Thought as much..

Boba's has a super distinct taste when it starts gunking; the juice has so much particulate matter in it that when it gunks, the burnt gunk actually has a taste to it. I can always always recognize when it's started to gunk: the higher tones (raisin-ish) fades, and the smokey tobacco gets enhanced. I'm actually a fan of it up until a certain point

Hubby makes enough fun of me when I grab my lighted magnify glass...if I put that thing on I'd never hear the end of it

my wife kind of doesn't mind as long as I don't use them on her,she doesn't like me to look to closely. kind of reminds her of her make-up mirror.

Just a word of warning about those inexpensive plastic lens magnifying visors. They aren't close in quality to optical grade glass. If you're using it for the 5 or 10 minutes it takes to coil a kayfun it won't be a big deal. If on the other hand you decide to use it for something else where you'll be wearing it for an hour or more at a time it'll make a difference. Do yourself a favor and never get headaches from eyestrain and spend $40 to $50 for the ones made with optical grade glass.

im sure the 6 dollar ones I use are the cheapest in the world, they aren't even glass but they make a world of difference. I would say I use them for 20 minutes every other day but in that 20 minutes I flip up the visor when doing things where I don't need the mag. all in all I may actually be maging for 10 min every other day. but I love anything vape related so maybe I will invest in some optical glass ones! are you an optometrist?

I could never get Boba's wicking properly in my (authentic) KFL. Had to cover the airhole and dry pull milkshake style every 3 or 4 hits or I'd get that telltale hissing that lets me know I'm about to taste scorched cotton. Got a KFL+ clone that doesn't break a sweat with Boba's, although I have to tighten the airflow up a little more than I'm totally comfortable with. Boba's + massive KFL/cotton flavor is worth it though.

do you think the clone has bigger channels then the real one? you could be right but I would venture to say if it could work in a clone it should work in the real kayfun. when I bought my first kayfun I had a half bottle of bobas left and had no issues with it at all except changing out wicks often but who knows these things sometimes have a mind of their own.

Thus far, I can still wrap pretty nice coils with just my Walmart readers, but I do use a magnifying glass to check the coil placement on the deck. But that visor from Harbor Freight is tempting at $5.99!

I spent 12.00...bought 2 pair in case one breaks!! Very comfortable and really useful!!

Challenging the KFL tonight. I've just loaded it up with thick syrupy Bobas Bounty.

1.3 coil set at 3.8v - 11 watts.

The stuff needs to be chiseled out of the bottle.

No, not an optometrist nor other eye doctor. Just someone who started with one of the cheap plastic lensed visors who got terrible headaches when I started using it for long stretches at a time. Moving to one made of optical grade glass made a huge difference. That's why I warn folks away from the cheap visors if they're going to be using them for any amount of time. I doubt it would make much of a difference in use for building a coil or two. I just figure someone will get it for coils and think that it'd be useful for another hobby or activity and end up where I was.

I have one here for my hobbies but keep a cheap one at the local hobby shop for when I occasionally need to see something better. (I do repairs on model trains.) It's amazing how distorted things seem in the 5 minutes I use it because I'm used to how clear that the glass optics make things. When you compare them side by side it's obvious the difference between materials.

No, the channels on the clone are actually a bit more narrow. Problem is the stock draw on the authentic is too loose to pull the juice into the chamber. With the afc on the clone it's easy to compensate.

Now, I just got one of the new Tobeco blacked-out editions in the mail yesterday and that sucker flooded like a .... with only a couple turns of the afc screw. I figure it's probably going to work a treat with Boba and still give me the looser draw that I like!

The kayfun is truly revolutionary. It's cost efficient to mesh your own and eliminates the cost of the thought of buying "heads" ever again. I truly love this thing. I remember building it the first time it wasn't so successful but now I am a pro at it. I also learned a trick to keep reusing the coils (if it's in a alright condition lighting bright red orange or has no slow-delay).

1. carefully take out the dark organic cotton
2. Let it dry burn a couple of hits
3. Run warm water and gently wet the coils as they are lit orange. (Be sure to only wet the coils side ways and be careful not to wet the battery or base).
4. Once it looks like a brand new coil again, just stick that sucker back up with new organic coil again.

= Profit

makes sense about the airflow control and have heard that adjusting it not only helps the draw but contributes to better wicking . now I have 2 kaylites and 2 lite pluses and tbh (and maybe its because of my pg/vg ratio's) with the pluses I only notice a difference in the draw when adjusted.

no doubt the coils can be used for a very long time and like you said just clean them up maybe once a week (depending on your juice) and their good to go.

I'm using the same coil on my KFL since December 1. It sees an average of 2.5 - 3.0 mls per day. Rinse/dry burn after every third tank. Not a stinking thing wrong with it.

hows it going my friend? I know coils can last a long time because there is not much that really can go wrong with them as long as you clean them but actually never known someone to keep one in that long. I think a lot of people(myself included) fiddle with coils and rarely keep in one coil that long so its pretty neat to see that length of success. so is it the same piece of silica also?

My R91 & 2 KFL+'s have been rocking the same coils for over a month.
Same resistance and nothing's diminished.
My $5 50' of 30ga Kanthal will only last 'till about 2044 so yay.

You must use some gunky juice! My cotton wick lasts a week or more.

My juice doesn't gunk up tho. It just tastes nasty after a full tank with cotton. How thick is your wick??? I just want to know if you get more flavor with a thick wick or a thin one.
