Same silica, same wire, same kayfun. Has to be the liquid or my taste buds are shot. Although my other liquid is great.

You could possibly have vapors tongue.Try making(or buying)a strong menthol juice to use when this happens.I have a 30ml bottle of a very good strong menthol I made up to vape when I get vapors tongue, and it does work. After a good 10-15 minutes vaping the menthol, the flavor is back from the other juice. It does not have to be a menthol flavor either that is just what works for me.

If you vape the juice you are having problems with now constantly,i would be willing to bet you have vapors tongue.

Lol the color of a juice can be a very very deceiving indicator of how junky a juice is.

Juice from vendors who use A TON of sugar-analogs can have clear juice (casts dirty looks at nicoticket) but are gunky gunky juice. Nods.

I concur what The Kiwi sais. I, sometimes use sweetener in my juices. Some times too much of it. And even though, the juice comes out clear like water, it gunks up my coils in a hurry.

Same here.. I've got some crystal clear blueberry, grape, and blue raspberry that makes my coils black as hell after even 2ml!

I'm going to have to stick up for the less is more philosophy. I had been doing the heavy cotton with good results but it seems to coke up the coil more. With less is more there is no room for error but if you get the lengths right and spread the cotton ,fan it out over the deck, it really does the trick. The draw is better as well as the taste. But it can be frustrating to get right.

Last night I tried stuffing as much cotton through my KF coil as reasonably possible, just to see what the effect would be. This was KGD, stripped of the denser outer layers and rolled between my fingers to make it more compact.

At my usual setting of 12 watts, the only definite difference was that it was quieter, making fewer crackling noises during a draw. Subjectively, throat hit seemed to be less, vapor production about the same, flavor maybe a bit muted. No dry hits, but then I don't do rapid back-to-back drags either.

I'll rewick it after finishing this tank and go back to my usual setup. I don't mind a bit of crackling but do mind using more cotton than necessary for good performance.

How much was 'as reasonably possible' ?

I was having probs with dry hits off a fresh battery and was told to use as much as poss which i did. Prob solved.

I use kgd as well and I reckon I use just under 1cm over the rim.

I just received an Infinite KFL+ v2 from Focalecig. The airhole is smaller than my EHPro KFL+ v1 (1.5mm vs 2mm). It whistled like crazy until I took out the bottom adjustment screw. Now it's on par with my v1. It came with a mini tank setup (tank and short chimney). All for under $25 shipped (code: fcvapingcheap for 10% off). Highly recommended.

More is better because more always works, less does not always work. There is an optimal point that is something less than more and something more than less. But when in doubt, use more. That is what we are saying.

I prefer just right to more than right or less than right. :?:

Yeah Ive had mine a week now and struggled every time I tried to "eyeball" it (its my first RBA, im used to building Protanks). I gave in and started doing the "trim the tails on the chimney" trick and it seems to be just the right amount.. No bad vapes or dry hits for two days now! Of course this morning I woke up and realized I forgot to pull the fill screw back in last night.. Don't drink and build haha!

Who wouldn't? But then when you have people get on this thread who have struggled for weeks and months getting their KFL to work right, it's easiest to just tell them to use more instead of less so they get less dry hits and more good hits so they are more happy and less frustrated. Eventually when there is more opportunity we can tell them to use a little less so they have even more success even though it doesn't seem right that using less gives them more...more or less. :)

Yes, more happy is just right. But too happy and they lock you up. ;)

(Bronze, I am not busting on you. Your help has been invaluable in this thread [along with a few others]. I'm just happy.)
