Had a noob here on ECF tell me the other day that there are far better options than a Provari for the same money. He had 7 posts. Or should I say we had 19,656 combined between us. :)

I have, in the past, stated that there are better devices than the provari based on features and power, though I never brought price into the equation. No need to misrepresent my argument or be snarky about my post count. :p

We used to have one shop, now we have 8 or 9 but it's nice because one mainly sells mechs, gennys and drippers. Another mostly egos and pts and another one focuses on regulated and tank systems. The test are all in between. One shop will only sell clones while another does only authentic(he regrets that). But the staff is mixed. I've seem one shop where the staff are pretty dumb. I went in just to get coils for my chicks tumblr and ship I was in there the guy asks what I had. I told him a probari and kayfun. Then he asks me what kind of coil. So I told him it was a 1.4 ohm single coil. Then he asks where did I find a 1.4 ohm coil he's seen 1.5 and 1.8. Smh
That's pretty funny about the elusive 1.4 coil. but wow, you guys have some serious vape shops!

Yeah the competition has been great for us(consumer). Me being the hobbyist in it I can tell who opened up to cash in and who is really into it. Then we have the "elitist" vapor shop. They'll talk to me if I have my pro-thingy or mech; but if I roll in with my wife's MVP and ask they'll help. I would love to go in with the drill just to see how they act lol.
Bad part of that shop is they the best juice selection of any of them. But their house juice is blah. -
My friends place only sells his house juice but it is awesome!!! In fact I need to get another bottle of his version of Apple pie.

My provari was my first mod purchased in January 2013 and after about ten others mods. I still think it's a great mod.... although it's been collecting dust for awhile just lately. To think what I used to run on it compared to the kayfun or others is just leaps and bounds. It was def "future proof" back then and seems to be still today.

The provari is not for subohmers. It is not for megawatters. It is for those main stream regulated vape people. They are not interested in having them wash dishes, do the laundry, or fix the car. They want to put batteries in it, push a button and vape the same pull as the last pull month in, month out, year in, year out without fail. If there is a device that does that better, then I don't know what it is. And I agree with Diver. Of all the PVs I've owned I would keep the Provari before I kept any other one.

Yeah my girlfriend remembers me buying that one mod cause it was a significant purchase when I was trying to get off cigs. To this day she still tries to get me to sell it when I get a new toy. I always have to find a way to change the subject.

Too bad it doesn't have Bluetooth :p

I think it's going to be like a Rolex. Expensive, they never change, but people keep buying them. :)

Question: If you do the calculation, a 30ga., 10-wrap, 2mm ID Kanthal microcoil should yield 2.46 ohms. 3.515" includes 1/4" legs @ 0.7 ohms per inch. Yet nearly everyone of us report we get about 2.0 ohms with this design. Anyone have any ideas as to why the difference?
Maybe it's the oxidation that's induced in the dry burn squeeze. until a micro coil is oxidized it seems the ohms are higher
