I setup one of my kayfuns with a tight draw by laying the micro coil very close to the airhole. It's sitting perpendicular to the screws so that the rollen cotton wick ends point straight out and down to the juice wells. This forms a tent over the airhole and as a result a much tighter draw. Not sure which I prefer but I'm switching back and forth between the two trying to decide.
Wow ok so I was just about ready to give up on micros and I've finally (!) hit the sweet spot. On my fourth attempt, I wrapped a pretty flawless coil that came in at 1.8 ohms, but it still tasted dry. The key was to trim my wicks by 1-2 mm and press them against the inner wall... away from the juice channels. Now it's feeding great and the flavor is virtually perfect. I guess my wicks were puffing up and blocking the channels which was causing it to dry out.
I'm fairly sure the how-to videos I watched mentioned this, but it didn't sink in that having your cotton 2mm too long could really affect performance that much. I'm happy now. I guess it just took a little trial and error on my part. Happy vaping!

Got to say i'm very pleased with cotton in there as well. I used ribbon wire don't remember how many wraps I got pushing out 1.8ohm. I was not expecting the cotton wick to work well, I have tried with other rebuidables ware it sucked! Now though in the KFL it does work great that shows how well these are designed to me to keep the cotton wicked well without burning up. I've had nothing but good luck with silica,eco and now cotton. Mesh I won't try in the KFL i'll keep that for my Taifun GT and lavagens.
I haven't tried ribbon wire in the KfL yet. I thought about it, but it seems like you'd run out of room, with .8, which is equivalent to 28ga.
I thought at first the wicks needed to be right there across the little indentions where the juice comes into the channels in the chamber so as to wick the juice up into the coil but I'm finding that seems to block the juice so it can't be wicked fast enough. I'm getting better results by just letting the tails of the wick hug the side of the ledge (like a hiker stranded on the side of a mountain) I think the juice channels in by positive pressure cause by inhaling??? I was of a mind that if I left the tiny juice holes in the chamber exposed, juice would come rushing in and flood the chamber but I guess that not how it works.
The ribbon I used worked great think I could have put even more wraps the what I did I have the ribbon set up like a micro coil all butted up together.

Got the same email too but the picture doesn't include the extra goodies like intaste includes in theirs, nonetheless it's from a reputable vendor with fast shipping. Will probably get a piece of candy to sweeten the vapemail!

If its a lite then loosen the positive screw at the bottom (510 connector) hold the positive block straight then slowly tighten the screw making sure the block stays straight.
Answering in case others need the same help.
For a 3.1 you take the 510 screw out, take the bottom cap off, the use a larger screw driver on the wide center post .
I almost nuked a battery when this happened to me and a didn't realize. IMO this is a bit of a design flaw on the lite but it is also the users responsibility to understand how our advanced hardware works
i made a hybrid wick out of 3mm ekowool and 325 mesh. works and tastes better than my genny's... vaping nirvana.
Been thinking about a mesh/Eko setup too. Any details you can share? Picture?
i never used cotton on a standard type coil but with micro coils a little dab will do ya.
glad for the success , it is unbelievable just how much the cotton swells, in my experiences little is better. like you i don't really think about the little channels, all i do is place the tails down just enough to reach the bottom and then add maybe 1mm more. they really don't span the whole distance horizontally across the bottom.
Up until now I've been a little disappointed. I finally got a coil built day before yesterday that was good, not great but good. Then last night I rebuilt it instead of refilling and the results were not so good... off taste and not much vapor (boy this thing isn't very forgiving with coils!) I've been using 30g. This morning I awoke with a renewed sense of determination (LOL) and saw your post and thought wth. I wrapped 11 wraps of 28g (1.3ohms) It was the most perfect coil ever (I should have taken a picture because I'm sure I could win some kind of award) Installed it perfectly, slipped in a sliver of cotton, saturated it and filled it. Now FINALLY I'm getting the vape I've been after!
Between this success and the "out for delivery" notice on usps.. very happy this morning
awesome donnah, glad its working better now. i really don't use anything thinner then 28g so i really didn't know the exact performance on the 30g and how it really performs with a micro coil. i did shortly try it once in my reo & rm2 device and found it ok, but when you get used to the thicker wires, imo it really shines.
one thing i like to do with the micro's in the k-lite is to keep the coil as close as possible to the air hole. because these micros are fairly potent imo compared to a standard coil i find that if the coil is to far from the air hole it can be a little to strong. the one i have going now is very close and because of the configuration of these micros they are very strong and you really don't have to worry that it will lower and ultimately touch the base.
