Moorhead, Mn here howdy, 40 mile an hour winds, I almost got stranded outside Dilworth around 1 pm

I tried stringing my cotton straight up the chiminey, I didnt get enough of it on the deck and got a burnt taste, seems to me to work better pasting it on the deck, so I rewicked it, (using 30 guage kanthal wire) and its better, mine vaping like a beast........

Hey neighbor! Yeah they said it gusted up to 60mph today. All types of crazy weather this winter. Just found out we have a B&M store now in the FM area on Broadway, can't wait to check it out.

Somebody told me there was a new place somewhere around 45th street, yeah it will be fun to look, but i doubt they will have the goodies like Kayfun, Smok RSSt or decent juice but what the hey, I already converted one smoker to ecigs, "How to save a life" a relative of mine, gave him my old mini novas and some rebuildable CE5's and hes in vape heaven

The one on Broadway is a company called Infinite Vapor, which has several locations in MN and now in Fargo and Minot. I checked out the website, and it looks like they have some decent products. No Kayfuns that I see, for tanks it looks like ProTank, Iclear type devices. Also pictured is some mechs and variable devices like the VAMO and Innokin products like the Itaste 134 and MVP. No idea on prices or what brands of juice is carried, but it looks like you can sample juices in store.

I've also converted family members to vaping. My biggest success was my mom, who stubbernly didn't want to try it so I ordered a Smokeless Image kit to be sent to her place. She's been vaping for a while now and loves it, quit smoking fairly soon after.

I used ProTanks and Evods for on-the-go vaping before getting a KFL. They work as intended, I found them passable, but the KFL is the only tank I've used that would use for at home hobby vape in addition for something easy to take on-the-go. Like most vape products, they are perfect for some and crap for others.

Nice to meet you too, cool to see someone here on the other side of the river. See ya around.

So i wanted to figure out a way to use my KFL as a dripper. I was going to pick up a Kayfun mini until i came up with this.. I am going to call it the "Kayfun Carto Build" Even though i wanted a dripper, This is almost like a cartomizer in a sense.. It tastes/hits/clouds like a dripper though. Consider it a dripper that never needs filling?

Here are the steps i used to build it. Keep in mind that i have only done this using my Nano clear tank and i have not tried it with the stock Kayfun tanks because they were either to tall or to short, So the Nano tank was perfect height for me to do this.

mpMmCvk.jpg

All we need is the base ( with a vertical coil build ), The nano tank and the Kayfun top cap ( with the O-ring removed )

pM67RU4.jpg

A photo of the vertical build ( my build is pretty messy, 1.5Ohm 28g ) Also note that you will NOT need to slide any cotton under the hot leg/long coil coming down.

vI4qove.jpg

Now i screw on the Nano tank. You do NOT need to install any cotton prior to putting the tank on.

Jyrj25D.jpg

Now we tear off a little, loosened up, lengthy piece of cotton. I think i might have used a little to much cotton here BUT you really can't mess this up because regardless, The juice will still flow thru the cotton. Just try your best not to pack it tight, Try and form it as best as you can using a blunt tip or tool of your choice..

oCkv2gw.jpg

Once the cotton is in and you have it pretty much formed around the coil, It should look like this. Keep the height of the cotton as tall as the top of the coil and make sure the cotton touches all the way down to the base of the KFL

Hwj1Mu8.jpg

Now fill it up with juice! This setup can hold a LOT of juice! So i stopped counting how many drops it could hold. I used a needle tip bottle and made sure all areas of the cotton were wet. This is also a great time to better form your cotton around the coil.

62PnTJM.jpg

Now let it sit for a few minutes and the cotton will expand and form itself around the coil/tank/etc..After that, you are ready to vape!.

A few things to note..

1) The first time you build/fill/form the cotton with juice, You will get a little leaking from the air hole and this is normal.. After that though, It has not leaked!! I had this setup sitting all night long on my desk and not one drop or leak anywhere. I have been using it last night and this morning and still, No leaks.

2) I can chain vape and no matter how hard i try, I cannot get a dry/burnt hit.. BUT be careful! This method i have found to be VERY strong! After taking 3 huge lung inhales, I was almost on the floor from the Nic high.. This build really packs a PUNCH!

3) I have yet to run this setup dry so i cannot comment on how the refill process will work but i will assume as long as you use the same liquid, You just unscrew the cap, moisten up the cotton and your good to go!

I am sure improvement can and will be made but as for now, I am very happy with this! This has been the best tasting and best vape production so far.

Yeah, straight up, cutting my wick (cotton yarn) a couple mm above chimney height and then tucking down over channels is what I do. Absolutely consistent wicking and vaping..

Me too. I pay no attention to where I stuff the wicks. Maybe I'm lucky.

Accidently used a scotchbrite pad + metal cleaner/polish on the polished metal chimney now is dull looking n kinda scratched. Any idea how to take it off?

LReyes I work in the autobody industry...Scotchbrites abrasiveness is designated by the color of the SB...Burgandy is the most abrasive followed by Grey and finally Gold is the least abrasive...Green is a household form of SB and it's abrasiveness is unknown to me...You say it's scratched and dull...The scratches must be sanded out ending up with a grit scratch of 3000...3000 grit scratches are removed with metal polish and a good soft cloth {micro-fiber} or a powered buffing wheel...It's gonna take some work for a high shine....For a satin finish I use Grey SB and just give it a good rubbing until the desired finish is acquired.....

Today I set a smoker up with all my Innokin/Aspire/Pro-Tank stuff.....I promptly spent that change on a EhPro Nzonic w/18350s and 18650s and topped it with a Trident clone....I may be satisfied with the 18350s and maybe not...I have a fleet of AW18650s for the Pro-Vari but wanted to give the new Sony a try...The KFL+ looks down right sexy sitting on the Nzonic as well....

+1 on the "colored"Scotchbrite's. I do woodworking, and they are great for rubbing out between coats of finish. Picked mine up at an auto parts store...while you're there, pick up some Mothers mag polish, and Ne'er Dull Wadding polish...great for keeping your metal mods in top finish.

What finish are the r91/kfl chimney finish? Just trying to get it back to that original shiny metal look since o have a mtank that exposes it. I'm kinda of a newb when it comes to sanding with sand paper and stuff so would u just recommend me getting one of the colored sb pads then metal/microfiber polish?

Ok checked my KFL tonight. Been sitting for 48 hrs unused. Bottom was wet so tells me it's the fill screw, Just like I was told earlier. Oh well I always carry a juice towel with me anyway.

Mine leaks from the fill screw too. I know there's some easy fixes like an o-ring or plumber's tape, but it's a small enough amount that I haven't felt a strong urge to be proactive with it yet.
