We've got one camp taking dremels to their shiny new expensive toys, in the spirit of "Well, it might permanently ruin it. But it also might work better. Only one way to find out!"

And then we've got another camp being told "You rotate that screw slightly, it might improve performance" and replying "Hmm. Well, I could do that, but I don't see any point, because it's damn near perfect already, and I might have to turn it back again..."

:)

Not intended as a criticism of either camp. I just think it's a funny illustration of how different vapers' perspectives on the same thing can be.

Might be why the gum doesn't work. "Four flavours? How decadent. Let's ban that one just to be on the safe side..."

[edit - although saying that, I used to cut the gum up and mix it with normal gum to lower the strength so you could chew it normally. It's probably ultimately for the best that I don't own a dremel...]

I think it's funny too mutant. I laugh about it all the time. I'm a veteran fix-it guy. I'll tear anything up and put it back together if I have to. I do adhere to some principals though. I trust that svoemesto fooled with just about every metric on his device and optimized it before marketing it. That isn't always true with most devices. But I get this feeling svoemesto is a perfectionist and he/they got it right the first time and I see no reason to monkey with it when I have been experiencing the best vape of my life right out of the box. If Charlize Theron knocked on my door I wouldn't give her a haircut.

Here, here...to every word...

I also know that with as many attys that they are producing, one or two will slip by quality control. I have corrected small imperfections in more expensive attys and other equipment as well. And I still buy from them.

Oh, and that' not a knock on the geeks, grease monkeys, and gear heads who are tearing into their KF's or coming up with these wacky wick/coil setups. Personally, any gains they might get would be infinitesimal to these 40+-year smoker lungs so I speak only for myself. I'm actually glad the geeks, grease monkeys, and gear heads do what they do. That's how we advance the experience. :)

We sure don't hear about too many factory problems with these Kayfuns. Certainly not compared to this cheap Chinese crap that floods our hobby.

Nope. And I personally wouldn't buy a clone...the material and manufacturing tolerances are so far inferior to the original.

Plus, I would rather make sure that the clever guys and gals that design these mods and attys in the first place can keep designing wonderful stuff. These aren't faceless multinational corporations, they are small businesses whose profit margins are probably too thin to patent protect their products, or, if they are patented, it's too expensive to litigate.

I'm a big Dremel fan but I hesitate when it come to high end stuff, my KFL has ever so slightly enlarged vertical juice channels.
I agree, a stock Kayfun is pretty good the way they made it.

i also enlarged my vertical channels with the kayfun. i initially started this to obtain a place for my wick tails (like the aqua design) after burning out a couple of drill bits i stopped. in the end the depth of the channel was not deep enough to accommodate the tails so i just winded up with enlarged vertical channels. tbh the results aren't that noticeable imo, but if anything has made the vape slightly juicier.

Exactly. There is no patent on Earth that gets in the way of the Chinese.

Hey Diver. Good to see you. Yes, I have a Neme clone showing up today I believe. At least that's what the tracker says. I already have a Phoenix RBA wired up. 28ga., 1.5mm ID, 8-wraps. It's coming in at 1.0 ohms. I was shooting for 0.8 ohms.
haven't been following as of late, been so swamped at work. so how is it been working? done the LR set up?

Love that Neme. Very nice device. Solidly built, smooth threads, and easy to look at (got the brass on SS model). Only issue is the fire button will bind if I don't push it in the center. I have been given tips and tricks from other Neme owners to solve it but haven't done them yet cuz Slim (who visits this thread from time to time) is sending me some magnets that is supposed to replace the spring. Not sure how it works but I'm sure Slim will walk me through it if necessary. I have not used my Kayfun on the Neme yet. Just been fooling around with my Phoenix RBAs on it. Made 4, 28ga coils. Two at 0.9ohms and two at 1.0 ohms. It performs exactly as I expected....quick to produce vapor. That was my primary goal and it has passed successfully. I'll get to the Kayfun soon. But very happy with the Neme. One day I'll get to your 26ga. and I'll probably be knocking on your door. :)

Tripple digits half way to home
OK fellas, tell me if this one passes muster, 1.5mm 28 gauge 9/10, 1.5mm off the duct…measures out at 1.2 on the button. I changed the liquid to Halo Tribeca 24mg, burned out on the bobas. So far so good, tons of vapor and the flavor seems there and will probably get better with use…thanks for all the suggestions, much appreciated.

Very nice indeed. I used 30 gauge A1. 8-9 wraps and wound up with around 1.7 ohms. Micro coil with a 0.59 ID. with a cotton wick. vape is really nice.
Kind the same setup for my Reo's. :vapor:
BTW/ Nice build!!!!!
