I havent even bought Silica. I went for cotton because it's readily available and dirt cheap. I bought some mesh because I've read about how durable they are and seeing people like Phil Busardo reporting that an ss mesh wick and coil lasts him 3 months with just rinsing and dry burning.

I'm not a mesh fan. Flavor is good but not as good as cotton or silica (in some situations). It also needs to be run on a mech at subohm. Any other option and it takes too long to heat up.

I hear ya. I'm pretty much in love with my current mesh/cotton setup at 1.1ohms. It's damn perfect for my tastes, just the right amount of heat, flavor and vapor. It made my Mt Baker 555 really pop. My jury is still out on Boba's though. Get tired of it pretty quickly.

I plan on keeping this coil setup as long as possible. Rewicked and cleaned it 3 times already switching flavors and the process feels much simpler to me. No chance of messing up the coil when pulling off the cotton.

Sounds like you need to try some NETs.

That is a very good place to start nttdemented. Clay is one of the newest vendors to start offering NET's, but he's already enjoying huge success among the folks that vape NET's.

You can also join us in this thread if you want to get a TON of more information on Natural Extracted Tobaccos: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-liquid-discussion/274904-natural-tobaccos.html

What would you recommend for starters? I really enjoy a good vanilla cigar at times. Aromatic and sweet with a light tobacco flavor. I'm no pure tobacco conoseur but I've had my fare share of real Cuban cigars like Monte Cristos, Rome y Julieta, Cohibas and the like but I dont think I'd like to vape something like that 24/7.

All I'm gonna say is that this setup is wicking PERFECTLY with highly saturated consistent hits using Boba's Bounty "syrup". If this stuff is wicking fine anything else should. Try it! Make that wick solid and tight!

used mesh for a long time in my gennys before moving to ceramic and now to cotton. I did try the mesh once in the kaylite and found the flavor pretty close to the cotton but preferred the slight more intensity of the micro coil compared to the standard wrap. but the mesh does give a very clean taste that is hard to beat. what will be interesting to find out from you is if, at all, does the juice darken from the mesh? in a genny its different in that the juice is in constant contact with the wick so after a while the juice will get slightly burnt or gets darker from this contact. now in the kayfun its a little different in that the mesh doesn't really touch the juice directly so it may not contaminate the juice like in a genny but depending on how much you oxidize the mesh it may still do this. your build is good and gives another option to this wonderful device, let me know if you notice any of your juice darkening from the oxidized mesh, usually if this happens the flavor is reduced towards the last 1/3 tank. if you do notice this I would recommend not oxidizing your mesh as much as you did, tbh you really don't need this much oxidation in the first place, if your getting great flavor now with a slightly charred wick it would be better if the wick was only pulse oxidized to start with.

Yep. The Squape is a good one! I think I like it even better than the Kayfun Lite.

I think when I get my futura dna-20 I might try this squape. I was thinking of maybe another k-lite but have heard good things about the squape. how is the air draw compared to the lite?
