You know? Life was so much easier before I found this forum. I thought I was reasonably satisfied with my V2s until I found out there was so much more. Anyway, after spending way too much time between here and reviews on you-tube, I think I've gotten my choices narrowed down to between the Kgo and the E-power. Which do you prefer?

This is a toss up..I usually recommend either/or. I do like the KGO a lot, and they serve me well. The only drawback in this comparison is that they use proprietary batteries where as the E-power uses changeable batteries for much less. Don't know for sure about the DCC/LR issues being fixed or not, but have heard people that don't have the problem..tough call..

Update: I wound up going with the E-power from Crystal Clear Vaping. It looks like a great deal: it also includes a 5-pack of the 1.7 ohm lr "resurrector" cartomizers and 30 ml of juice! We'll see if any problems pop up. I also ordered the combo pack of the same carts: 15 for $21.40, plus a drip tip.

I think the battery inside the KGO is the same 14650. You may say the same thing with Egos with 1000mah and above. That's why most people love them. 14650 batts are among the best performers.

The difference is that the E-Power has a removable battery which is a great advantage over one with a fixed housing. I have yet to see differences in their switches on YT. Whether one has a regulated one or not.

I have had an e-power 14650 for about a week. It does not have a 5 click on and off, it has a button cover the light on the switch is blue. But it is pcb-drivin, to regulate it at 3.7 volts.
Or so the discription states. It vapes the same start to needing recharge. I use smoketex xl 1.7 ohm single coil carts as was recommend to me on ecf. So far I find no fault with this ecig, it has checked all the boxes for me.

+1 to that.

But I would add that some users experience issues with the switch (which is replaceable, and I think there are some revisions out there, not sure). The only other thing to keep in mind (which may not be a deal breaker) is that the outer threads do not match the standard eGo outer (cone) threads; the KGO's do match, however. So you won't be able to directly use stuff made specifically for eGo, such as these Stardust things or whatever else.

Good to know. Is this the new switch? (The new one has the 5 click on/off function). One of the things that I liked about this device is that the parts are all replaceable. A replacement switch is under $10 at CCV, unlike having to replace the TGO battery at almost $25.

No it is the original switch with no 5 click. I'm getting a new switch as soon as I get around to it. BTW, you can get 14650s at 1600mAh. I got them from electronicnicstix in Utah.

    ^^ This
While they are all 510 connection, the cone threads on the e-power are e-power only, and larger than the normal eGo cone threads. So any device (like the Stardust) that has an eGo skirt will not fit without also using an extension. My e-power has gathered dust now for about 6 months.

Wow! I didn't know that. That's quite surprising, since I thought size and mAH were closely linked. I'll definitely check it out. Do they use the same charger? I'd guess they would.

Not necessarily. You can get quite a range of mah in most battery sizes. You also have to realize that some battery manufacturers exaggerate their mah ratings, especially the *fire brands. You can use the same external charger on any cylindrical generic lithium battery of the same size, regardless of the mah. The only difference is that the higher mah battery will take longer to charge. One caveat is don't charge a battery with a charger whose output mah is higher than that of the battery. But that's a rare situation to run into with any of the larger batteries.

I'm going to suggest to you that you buy pass both of these devices and get yourself two eGo USB passthroughs. These arent real passthroughs, instead they are simply 650 mah batteries that you can use while charging. They go for about $22 at my vapor store. They charge via usb and are 510 threaded. I've had two of these for going on 7 months now, not one single issues with either.

I had an e-power but like another poster said, it's collecting dust. The button on the e-power to me is aggravating. It's like almost flush with the body, so say you are driving and night and really cant look down to find it, well you can't feel it either so its a pain in the ..... The genuine eGo has a raised button that you can feel for and find easily without your eyes. The eGos I own are also smaller about the size of a lipstick tube. Whereas the e-power is bulky. I've also had some of the cartomizer/atomizer issues mentioned above. It just behaves wonky.

I have an E-Power 14650 and love it. Mine was purchased from Hoosier in November and is still going strong with everyday use. In fact I have three of these. The additional two are spares and were purchased inexpensively from parts.

My E-Power 14650s have the upgraded switch modules. Blue LED, regulated 3.7V, five-click switch safety, good for 1.5 ohm dual coil LR or 1.7 ohm LR single coil. My favorite carto is the Smoketech single coil 2.0 ohm LR XL. I find the 1.7ohm LR a little too hot.

The stainless steel version looks great and has held up very well. Good protected 14650 batteries cost me less than $4 apiece. Needless to say, I have a lot of 14650 batts. I have a big charger and charge up all six or seven 14650s I use during the week at the same time on the weekend.
