Mine arrived yesterday. I also had a screw that would not tighten or thread out. Swapped it for one of the spares and works fine now. My only complaint with mine is the screw heads on the deck are kind of small. Probably would not be an issue with 32ga. but with 28ga. it is a little fiddly to get the wire to stay under the screw. Built mine with 10/9 coil on ReadyxWick (XC-116). Came out at 1.4ohms. Performs as expected. No whistle, no leaks, draw is a little tighter than my kayfun 3.1 but not so much I feel the need to do anything about it. On whole worth the price but no really substantial difference from any other clone with the exception of the adjustable 510.

Here's a few photos of what I'm doing with my Kayfun clone. Still gettin' a lotta dry hits. I still think the wick might be a bit too short.....
This is 28 gauge kanthal, btw.

Yes, try a little longer wick. You can have it long enough to lay on and make good contact with the deck, you just don't want to press it down in and block the channels so fit it loosely.

Also where the upward juice channel is gouged with a drill, by looking at the picture that seems like it could really affect the flow of liquid.

If that's 28g, it's either very low resistance (sub-ohm?), or a very large wrap (>2mm?). Either way, I'd try a more traditional setup of 8-10 wraps on a 2mm bit, to give you ~1.2-1.6 ohms.

As far as the wick goes, I'd go a little thicker (doesn't look like you have good contact with the coil), and a little longer. It should fan out and sit comfortably covering most of the base so it pulls in all the liquid that enters the chamber, just not packed down so hard it clogs the juice intake.

I'd take some photos of my setup, but the only camera I currently have is on my old phone (waiting for a replacement), and it's appalling for macro.

In my experience, the KFL is not nearly as wick-density dependent as the Fogger - so no need to be shooting for the low side of things. However, you might run into juice feed choking issues if you really pack in the cotton because your coil is so wide.

with larger ID coils (>1/16") I run my wick long and pull up both ends and slip the chimney (cap-less) over them; then gently pack down the ends so they spread all the way across the deck floor.

with 1/6" or less ID coils I pre-wet the wick and fold little loops with each end of the wick, then put the chimney on

Thanks heaps for the input! I guess I got so well-trained in Fogger Building that I subconsciously assumed that all of these kinds of rebuildables were picky about wick density. So much so, in fact, that I haven't been paying enough attention to the length of the wick and where it's positioned.

Be careful with Chinese clones. They use low grade metals that rust and make your juice taste like crap and who knows what they do to your health.
Some companies advertise their product as "all stainless steel" and they use cheap metals for the smaller parts and screws. Those metals are always in contact with your juice.
I bought a clone from Fasttech and one from Tobeco and they both had the same problem
