I don't know these people anymore... They don't dress women clothes during a rebuild and on another thread I discovered that they actually use scissors to cut and shape rayon wicks instead of chewing them off properly with their teeth. What's next? Making coils with a mandrel? Measuring resistance?

made some adjustment to the coil, lower it down touching the base, reworked not extending to the top of the coil.... ahhh same problem and now less vapor production... I'm clueless now....

Strange. Try using it a little while more. Take 10 to 15 drags and see if it breaks in. I have no idea why tho

That looks better. I don't like how the free negative leg looks, though. A little longer than it needs to be, but it's surrounded by juiced cotton, so it should be fine.

I'll say this, it's now common opinion that for a horizontal coil, more is more when it comes to cotton. This is not the case with a vertical coil build. Packing or surrounding the coil with too much cotton can overload it and cause flooding. Try reducing the overall wraps of cotton you have there, then when the barrel is on, just very loosely pack in some fluffed up cotton.

As for vapor production, my experience with vertical coils in a Kayfun is that you need more wattage. I typically run my horizontals on a DNA30 at around 14 Watts. I will run a vertical coil north of 16 Watts to get the same vapor output.

before i start working on it, let ask a question... how big of the coil should be, 2mm, 2.4mm, or 2.7mm?

I used 2.7mm before in the posted pics, should i go smaller?

I've used all 3 sizes with great results. My latest build is 2.4mm (2.38mm) and it's awesome. The wick is much more important, IMO.

Cool, will try 26G wire 2.4mm coil aiming ~1.1ohm

I'm also using 28g on a horizontal micro coil @ 1.7 ohms. The 28g will heat up faster than a 26g wire. I found 1.4-1.8 to be a good range for my KF's.

Try it out, see how YOU like it.
