I practically lived on a golf course when I was young and still played regularly until 14 years ago. I haven't played since. :)

I can see why you have been wrapping coils. BTW it's a Holiday Inn Express in the ad. I just canceled my stay since your post.

From all the posts this sounds like the Manhattan Project thread.

If you can figure out how to shape a 4-iron shot around a tree from the woods then you can do a KFL. :)

Actually I use a 5 iron for that shot and I can shape it around a tree either right or left. Having been in the woods so many times I have learned that shot well. I practice it on the driving range too. Nothing like the shot Bubba Watson hit on the 10 hole of the Masters, but I can curve it.

BTW does it come with a steel or plastic tank or both?

I can shape my shots too. And I don't even try. :)

Both. The tank is assembled from three sections. Two of the sections (the bottom and top) are identical and made of stainless steel. The middle section is optional (you get both)...stainless steel or clear plastic. The vast majority use the clear section so they can gauge their juice level. There are multitudes of tank accessories/options that you can buy seperately (which adds to the noise you see on this thread). They are completely and totally unnecessary to the function of the atomizer. Something you might want to explore after you catch the Kayfun bug (along with all the variations of Kayfuns).

I had a golf partner awhile back...and old codger...his name was Bud (RIP). Bud would slice a drive a hundred yards into the woods and it would spit it back on the fairway every time. I smack one down the center of the fairway and it hits a pebble and does a 90 twenty trees back. This explains in part why I don't golf anymore. :)

No videos so far. Any suggestions?

Here's one...take a sedative first. Rip drives me nuts. But he shows you how the parts fit together. Skip to the 12 minute mark. The first 12 minutes are blah, blah, blah. This is the original KFL. You're getting a KFL+. Mostly the same. KFL+ has an adjustable airflow, a different drip tip and some minor design changes but basically the same.

Hey guys, I am a newbie to RTA's with a unique problem. Been using those dinky polypill cartos for a long time and happy with the flavor. Whenever I try a tank, the flavor gets intensified to a degree that I am not used to. Reducing the flavor has helped some, but not quite. I vape at 2.5 ohms and 4 volts. Am I likely to encounter this issue with a Kayfun? If it wasn't for the problem of filling cartos three times a day, along with their poor vapor production, I'd happily continue using them. Any tips or suggestions how I might tame a kayfun to my liking? I was thinking perhaps a higher ohm, along with reduced flavor % might do the trick.

Well you probably won't be vaping at 2.5ohms more like 1.5-1.7 but 4 volts is managable. I vape 1.6 at 4v on my Kayfuns. I shoot for 1.5 but comes out at 1.6 a lot. You will definately taste the flavor in a completely different way and going from 3.5 to 4v you will notice a difference in the same flavor. Nothing like em.

If I understand you correctly then, 2.5 ohms on a Kayfun is unlikely to be a happy prospect?

Well, vaping is so subjective, that anyone can like anything.
You should absolutely try what you're aiming for.
That being said, the majority of Kayfun users that I've encountered, have found the sweet spot to be around 1.3-1.8 ohms...
The only way you're going to learn what works best for you, is trial and error. We may point you in the right direction, and nod towards certain tips and advice, but I am an advocate of trying and failing. I'd rather have many attempts fail, that way I know for a fact they won't work for me...so that way when I get a good one, I won't be tempted or drawn back to other builds that didn't work.

Thanks HB, you're absolutely right about trial and error. I was just trying to cut some corners. :)

Please, cut away! We have the best scissors here!
But don't rob yourself of the experience of finding your perfect sweet spot...because that's what I feel a Kayfun will help you do.
It did it for me, and countless others!

Received my kayfun cleaned it and assembled it.

I do not want to sound like I am crying, but the poly tank it came with has screwing issues (not the marriage counseling or medication type) I tried nice and easy, but it won't fit right. After several attempts it did fit, goes in crooked and aligns itself if i unscrew it, I have to start from zero. I did clean out the excess plastic prior to putting it together. It only happens on one side. Has anyone else had this issue? I am not a fan of plastic wish it was glass, but oh well.

I will have to say that I am impressed with the workmanship of the kayfun (except for the poly tank) I tried my first coil with 28 ga aimed for 1.5 but got 1.6. It fired from the center out. The issue I had was that I did build it right, the 2.4 screwdriver that I am using is a flat head so it seems to unravel the coil when I remove it. Well I will find better tools and continue to practice until my cotton arrives. I can not wait to try the kayfun, I can see the aspire is getting sad.......
