an update... since I figured out where to place my wick tails, I've had no more problems with wicking. I can't believe I tried so hard for so long to keep those tails away from the inlets when that was the total opposite of what I needed to do.
I'm seeing where people wash their kfl and then leave it to dry for a length of time. Here's what I do. With the juice I'm using, I rewick twice a week.. it takes me less than 10 minutes start to finish. I take it to the sink and take it apart. I take out the old wick and rinse everything. I put the base back on my device and burn the coil a few times to burn off the gunk. I take it off the device and rinse the coil again, using one of those tiny dental brushes (dollar general) to brush the inside and outside of the coil. I dry everything off with a towel. I thread a new piece of cotton through the coil and make sure the tails are down along the deck, right over the channels/inlets then I drop some juice in to prime the wick. I put the chimney on and take a dry draw on it to make sure there is good air flow. I then put it back all together and fill. I might let it sit a few minutes or I might not. No lengthy drying time. 100% success now
I bought a fogger v2 and got it a few days ago. It's nicer than I expected quality wise. It works pretty good too. I've got a micro coil and cotton in it and I'm still experimenting with the thickness of my wick. With cotton, a thinner wick seems to work better, too thick and it feels like it blocks the inlet holes a bit too much and I can taste.. not a burnt taste but it's kinda dry and metallic which means the wick isn't getting saturated enough. It's a "fogger" for sure. It's not near as nice or (so far) works as well as the kfl but it's not too bad, especially for $27 shipped. I wouldn't buy another but I'm enjoying this one.
