiling water then finger wipe it dry. then I put juice on it and burnit as soon as the fire goes out I put drops of juice on it to build the oxi and its still so hot it vapes as it coats the wick one end to the other.

ps does anyone have a reference or hookup for a long blunt needled tip for syringes that fit the original hole in the v3 for filling. I modded a needle tip bottle and a different blunt tip needle that fit inside the needle tip bottle needle to extend it so I didn't have to tamper my wick and coil setup when refilling. (due to me liking the longer wick setup for holding reserve juice when I just reef on it like im chuggin a beer.)
