ok lord genesis masters alike I got one for you. I keep getting a short on the bottom of my 5-4 wrap coil between the very bottom last part of the wire that touches the wick to the part that touches the post. it is perplexing me because I ran a setup that rocked for almost 5 weeks straight not much to do but bump the coils around to freshen up the vapor production. now after replacing the wick and coil I have had the "SHORTS" like mad and cannot figure it out.. I am going to try over oxidization on it but the last setup I just burned a dry wick with a torch wrapped a coil on it and juiced it and turned and burned till the shorts went away. this one I burned and quenched with a few burns of juice and its still shorting all over me. I will never give up my genesis because its FRIGGIN amazing but what is going on here? please help

Sure, maybe just a few feet to test it out. I've got over 500' of 32ga A-1 :)

Will do buddy! And maybe you can send me some mesh in exchange :)
In addition to the AYS I got yesterday and the Z-Atty-G I have coming in the next week or 2, I also just swooped a mini hellfire and a line v2, so I'll have lots of genesis atties to start experiment with different setups!

Make sure the distance between the short post and wick is as small as possible and that if there is any excess r wire, try and bend it so it keeps contouring around the wick as much as possible. Please upload a pic of your coil so we can further help you isolate the problem.

PERFECT drawing! Captures exactly what I was trying to explain, thank you so much for posting it :D
It's amazing how drastically you can improve a coil with a few pokes and prods from a screw drive and maybe a tug here and there with some needle nose tweezers!
You mean the wire is like the top picture going to the post? I took a small screwdriver and pushed mine like pic #2 and it cut out any shorts at the top and bottom.

Post is on LEFT, wick is on RIGHT

I've seen this or something similar many times :)

This sounds very much like you have some frays on the outside of your wick that is causing the short. The best way to avoid this is to unroll a bit of the wick and then fold a flap into the wick and roll back over it so any frays will be rolled in the middle of the wick somewhere and the only thing the coil will rub on is a folded edge.

Re-oxidize once you have re-rolled it and the difficult shorts will be gone. :)

Good call lord. I might as well start adding a fold to the end of all my wicks. Can't hurt, right?

awesome feedback! Picture 28.jpgPicture 30.jpgPicture 32.jpg so in the last pic is after I kinda pushed the gap to a sharp angle instead of just an elipse around the wick. Also its a fresh wick and coil so it might break in. After all I was vaping the same setup for 5 weeks so I may have forgotten what its like to break one in. Also I might actually kick my nic level down as in any other ecig hasn't had the TH that this beast boasts. I am trying 7 wraps this go around just to cool the vape and hopefully cut the TH down a little. I have considered trying 36 awg and wrapping 9 coils to see if it hits comparable.. its just really hard to find less than 400 feet of the stuff. all for a trial. lol

So lord, what are your thoughts on the Mini Hellfire? I have one coming in the mail along with a Line v2 and Sturm mod and wanted to hear what you have to say about it.

I have a Line V2 Rick.....I like it....it is an elegant genesis attatched to small GG

I haven't got a Hellfire mini, but just looking at it, it looks like a great little Genni. I am curious how it works because I have read a lot about it on UK Vapers and the maker seems to be a cool dude.

I have my Orion V2.1 coming soon. Should be here any day!! I can't wait to get that one going, everyone seems to really love the Orion.

The Sturm mod I do have though. It's a really well made battery mod, you'll like it a lot I am sure of that! You just have to be sure and no-alox all the threads or performance will be sub-par. :)

your negative post is too high tightened down till the washer part comes down to the white plastic, if you see the original pic from POC when being assembled you see how they are
