I think I've had my KFL for 3 weeks now. At first I was having problems setting it up but with the great advices given to me by thread....Let me start off by saying this has got to be the best vaping device ever made! Once I got the hang of setting it up. I barely use any of my other devices other than feeling sorry for them not being used. I vape my genesis atty's and other rba's/rda's just to let them know I haven't forgot them. Then I grab the KFL and vape it all day long. I feel like the KFL is a new born baby and feel bad it's getting all the attention! lol

Seriously though, The flavor, vapor, and TH are top notch. I can understand why people are buying more than one. Taking this thing out and about is so much easier than my other RBA's. Even my rba cartos leak from time to time and don't offer the flavor that this produces. It's so easy to set up micro coils on this, that it seems like it was meant for each other. I plan on getting 2 more. Even so I have a Russian 91% on pre-order. I want to just support svoemesto for their innovative creation. I can't wait for what they have next. I have always supported clones but this is one of those devices that demands respect for it's greatness. I don't think I have separated from my KFL other than letting my wife vape it from time to time.

Now I get it...now I understand what everyone is raving about. Thank you for this thread. :vapor:

Lol yea same cotton; I have a 400cnt bag. Yea it weird, I tore the wick off, and tried another wick with the legs of the wick running across the channels, and that's when I noticed a change in flavor. Couple hours later, changed wicks and went back the other way with the legs of the wick just touching the base right above the juice channels, and still muted flavor. I am thinking about just rebuilding the whole thing, coil, wick

take some step-by-step pictures! i havent tried the shorter wick configuration but im sure the longer wicks keeps it more saturated. i also kept in mind that i wanted to keep the coils just a little bit larger than the air hole so the flow from the air hole could move around it with less resistance compared to a larger coil. feels airy. i had a larger coil previously and i could tell the difference in the inhale.

My KFL was scheduled to be delivered this morning, but it seems to be stuck in Köln  Scheduled delivery is now "N/A"
Quite odd.

Yea, same thing happened to me. It's in Memphis this morning, so I feel better now. Except I won't be here :(

Guess I'll leave a signed note on the door.

It's crazy how since getting my first lite to getting my second lite, I've sold or traded every other delivery option available. I'm an ecig in the pocket kind of guy and the kayfun has been exactly what I needed all along.
First kayfun is setup almost identical as second.
29 gauge .7 ohms and 1.0 ohms with just one strand of cotton.
Is there anyway to stop the condensation or tiny leakage I'm having on the bottom of the device after a few hours?

Nice setup. And thanks for the link, those are some of the best looking drip tips I've seen. Bookmarked for my next hardware buying frenzy.

this is by far one of the better Atty's out there! I was worried at first being a carto and tank guy for so long but after purchase and having a vape session once with this I never re-attached my other tanks and cartos to my mod.

I'm a carto guy myself but it was game over after my first vape with the KFL.

My KFL is due in today from Intaste...just left Memphis this morning....thats 3 days to my door...I guess they've sorted out the customs issue...?!!!

Anyways, this has been such a great thread, I read all the way from page 1, stoked' on setting up my first RBA. What a great group you all have been sharing these great builds, and the cotton micro coil seems the way to go, I'll start on mine tonight!

If you don't mind me asking a few dumb questions, mostly I have found answers and tips already right here....

Are guys cleaning/washing the KFL right out of the package...is it needed..?
Also, do I need to "torch" the Kanthal (wire) before I wrap the coil....or can I do this via igniting it with the battery, or so to say.

I think those are the only parts I did'nt catch, or understand. The rest, you folks have outdone yourselves in relaying what works/what doesn't.

This is a seriously valuable thread for many people to come to when they realize what a great RBA the KFL is.

Thankyou all!!

I clean everything I get out of the package. New, used, it does not matter! It's gets cleaned!

A little soap and water, rinse, hand dry, q-tip it, rock it!

I have never torched kanthal before wrapping.

Enjoy that KFL ----> It ROCKS

1. Cleaning/washing anything out of the box is always a wise activity.
2. U don't need to torch the Kanthal, but a bit of flame does make it less tensile, aka easier to wrap. I don't though:)

qorax,

I have been following your posts closely, as my setup will be similiar to yours, running the KFL on a GP PAPS.
So now you have been doing the cotton micro coil, are you seeing much "benefit" over the others builds you've been doing...?
And, has it been any less figity/more figity to keeping it going good.....verses say the silica...?

Thanks-

Thankyou all!!

The wire I'm currently using is labeled "Annealed" on the spool. So, theoretically, it doesn't need torching. I do it anyway, just as a force of habit. I just give it a quick once over with the mini torch.
As for washing everything before using; it's always a good idea. Not to say that I always do.

Hi,

I typically don't find any difference between my builds, vape wise. They all work just as gr8 and the VTF remains similar, if not the same, with either type of wick+coil.

I took to micros & cotton for the sole reason that it was 'easier to replace'. Not that making a Kanthal over Silica/EkoW wrap was any difficult (I seldom take more than 5-minutes for those builds), but the fact that u just pull-off the used cotton & wriggle in a fresh wick -- sold it to me. Makes ur life lot easier, b'coz u don't need to tinker with the screws anymore that often to 'attach' the build. The coil would last many cotton replacements just by pulsing it a few times (for cleaning it off any residue).

Hope that gave an idea of what it'd be like!

I haven't seen this issue come up yet and may be just me. I noticed a slight bit of juice leaking from where the clear tanks meets the metal tanks (happened on both my KFLs. Not noticeable to the eye, I noticed it after wiping the tank with a tissue.

Anyone else notice this? I tightened the tanks a little more and if it persists I will try replacing the O-rings.

Anything I need to watch out for running a micro coil/low ohms on a mechanical (I'll be running 350 mode) .......?
I read somewhere don't go below 0.8 ohms running 350 battery's in mechanicals.....any others worries..?

I vape between 0.9-1.2Ω and that works for me perfectly. I'm also on 18350 mechanicals, always.
