sorry couldnt resist that one. Although i really don't know if there is an easy way to tell, i did use to have a water softener system because of really hard water. It was super weird to get used to because my skin felt slippery when wet. whenever i rinsed with soap, it always felt like the soap never rinsed off.

I fill my kayfuns with 4ml at a time. I love going all day without refilling.

I have read quite a few of your posts Ricks, thanks.

I like my Kayfuns too. It seems like the Lite plus is more like a full flavor cigarette (when the air is wide open.) and the 3.1 is more like a light cigarette. The 3.1 has a little bit more of an airy draw, but great flavor. My first lite plus wasn't that hot so i wasnt that big on them, but the second and third one much better, all clones.

I see your from Moscow, Welcome!

It doesn't I grew up with "egg water" soft water that smells like rotten eggs.
First time i got an rba I'm it took about 45 minutes of trying to get the soap out. When I finally thought I did the vape tastes like burnt dawn.
Started all over again with bottled.
Best use I've ever had for evian.

Ah, common issue with clones, at least in my experience. Something that I do for aaaall my new attys and works like a charm

1) fully disassemble every. Single. Component.

2) put all o rings and plastic parts aside

3) soak all other parts in newly boiled water + a ton of dawn dishwashing soap for 15 mins

4) at the end of this first soak, use a qtip and use it to scrub all the surfaces and the center post channel inside the atty

5) rinse off, and repeat soak as in part 3

6) at end of soak, rinse and it's ready

Works for me everytime :) hope that helps!

ETA: I handwash all the plastic or rubber components by hand with warm water and dawn.

Cool I'll try that. What I did before was soak it in hot water with vinegar in my ultra sonic cleaner but I guess that didn't do the trick. Also I forgot to remove o rings, so they got weird and not very elastic after I took them out. I already refilled that Kfl twice with juice and it still tastes funny... and scratchy wispy throat hit.

If its not the residues, could it be the taste of the cotton? not sure what your actually tasting but the only other funk taste I know of is when there is too much cotton in the coil. This results in a nasty taste for sure.

I think it's just me not washing the Kayfun out well enough, still that metallic taste. I haven't washed it since the first time so I'll do it later when I have my supplies to trick rewick it. I don't think it's the cotton, I used the same stuff in my other Kayfun.

I don't claim to be someone that can fix all problems with the kayfuns but with mine anyways, it performs awesome 100 percent of the time. I never owned a clone and I'm sure those may have possible issues that is a little harder to get right. I love these devices and love working on them. If anyone is having issues with their kayfun and is about to give up and don't mind paying a couple bucks to send them to me. I would gladly take a look and get it going. Keep in the problematic set up so I can evaluate. I then will try to get working perfectly and let you know why there were issues. I really wouldn't mind even if I was sent 50 of them.

Water actually rinses soap better when its soft. You use less soap when its soft. The 'slimy/soapy' feeling you get with soft water is actually your own oils that havent been stripped away by the hard water, and the minerals left in their place... And thats the rub. Hard water does strip oils. Especially light oils.

If you think your KF is not getting cleaned (I had an Origen that had a waxy residue that was very hard to get off), then forget the soap and hot water and strip the plastic insulators off it along with the o-rings and give it an acetone bath. If its still 'dirty' after that, it aint the KF.

What about soaking in mouthwash? Vodka? Vinegar? Nail polish remover?

I've read quite a few people using vodka and vinegar. I've used vinegar myself once and went back and redid it with dawn to get the vinegar taste out. Not sure if I didn't rinse it well enough or not. Apparently soft water rinses better since I was corrected about my experience up above maybe they can tell you. How I did it wrong and got my nasty Italian body oils all over my kfun when my hands were in latex surgical gloves.
Sorry but I hate when someone tells me that my own experiences are figments of my imagination when I'm just trying to help a new person not have to replicate a crappy experience I had.
I spent 33 years bathing soft water I kind of know how it reach with soap. I do bathe twice a day.

Some of you may remember my trials and tribulations with my Russian 91, just ordered $31.02 Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Style Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5ml) - 1:1 clone / stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping received it today, and wow what an amazing device, 1000x times better than my Russian. Just curious though I don't have the air-hole screw in at all, and the drag is still tight, anything I can do?

with my real kayfun lites, I drilled out the airholes to 3/64th I believe (will check that) basically in my lites, I took out the 510 screw and positive block, along with coil and such. then using the best bit you can buy, drill out the side air hole. gotta go super slow but its not too bad. this bores out the air hole all the way to the 510 channel. same thing with my lite pluses, the only difference is to take out the afc screw. after this rinse and wash real good. this does open the draw somewhat and is noticeable, you do feel the difference but its not a major difference. anymore then the 3/64th and it wont make a difference because of the hole in the 510 screw. I believe the stock air hole in my kayfuns were 1/16 to start, do you know what the size is in yours? before doing this or even thinking about it, make sure there is no obstructions in the device. I have heard of some clones having shards of metal inside the afc and or air holes.
