I got a clone version the other day. I'm having issues with leaking. I've tried using fill screw, filling from the top and tipping over, and even fill screw with releasing pressure by tipping. It's a clone with the laser etch just like the original.

The orings look good, so I don't know what to do. The fill hole doesn't have a gasket. I don't know if that is a plus revision, or if the original has one.

It's not pouring out, but it will seep out airhole over night.

Got a lady on another thread who just got a SlowTech KF clone. It was missing the chimney.

Reminds me of the 1970's Fram ads..."Pay me now or pay me later". :)

Any notable kits that make for a great kayfun hybrid

-Sent from outer space using DNA20 and Kayfun Lite

I've using my genuine Kayfuns on VW style Neme Clones from HCigar and FusionsMods hybrid adapters and the finishes match almost perfectly. Brushed Satin Stainless continuously through the entire mod with the only thing slightly off being the polished lock ring or kick ring when running kicked. They look downright sexy IMHO.

I was a bit concerned about the air flow as well...happy to report all is well and cranking out thicker vapor than any other build yet, I put about 2ml in the tank just in case it didn't work...it fantastic and running on empty now, it definitely uses up juice a bit quicker. I'll be sticking with this wicking method for sure, just gonna vary resistance a bit, I think a lower ohm build will work well with that little extra wick touching the outside. Lemme know how it works for you guys, or if you make it better...naturally.

Thanks fellas

Hard to see in this pic, the wick exiting the right side of the coil goes down as normal, then makes a u-turn at the deck and gets tucked on the top exterior of the coil, then trim to match the length of the coil, on both sides of course...you guys get it, just thought I'd briefly explain.

Just rewicked the Kayfun that I've using for Big Willie's Custard using the same coil I've been using for a few weeks now. (28awg 7 or 8 wraps (dont remember) over a 5/64" drill bit at 1.1ohms).

Flavot and vapor density are plesantly increesed! Draw is a hair tighter but not by much. Uasing small amounts of rolled cotton with the coil bottom at about the height of the post screw heads. Thanks for the suggestion!

Gonna have to do this on my other KFL where I'm running Mt Baker's 555 that I've found likes to taste burnt with the power these coils can put out on my mechs. Been running that one with the Kick2 at 9-10 watts to keep it from tasting burny, the extra juice around the coil should help that juice out with this power level.

So what do you think the issue is? That I didn't put up $100 for a real one or russian? Lol

Next time it's empty, make sure you're getting a good seal. Take off the drip tip unless it's a screw on, cover the air hole, and apply a lot of suction. If you're getting air without quite a bit of force, you'll need to find where the weak seal is. One of the first places to check is the oring at the top of the chimney. You can try a wrap of dental floss under some of the orings to make them tighter.

Not having the clone, I couldn't possibly answer that. And I have no idea what a leaky (or unleaky) KF is worth either. I suspect it is different for everyone. :) Hope it resolves itself though. Sadly, the lady's missing chimney is a bigger problem.

I just recently picked up a KFL+ because I work at high altitude. 3000' feet up to get to work and then another 3000' most days on the mountain. That said after climbing 2000' feet of the way to work the fluid started pouring out of the air hole on the side. Just a burst and I wiped it up, after that it continued to work for the rest of the tank, just a couple gurgly hits brought was left in the airway back to the tank and vaped.
Still looking for a tank that can handle the change in altitude, but I don't think it exists yet...

As far as I understand it the only things that dont leak with altitude change are drippers, cartos and spheroids. A change of 2000 feet will be enough pressure difference to make even a Kayfun leak.

On a flight the perceived altitude change pressure-wise is far less than that. The barometric pressure guage on my watch changed from 1010mbar on the groud to 850mbar at cruising altitude with the cabin pressurized but I dont rember how much actual perceived altitude change was read by the sensor on the watch. I would guess about 500 feet.

It's true. I've been loading up 2 drippers for the drive and making due with what's in there til I arrive. I just am not into cartos, not even worth it to me to make the climb. I don't really know much about REOs though. Never looked at how they work but assume if they were a viable option it would have been mentioned in at least one of the threads I've read on altitude change. From what I understand they are like a dripper with the bottle inside so you just feed it more liquid when needed? If that's what it is it seems like it would work, but I assume there is simple more to it than that.

I've heard putting the KFL upside down solves the leaking during flying. Try that.

Don't throw away your PT!!!! Use it to vape harsh liquids lol. :vapor:

Heh I still use my EVODs for the HHV NETs I got. I find them to harsh on my Kayfuns but on the EVODs they are working great! I still push them on my mechs kicked at 13 watts though, and they handle it just fine. Using custom 28awg 1.3ohm coils with cotton in them.

I wonder if any EGO type battery would be able to push then similarly. I've been eyeballing the EGO VV2 for that purpose as it has a 3amp switch. I still have my baby EGOs and they work ok with the EVODs at 1.5ohms but they feel weak for me now that I'm used to higher power.
