I know... but, given how all this stuff interacts, sometimes I need to ask a question that pertains to multiple aspects, and it seems to never fail, someone will give me the ol "off topic" reproof. My brain isn't linear, and doesn't have category markers, and if you're talking about something in one thread, and it kinda veers, if someone upbraids you about being off-topic, take it somewhere else, then when you get to the somewhere else, *if* you can find the somewhere else, you have to then fill in the info gap of all the stuff that was discussed in that other thread. It's most aggravating. But that's why I figured no one answered, they were just waiting for someone to tell me to take it elsewhere.

Too bad these things aren't as easy as cigarettes, I could just go away and not bother anyone.

You're being ridiculous.

Yes, I like larger tanks, for some uses -- when I'm at my folks' all day long for instance. But, since I lower my nic level at night, the larger size tank can be kind of a pain at times too -- 3 times last week since I got the kayfun, after dinner I had to break it all down, transfer whatever was left in the tank back to the bottle, clean it up and refill with the lower nic.

But, mainly I wanted a nano for when we're just out and about on short errands, grocery store, etc, just for it being smaller.

I wasn't getting really good flavor with it, but last night I think I discovered why; I was using the "less is more" axiom when I wicked it with the organic cotton, but I don't think there was enough wick; even soaked with ejuice, it was barely half-filling the coil. That doesn't really explain to me why I kept tasting *cotton* -- not burnt cotton, just cotton -- but the taste surely wasn't right, and almost no TH at all, which I knew from the full-size wasn't right.

I was talking to some others, primarily JeremyR, about battery life, and I really need higher-ohm coils if I want max battery life; apparently the folks who say that kayfuns do better with coils in the 1 to 2 ohm range may be using mechanicals, where they can't change the power setting, unlike me with my Sigelei. So I did another coil, this one a solid 2.3 ohms, and tried to do a better job with the cotton, and I did go back to the full size kayfun; this coil and this wick seem fine, so later today when I need to decrease the nic level, I'll try the nano again and see if I like it better with a better coil and wick.

Andria the simplest solution to your is buy more kayfuns , if you want a smaller form factor the Kayfun mini clones are available if price is an issue , I've got two 3.1 clones and need at least one more , preferably two though to accommodate my wants and needs . BTW I run my 3.1's between 1.5 - 1.7 ohms on my SVD , it's really a matter of personal preference , on a regulated mod if you want more battery life you can always switch to a battery with a higher mah rating .

You seem to be figuring stuff out pretty well, Andria, so I'll just post this for reference. Here's how you want your cotton and coil to look after dry wicking. Keep in mind that the cotton I have in the coil is not compressed or rolled too much. It's just loose in there.

For those of us north of the border, Sephora.ca carries KGD and Shiseido (both in stock right now) and only charges $7.95 to ship to Canada. I really like the KGD in my KFL+s but just ordered some Shiseido to compare. Anyone out there tried both?

Dusty, you should try the KGD suggested here! All the fibers already go in one direction, all you need to do is cut off a piece and you're set. I've tried cotton balls, organic cotton balls, and CVS sterile rolled. I liked the sterile rolled the best, but KGD dominates all them as far as ease of use and, most important, flavor.

I've ordered the 140 pack of Muji unbleached from HK. Same style as KGD at 7.50 for the pack.

Shipping was free, although I'd be lucky if it gets here within a month. It shipped earlier today.

I may just finish another whole cotton ball while I'm waiting for it to arrive. :)

I've never had trouble with getting the fibres on the cotton balls to line up straight, but I've not been able to find unbleached here, hence the purchase..

Cool man. I haven't heard about Muji, but if it's reported to be as good as KGD you'll be happy with it. What I like about this high quality cotton is how it brings out nuances in juices I hadn't noticed before and does a lot to enhance complex but milder NETs. Porch Rocker for example offers a lot more complexity that I can pick up on with KGD compared to previous cottons.

Dusty, I'll send you some KGD when mine arrives. It shipped today.

Thanks Bridge! I'll get some Muji sent you once it arrives as well. We'll compare notes.. ;)

I do plan to buy at least one more, though now I'm curious about RDAs too. But I'm concerned that the "mini" kayfuns might not really be much of an improvement over the other small tanks I've used; it does seem to me that part of the reason the kayfun is so good is the actual size/shape of it; the pure physics of the design is really excellent, and changing it even slightly might compromise that excellence. I had thought that might be true of the nano when I tried it yesterday, but then I found that the wick was really inadequate, so I still need to try it again with a coil and wick that I know works really well in the regular size version. Tonight I got busy making dinner so I just grabbed my UDCT when it was time to decrease nic level, but since I vaped the bigger one fairly low earlier, it's really about time to break it down and clean and refill anyway, so I may do that before bed.

You know I have spent so much money getting caught up in all the new cool stuff and over a grand or two later I realized the best vape for me really is some cotton and my igo-L and my kayfun lite plus clone (once I get it working lol that thing is as fiddily as a teen on prom night lmao). But yea for me it's that simple. I love my kayfun but it gets a little crazy sometimes lol.

Well, that's good news, as I suspect the first RDA I get will be the IGO-L; inexpensive, and doesn't have so many things sticking out of the deck that I can't figure out what goes where. :D

Hope I don't get in trouble for straying but yes igo-L is simple single coil. I did drill mine out but kinda wish I didn't. I have done the cool coils an dual coils and drill stuff out but don't care for that or sub ohms. I'm a flavor chaser not a cloud chaser. So that's where the kayfun comes in. The kayfun seems that no matter what juice you put in it it'll blow out some honking clouds lol with great great taste. Even better than drippers in my own opinion. For instance I have a home made (not mine) pecan pie eliquid and in my igo it's ok. In my kayfun it's literally so harsh from the nicotine but at the same time so sweet like sugar that it feels as though I are a spoon of sugar aha. In my igo at the moment I have 18mg starship one from space jam but in my kayfun I have to use 12mg of the same juice. Something about that chimney that just gets it perfect. But if you want more I do or advice from me about the igo-L feel free to message me and ask. I'll always recomend these two rebuildables. Even the kayfun which took me a billion times to get it right aha.

I did get to changing around my kayfun after I got done with the dishes, using the same coil/wick I used today in the regular size kf, and the nano does seem much better than yesterday, with that very inadequate wick.

EDIT: but I do seem to need a lower wattage setting; just got a couple dry hits, although I got none of that all day with the regular size kf.

I do seem to be erring on the side of too little wick than too much, probably because I'm so afraid of that awful dry hit taste. I've had more than enough of that already. :D Burnt cotton is not at all tasty.
