Really? No. It's not the drip tip. It has performed beautifully in the past with the same stock tip.

Just cleaned and rebuilt with a 1.5 ohm coil, less tight. Still no joy.
I'd love to throw some photos up, but right now it's eating so much time just fiddling with it. Perhaps in the future, if I'm still having trouble. Based on everything I've read (and that's a lot!) the build is fine, and I'm not making any rookie mistakes.
Someone suggested you send it to them... might not be a bad idea. Not actually giving it away, but having someone else build it and see what they experience. Do you know anyone locally that rebuilds, or have a shop that could give it a run and see how it vapes?

I agree, UncleChuck. Don't know anyone who rebuilds these around here. No flavor problems with my R91. Eventually I'll get another, and will see how that goes.

For me, the throat hit I'm getting is too much. I much prefer what I'm getting from cartotanks.
I like flavor and vapor, but don't want to cough.
Any suggestions on how to build this to get where I want to be?

For less throat hit, put the coil very close to the airhole on the deck. I mean like 1mm or less if you can manage it. Just be very sure you're not shorting it out between the posts.
Also, I dropped nic from 12mg on cartos to 6/8mg in a Kayfun. They're very efficient.
I always want more throat hit on my Kayfun. Wish I had the opposite problem.

What are some of the best looking drip tips to put on a Kayfun? I find myself going back to the stock drip tip alot because the small opening really ups the flavor for me and all my others are wide bore.
I do really like the stock tip, it almost makes the vapor chewy it's so dense. I'm constantly getting condensation in my mouth doing lung inhales though, so I rarely use it. I've been playing musical chairs with tips on my Kayfun, it seems to look good with a variety of tips:
It depends on the size of your drill bit, but 8 wraps gives me about 1.3 ohms, and that will work pretty nicely on a Provari and it will also be easy on your batteries.
I feel the same way... I've tried other tips but love the small ones on the KF's best. I'm not fond of the wide bore tips, personally. I've looked to try to find others like the Kayfuns.

I use a 5/64th bit, wrap with 32 ga wire 4x5 times and use cotton for my wicks, I get a read anywhere from 1.5-1.9 ohms.
I try shooting for 1.6 or 1.8 ohms, I'm liking it on my ProVari and the 18350's last 'bout 3hrs when I'm chain vaping.

These do all look good, but do you find that the flavor becomes muted with the wide bore drip tips?
