I built one but not on a kayfun on Kanger Sub tank. Don't have my VS yet so can't try it still need to clean it up a little but it is the same build I am going to try on my Kayfuns. Here it is

Also got this reply from VapeRev:
Good Morning Pat,

At this time, we have not heard if SvoeMesto will make any changes to the V4 with regards to using NI wire. The Kayfun V4 was designed before NI was introduced to be used with dna 40 boards and was not a concern at the time. From what we understand, is almost all amtomizers fluctuate in performance when using Nickle builds because of the softer material of nickel, also, any atomizer with a spring contact and adjustable 510 does not hold the resistance well with nickel due to the fluctuation in resistance in relation to temperature. Since temp sensing mode is new to the market, many companies have not adjusted for this. If we hear any further information regarding changes to the V4, we will be sure to post it in an EDU video or on Instagram or Facebook. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to ask.

Best Regards,

VapeRev Team

I was looking at the Kayfun earlier, after work, when I made a 1st visit to Ace Vaper (nice selection of juices by the way)
The guy was trying to talk me into a lemo rba and away from the Kayfun.

Hmmmmm what to do, what to do.
For those that don't know, I am planning to get into building but only after a lot of research and recent agreement from my local B&M store in watching him build before he lets me start building

The Lemo is a Kayfun style RTA with a heck of a lot more air-flow. Some of us oldies like our KFL's the way they are. Others want more..

It all depends on what you want.

You know what I don't understand, with all the time the KFL has been out, why can't they make a clone that works as well. I've only tried one and EH Pro supposedly the best and it does work well, flavor is as good but the air flow is less then the real thing which is kind of anemic too. I have one original that is tighter than either one of my others. I can't wait to try the Kanger Sub tank, it is pretty much a Kayfun knock off in RTA mode but it has great air flow. Kind of gigantic also but it is only $45 and very versatile. It's really 3 tanks in one and it pisses me off that Svoe Mesto can't even throw in a couple extra screws and Orings with their V4 for $180 plus they have no plans on changing to accommodate NI200. I also wish they would come up with a kit for the KFL to give it extra air flow, they did do that with the V4 for a price. The cloners are having a hell of a time making a clone of that baby. I still think it is worth it to have a real one even with Kanthal it is fantastic

In my humble opinion, the Kayfun came before the Lemo...
My advice would be to get the Kayfun. Maybe not the Kayfun 4, as it's a little more complex...but the Kayfun Lite series is a wonderful RBA...as evidenced by the large amount of positive threads and reviews on this very forum.
The Lemo, while looked upon in a positive light as well, is something that was modeled after the Kayfun...so it will have its own pitfalls, which may not be as easily solved as it is also a fairly new item...the Kayfun has a legacy, if nothing else.

Cheers Dusty and my boo boo I meant RTA. I like the option of using factory coils or my own.
With my GAS I'll put money on that I end up with both.

Cheers HB. The input from this place/ppl like you, Dusty etc is something I value and does help a lot.

I have several KFs, of differing manufacture. All work well. And one Lemo, which also works well.

If you're wanting to push a lot of watts, the Lemo has more potential airflow, so may be a better choice.

But if you're not in that camp, the KFc's (clones) might be a better choice. As said, a longer history, so more tips around on dealing with any issues.

Conversely, the Lemo comes stock with a pyrex tube, and the KFs are either all stainless, or poly, which can be a problem with some flavors. But taking off the bottom / base ring to adjust airflow is a pain....

Don't get me wrong I love my KFL's thats why I have 3 of them, but with the NI200 wire sometimes they need a little more air I'm told others say they work perfect. Have to wait and see. I love my V4 with Kanthal not even sure if I will try NI with it. I just cleaned it completely and recoiled and rewicked it and if possible it tastes better then when I first got it. If I get another KF it will be a V4 I think. I just love it. The cloners have all kinds of trouble with them and I expected that. I'm waiting for that email that says they are back in stock. I have 5 Provari's and the V4 is great on those I will only have one DNA40 for the time being so I figure 2 atty's for that 1 Kanger and one KFL. I love my Provari's too. I kinda think the KFL is like a Provari in the way they will probably last the rest of my life. I still have a Provari V1 converted to a V2 that works like the day I got it 5 weeks after they came out.

I hear ya on the airflow, I really wish the clones would get their act together.

I got an HCigar KFL clone awhile back that had airflow superior to the authentic, I figure great I'll get a bunch of HCigar clones to keep in rotation. Bought 4, and after opening them up I realized they decided to start making the airhole what looks to be half the size as it was previously. The center pin was also much thicker so the airflow was reduced there as well. Might as well be vaping on an old clearo.

Completely unusable to me as there was nowhere near enough air for the power I vape at, ruined one base by breaking off a drill bit it in, successfully drilled one, and gave away the other two.

There doesn't seem to be much consistency, and now I'm afraid to buy a KFL clone from anywhere in fear of getting one with a puny air hole. EHPro makes a KFL V2 clone that has dual air holes which might be worth checking out (assuming that isn't the model you currently dislike ;) )

Kayfun Lite well actually a Russian 91% is my main atty on the DNA40. Great vape.
Puzzling how the wire could effect the air required in a regulated and temperature limited device.
I don't think it can.

Airflow is what cools your coil down, so with the kayfuns restricted airflow the temp rises quickly and kicks in temp control. Obviously it's going to depend on the specifics of your coil, power levels, and juice, but more than a few people have noted issues running their kayfuns in temp control mode.

Happy New Year Kayfans ... the Lite+V2 is my perfect vape :vapor:

Where did you get the light blue window? I've only ever been able to find the dark blue.

I've been thinking about drilling out the bottom air hole on my kfl+ but not sure the best way to go about it. I've long since removed the pin altogether, but still get an annoyingly loud draw on the inhale. Not as bad as the whistle with the pin in, but still wish it were quieter. Will drilling it out make it quieter?

I thought things were going a little on the lite side in the Lite thread, now I know why. Long live the LIte

Long live indeed! This, the K'fun, is what showed me the true world of vaping happiness. Started off with cartos (one month), then gennys (two months) and when my 3.1ES was touched there was no looking back.
