lorderos or anyone - so I don't keep saying "tall thingee" and "the short guy" ...... Is the tall post the pos or neg one?
I will assume the short one is the opposite ....
And the "tall thingee" is the negative post

Oh, also ... is the bottom plate of the tank metal? If the wick touches it, will it cause a short? I was cutting the bottom of my wick at a 45, but wasn't really paying much attention to if it was barely touching or not.
Question.
When people are talking about sanding and noaloxing the screws what is the real purpose?
What I mean is are you trying to sand the screws to create unevenness in the screws? If that is the case how coarse should the sandpaper be?
nolax is used for metal and electronics for lubrication, it is also heat resistance, so things don't get stuck like metal threads, people put nolax on electrical item like light bulbs so when it gets hot and burned it doen't stick or get stuck it's a lubricant potrolem gely is also good, same as vasaline. Inportant nolax touching liquid not good only on metal threads, guys if intersted nolax are sold at LOWE's or ebay or Homedepot
nolax is bad tasting so, make sure it doesn't touch liquids or bolts and nuts like posetive or negative connection or you will tast it, and it will be to hard to get rid of the tast. As far as sanding beside scotch guard you can also use water sand paper to clean connection gently 600,800 grid and higher, just to clean connections just make sure sand paper is wet always i hope this helps.
And everybody careful if you want to put nolax on top caps be careful, you will never get that taste out you might want to use vasaline i use it on my gg's no tast at all, try a little and you will see it better than nolax and vasaline $.99 cent for a small bucket at 99 cent store
