I got home to a nice surprise today. My KFL+ arrived even though the tracking said it was still out in LA!

After giving it a nice warm bath I whipped up a 9 or 10 wrap micro coil using 30ga kanthal and stuffed with cotton.
My juice taste like crap if I push it beyond 13 watts and around 8 or 10 is it's sweet spot on my Gennie's.

OK so here's my short take on what I think of these KFL's so far.

Pro's
Super easy build
First time I have ever been able to use cotton wick on a device and taste good
Obviously the build quality is great as should be expected from a $100 atty tank
Flavor is already as good as my genie builds after only 30 minutes of use
Vapor production is crazy
Warmth of vapor is MUCH better than I expected. I like my vape warm or even to the hot side
The draw without the adjustment screw in is perfectly fine for me. Might not even put it in there.
Love that instant snap crackle pop that tells you that you are in for a hell of a vape ride. ;)
Very fast shipping from Vaporev (nothing to do with the device)

Cons:
This thing is a monster in size and weight! Almost as heavy as my Provari mini with a battery in it and almost as long.
Came from vaperev in a simple little box with only spare parts but no little tools to use on it. I thought these were suppose to come with a little tool. Folks are going to be screwed (no pun intended) if they don't have a tiny allen head wrench to fit the air adjustment screw.

That's it. I've only had it up and running for about an hour so all I can say so far is, I think I spent my money wisely on this device. I'm VERY happy with it. I just need to sell off one of my Provari's now so I can snag a Paps SS V2.5 to put under this puppy.

Happy.. Happy.. Happy... :vapor::thumb:

I got my KFL+ today too. I've taken it apart and given it a bath, but won't be able to set it up until tonight. You use a small flathead screwdriver for the airflow control screw, not an allen wrench.

Do you get an even airier draw when the air control screw is out vs even if it is unscrewed all the way where it's sitting flush with the KFL base?

I don't know for sure but my guess is that is correct. if you put the screw in it it will restrict the air flow. The further in the more restricted I would guess.

Got mine 2 days ago. I have 3.1 and lite so really excited thinking kfl+ could give me the best of these 2 but then disappointed :(. The draw is not even and kind of whistling. my guess the culprit is the control screw could be loose so I warp it with silicon tape. the whistling gone yesterday but back again today. As for the taste, it's similar to the other kayfuns when it works well but with the uneven draw, it get mute. Overall, I am much happier with the kfl earlier version even it don't have afc. Anyway, it could be just mine. Will take it apart later and see what else could causing it.

I got my first Kayfun...the KFL+...a couple of days ago. I made a microcoil with a cotton wick and the build was very easy. I now understand why there is a lot of buzz about this RTA.

mahsih...Regarding the air flow controller, mine works fine. I tuned it to where the screw head is just below flush with the base and have not changed it. It looks to me like there is an extra AFC screw in the parts bag (it's the only single slotted screw in the bag and it does not really have a panned out head), so maybe you could try swapping them to see if that helps. Hopefully that would help you unless you have a bad bore hole.

And while I'm here, I'd like to know how you guys fill the KFL+ with the metal tank. I've currently got the clear tank installed and filled it by tipping it upside down at a 45 deg angle and adding fluid until it reached a level just below the top of the clear plastic. The only reliable way that I can think of to repeat this is to measure the volume by using a syringe with the clear tank and repeating this with the metal tank. Is there another way to do this?

Sorry guys to repeat my self but tomorrow im going to the shop, some help please :p

Secto - I can't comment on the 3.1 as I just got the KFL+ myself a few days ago but from all the reading I've done I don't think performance wise there is any differences between them. The Lite is simply a hacked down version of the 3.1 which makes it slightly smaller and lighter.
Just do a google search on kayfun 3.1 vs lite and you will see this question has been asked hundreds of times and you can get more details of what the exact differences are.

Personally I'd just go with the KFL+ just based on my limited experience with one. Either way you go, you'll be happy.

No problem. I'm just curious if anyone else has this going on and has an easy solution before I break it down to isolate the cause. It really is baffling me. I guess the possibility exists that is a problem with my device.

Maybe when it's fully threaded your device's positive post pushes a little too hard and touches the threading thus touching the negative "post" of the atty?
