I haven't tried it yet, but I will when I do a coil change, if I feel like tinkering, to be honest mine doesn't whistle near as bad as it did when I first got it!

I just ordered a kayfun mini & I'm a little worried now that the quality might not be what it should after reading this! Quality of my original kfl what fantastic & honestly it's the only reason I purchased the plus & the mini, so if this starts going down hill, I won't be very happy!

Also, I am kinda regretting selling my kfl in the classies, wish I would have held on to it now!

I'm going to put my kayfun lite plus in a jewelery cleaner ultra sonic before I start using a drill bit on my KFL I want using a drill bit to be last resort.. I'll let u know how it goes.

That's a good idea, I have one of those as well, & it didn't even cross my mind to use it!!

Please do post how it works for you!

Not a plus, but the nano tanks are bad ...

Just received my kayfun lite + from cloud 9 and I can't put it down. I vape mostly with my Penelope and carto tanks but after using the KFL+, I don't see using the others for a while. I'm using 9 wraps of 28g kanthal (not quite micro-more mini) w/cotton wick @ 1.1 ohm on my scorpion mech. Throat hit and flavor are sublime.
Here's a pic of it on the scorpion next to my provari.

I ran the KFL+ in the ultra sonic cleaner I didn't notice any difference I still hear the high pitch whistling sound, On a side note I have 2 of them and I was doing side by side comparison.. Only 1 of my KFL+ whistles and the other one doesn't.. sigh.. :(

Well I guess there is something to be said about shavings or debris inside the air holes?

Mine has been doing a lot better, in fact I only notice whistling on my harder pulls, & not on the normal draws.

Instead of beating around the bush and trying to figure out the problem I just registered on the svoemesto forum and I sent a PM to svoemestro on our problem and what's the best way to fix the problem and to let him know of the problem.. Hopefully he responds with an answer soon :D

i gotta tell ya, the russian clone New Kayfun Lite Clone RBA Rebuildable Atomizer Tank Fast Shipping | eBay

is pretty bad .... works amazing. only cost me $40 from a ecf member who had a couple spare brand new. loving it.

only issue i am having is the th is very intense had to open the air flow up a lot to lessen the TH and the flavor is a bit muted. have a micro coil setup with some organic cotton. pretty sure i taste the cotton as well. i tried putting less cotton but still taste it.

and yes this clone also whistles when i take a pull.

I have my air flow almost open to the max because I don't like TH either, do you find that it mutes flavor a lot?

ya it is muted. but i find whenever i use cotton it gets muted. i took a drag from the chimney before filling it up and the flavor was unreal. then when i assembled it all and filled it the flavor dropped to about %50. weird. like i said think i am tasting the cotton which is masking the flavor a bit. i dunno. i pulled out the cotton and put a smaller amount in so its not engulfing the coil.i put in enough where i can pull the cotton back and forth but its touching all coil. i figured it gets a little bloated when juice hits it, but still muted. i have some silica coming. will try a silica build and see how that goes. i just hate the taste of cotton.

Did you boil your cotton before you used it? I do, and it makes a big difference. Even then, it takes a few toots to taste right...

ok i think i put much cotton to where i am blocking the channels too much. going to try and rewick it with a short piece of cotton. will report back

I always felt like u can't really block the channels because wouldn't the juice come up the juice wells and if cotton is laid over the juice wells it will just get absorbed in the cotton wick or either the juice will push the cotton up not down into the juice wells. I think you need to make sure you take more primer puffs to make sure your wick is fully saturated. I don't know if this is true or not but I always wondered why sometimes my fresh wicks would sometimes make a lot of crackling noises I know the amount of watts you vape at also effects that noise, but I noticed sometimes the noise is a lot more subtle, I think that subtle also has to do with a fully saturated wick. So maybe try some more primer puffs up to the point where you might even hear some gurgles.

No I did not boil it. Honestly I don't think that's necessary but I can try that if I don't figure it out. Tried the a shorter wick and still the same. Maybe my build sucks. Build looks good fires from the middle to the outer edges, no hot spots. Nothing is touching anything that it's not suppose to. I will try to recoil and see. Man fiddle time is growing lol. I Just got it today though so it's to be expected. I know it's not the device it's me.

How far is your coil above the air hole? Should be between 1-2mm.

EDIT: Just re read your original post...if you got good flavor straight from the chimney, it might be an airflow adjustment. Try opening the airflow adjustment screw on the bottom.
