Dustin, the bottom screw on the 510 connector may be loose causing the top blocks to move and touch eachother when you torque down.

At any rate, I just got my KFL+ and set it up Friday. With the AFC screw all the way down (airflow wide open) it is slightly airier of a draw than the og KFL. Even better with the AFC screw removed altogether. Honestly I don't know why anyone would want a tighter draw than stock on this, so I didn't even experiment with tightening it.

As far as the new fill screw, I like that it no longer leaks but I still like the old fill hole and screw better. The old style screw was almost self-guiding and it seemed easier to fill straight from the bottle (no needle tip). I'm finding my juice "pools" up a little more in the deeper fill hole than on the old one. Nothing major but something to note. I still don't use a needle tip.

All in all, I do like the new KFL+. Is it worth selling your og KFL for $70 just to cop the newer version? I wouldn't. There are minor improvements, but the KFL is almost perfect to me as is, "tight" draw and all and the upgrades are just minor. The draw difference isn't drastic, but it is looser. I did sell one of my KFL's for $100 to get the KFL+ and don't regret it but I have 3 KFL's. At least at $100 you break even to give it a try.

As you can tell, I am a full-on kayfun convert and just love these tanks. Easy build, no leaks, best flavor and to me they even blow clouds. Just gotta know how to build it right. I don't think you can go wrong with any version of the Kayfun. My only advise is to put the coil as close to the airhole as possible without shorting it. Bigger clouds and more flavor.

Btw, I usually do 28 gauge micro and cotton around 0.8 ohms but I'm currently experimenting with a 1 ohm wrap. So far I'm lovin it.

got my Kayfun Lite Plus about 2 days ago.

didnt have much time to set up a microcoil, so ended up making a basic coil with 32AWG, 4 wraps, 2 Ohms on 3mm silica wick. pretty easy to set up, although screwing in the wire to the posts is a little fiddly at times.

the build quality is top notch. everything screws in nicely and the finishing is smooth. not sure how i'm going to tell how much liquid i have left since i used the steel window..

coming from vcores, vivi nova, protank2 and rsst.. i have to say, the taste of liquid from this tank is freaking fantastic! coupled with my Provari, the vape is smooth, clean and oh so flavorful.

going to build up a Kraken tonight and see how it compares.

I completely disassembled it, made sure there were no stray bit of wire or anything. I even wrapped the positive post in a bit of electrical tape. Still shorted. I have no real answer. Holding it next to my 3.1 I did notice that the 510 is slightly longer. Maybe this is putting too much pressure on the insulator in the connection of my device. I don't know. For now I'm using it on a mechanical, carefully, making sure nothing out of the ordinary is happening.

Ive been running mine since Saturday with 1 ohm vertical coil with cotton on my Opus D. Im really loving the flavor I get out of it at 20 watts. Nice warm vape with plenty of flavor. Im getting a nice amount of vapor on top of that. The only issue Ive run into once was it did leak on me through the air hole but I think its because I took off the top cap after filling. Love this thing and Im looking to get the 3.1 possibly.

I hate that they totally replace KFL with KFL+

For me, KFL works perfect, and now they are no longer available! Where as the new KFL+, there will be 1 more screw to be careful with!

I just got my KFL last week, and have been lovin' it to the core. Was about to get another 1 from C9V, then Todd comes out with KFL+ review, next thing I know CV9 has a ERU6 price drop for clearance on existing KFL, to be replaced with KFL+

I am little too late! No more KFL...

I've had both and I honestly liked the kfl more. The draw was so much smoother, because the plus version whistles in any configuration.

Have you made sure the coils are high enough on your build? The tape is a good idea or even get some insulator paint like you use on tools that might help. Change out all the insulators and see it that makes a difference . You are not screwing it down to fit flush on device that doesn't have an adjusting pin are you?

Got my KFL+ yesterday in the mail. I never had the original KFL, so can't comment on the difference. But I can say this is by far the easiest RBA to set up. Microcoil & cotton. 1.3 ohm coil. Looks amazing on my GP PAPS SS V2.5. I've already filled & refilled with no leaking. Super consistent vape from full to empty. I never had to tweak the coil or cotton to work correctly. A couple of adjustments to the airflow to have it work to my preferences, and I'm very happy with it. Love that the airflow hole is on the side, and no problem for me that I have to remove the atty to adjust it. Once I dial it in, I leave it there.

It doesn't have an adjustable pin, but the creator used a kayfun 3.1 as his guide to set the depth on it. I have figured this has to be the answer. All the insulators are good and in place. My coil is a safe distance from any contacts. the pin being slightly longer is the only thing that makes sense. I like it, but wish it had the same post length.

Anyone having issues with it shorting out? I have it on a protected device and when I thread it all the way down it shorts out. If I back it out about a half turn, it fires fine. My 3.1 does not have this problem.

Yup. Happened to me, but on a raw unprotected mod. Testing the wonders of IMR chemistry, one could say.

The big block with the positive screw is turning when you screw it onto the mod. Grab the block with pliers and really crank down the center screw in the 510 post. It isn't useful as a post height adjustment, and serves only to hold the block to the deck. I'm underwhelmed by the engineering.

I got my KFLP on the 15th. It's a great vape. I've used both 28 gauge and ribbon kanthol with 100% organic cotton and the flavor has been great! It's a nice warm vape at .80 ohms on my calmodz Hero edition in 1
18350 mode. The flavor from a fresh cotton wick is un beatable.

Yep that will make it leak sometimes even if you hold your finger over the air hole. I turn it upside down and blow in the drip tip with a paper towel over the air hole, that clears the liquid out.

Maybe after I finish this tank I will give that a go. I think it is genuinely a longer deal though. Maybe I can torque it down a little more...

Yes the 510 screw sticks out some and don't torque it down you will cause a short crush the insulators. Check to see if the center screw on the 510 is straight not over to one side maybe.

The two aren't even close in severity. Leave the block loose and get intermittent hard shorts when, not if, it twists as you mount it to the mod or just twiddle it tighter or looser. Or tighten the screw, taking care to not crush the INSULATOR.
