20-25 watts here and I love the hot vape makes it feel more like the heat from a real analog to me.Some juices just do not work out at high watts though and that tends to throw a monkey wrench in your vaping day.I build my coils at .5 single or dual coil builds and I have one juice (Prime15) i go to .3 for and still crank up the watts to get that hot vape,or go lower watts depending on the device to get that hot vape that is desired.Low wattage vaping for me just does not cut it for me it's too cool, not enough of the flavor comes thru, and it is not as satisfying of a vape.I do like to relax and kick back watching a show and just chuck clouds and fog the room though,..who does not enjoy that.

At the end of the day if it the vape works for you and keeps you off analogs,...that's all that counts.

I also wanted to get away from cartos after 3 of 4 Vea cartos were dead out of the box. $10 for 3 and each usually don't last more than 2-3 days w/o a LOT of degradation in vape quality. I knew the initial investment into RBA's were more expensive but the on-going cost is dirt cheap. And I'm much more satisfied. I started with Blu and Vea e-cigs from Johnson Creek initially over 2 yrs ago but it just didn't cut it and I went back to analogs (along with those ecigs) for about 9 months. I'm positive I won't be relapsing again with RBA's and RDA's. I find it fun and relaxing doing a rebuild too.

Good ole Johnson Creek. I started out with them. Overpriced and it's not even good juice.

I was spending $40-$80 per month with them between carts, canteen and juice. I got a "we miss you, here's 20% off your next order" email from them a couple of months ago. They also added a mini tank with replaceable coil to their line up. Their quality went down while their prices stayed the same.

I just vaped their juice. Silverthorn and Tennessee Cured.

I still have a bit of Silverthorn left and a new 15ml bottle of Genuine No 22 that I wanted to try but never got around to trying.

They didn't have Genuine 22 when I was a customer. Silverthorn was new at the time. I mixed it 50/50 with TC. I thought it was great then. Now? Yuck!

Man, I've learned a lot here recently. I know that "more" is good (Japanese cotton for me). I also just saw Kiwi's post 13780 and just mounted up a 2-3-2 spaced coil with 29G which is the bomb. Give it a try out there. I'm making my own (and trading with the NETs folks) Cigar and Pipe extracts and mixing my own juices. And I'm currently at about a 1.3 ohm coil and firing 12 watts on my Sigelei 20W. All in about 5 months and I went through the progression that I imagine many of us do in terms of hardware and juice. Never a cigarette smoker but a pretty heavy cigar guy and that's over. I still don't inhale much but exhale every third puff or so through my nose for the really nice flavor and nic. And I read all of your posts while vaping with my left hand. Not a bad transition from 3-6 heavy cigars a day. I'm intrigued by the DNA40 TC technology and am keeping my eye on the Erlkonigin, SquapeR, and GEMs for my next rebuildables. So thanks, folks, for all of the posts and the sharing. It may not be totally healthy but it sure beats where we were. Cheers.

Yeah, G22 just came out when I ordered (last order from them). I liked Silverthorn and TC. There were a few others that were good back then. I mixed flavors too.

I'm waiting for the VaporShark rDNA 40. It was supposed to ship out this week but it got delayed to next week.

I got an ErlK clone earlier this week and I've been using it for the last few days. It's good but really tricky to set up, especially the wicks. The only other RBA I'm interested in is the Lemo Drop and the next version of the KF. I do have another KFL+ v2 and ErlK clone coming sometime next week (hopefully) from FC.

I need to get a magnifier, great idea.

I'm glad I found this place, so much help. The local b&m advised me to use silica and just wrap the wire for starting out, nice to have help and support jumping right into micro coils and cotton here.

i tried the stationary magnifiers and didn't quite like them because, well because there just that, stationary. i then tried the visor thingamajigs and really like it. cheap too.

With my new ZNA clone I had to raise the ohms in my Kayfuns from 1.8 to 2.5 just to be able to use it. I used to burn them at 5-6 watts with my other PV's that had lower watt levels. With the ZNA, I tried using 32g kanthal, 6 wraps at 2.5ohms and it was ok. Tonight I will be trying 30g with 10 wraps at 2.5ohms. Thats the lowest ohms I can use at 7watts. Hoping for a little better flavor. I vape at 7-9 watts also. Any higher won't work for me.

That's the situation I found myself in with the iStick, nothing I had worked to my taste at 1.8 ohms. I'm getting a VS DNA40 not because it does 40 watts but because it does 1 watt. I'm sure many find that strange but it will work for me.

Sucks getting old, huh?

I'm 44 and I wear contacts. I had to start using reading glasses a few years ago. Weird thing is, without contacts, I dont' need reading glasses. I might have to try one of those visor things.

I'm also getting a rDNA 40. The 40 watts is the least attractive feature to me.

thinner wicking is the key for this vertical build?

Oh NOPE. I actually ended up building thicker wicks now :)

I was referring to the height of your cotton. Like. Vertically, your cotton extends past the top most part of the coil
