Lol yea same cotton; I have a 400cnt bag. Yea it weird, I tore the wick off, and tried another wick with the legs of the wick running across the channels, and that's when I noticed a change in flavor. Couple hours later, changed wicks and went back the other way with the legs of the wick just touching the base right above the juice channels, and still muted flavor. I am thinking about just rebuilding the whole thing, coil, wick

You might just have the "I can't taste my juice" syndrome.

I was going to order a replacement M tank for my KFL this weekend from Vaperev. First class shipping was $7.60  I thought it had to be a mistake, so I called 'em and they explained that since they had reports of many packages being stolen from mailboxes and porch steps, they were requiring insurance and signature deliver on every package that went out. The guy then stated that if I send an email releasing them from liability if the package gets stolen, they would send me a coupon code. A day later I got an email stating that insurance was still required but I could request they send without signature only. Not good enough.

I got a few local vapers together and placed a larger group order from Intaste instead. Cheaper for all, and we'll probably get 'em faster anyway. Plus they had the full size M tank in stock and I picked up some spare insulaters as well. I am not spending my money with VR anymore either...

Requiring insurance and signature on a $2.50 pack of spare parts? Seems like overkill to me. We really need a better place to source these types of things. I went to a couple hardware stores but damn its hard to find what I'm looking for. What's worse is that I seem to know more about screws and o-rings than the people working there.

For those interested, here is a set up of a Kayfun with ceramic and cotton. Works beautifully.

I wonder if it may be easier to just lightly 'sock' the ends of the ceramic wick on either side with 2 or 3 mm Ekowool? Then trim and lay on the deck by the juice ports. Not sure if it would wick as well as cotton? I'm using cotton on a microcoil now and it's great for wicking, and I don't get that silica taste.

Before I attempt this, I'm just trying to think about how to get the cotton to both drape over the ends as it appears in the pic, but also get the cotton to have a nice lay on the bottom deck.

I do it only when I get burnt taste, funky taste (like gunked coil) or changing flavors.

No. As long as you've had no dry hits, there's no reason to. A cotton wick should last for several tankfuls.

Wow! Am I done purchasing Silica & Ekowool hereon? That $4 bag of cotton ball/s will last a lifetime in this case :D

Micro-Cotton folks, do u replace the cotton with every tank-fill?

No... I changed mine Sunday and I'll probably change it tomorrow.. or the next day.. or the next. This is what I love about micro coils and cotton.. I don't have to change the coil every time I need a fresh wick. Just slide out the old wick, dry burn any gunk off the coil and slide in a fresh wick :D
