Normally when I do a new batch of juice, be it a natural extract or a flavor mix (or combination of both) I let the mix steep for -at least- a couple of weeks before bottling. However, when tasting a new batch, usually one or two ml a couple of hours after it cooled, just to see if it will require something else, I notice that while the first draws are flat and insipid, as the tank level drops the juice sweetens and acquires body and roundness. If I get another sample from the batch, it will be insipid again until after several days it begins to develop.

I figure that the small volume and the heath produced in the tank by the coils produce an accelerated steeping. Has anyone kicked a new batch of juice by heathing it in small containers? I was thinking of dividing small quantities (~20ml) in small but wide pirex containers in the MX and flash for a few seconds to bring the temp up to 80°~85°C (watch out users!), let cool and repeat three or four times giving a good stir in between oven sessions. I'd lie to think that would give the maduration process a good kick-start.

No point in reinventing warm water tho, experiences anyone?

When I first started creating my own juice, way back in January :) I would mix my PG, VG and flavoring. I would warm the mixture on a hot plate for a while. Then I would let the mixture cool and blend in the nicotine. After vaping a sample I would flush the "Septic Sauce" because that's all it was good for. At the time I didn't know that heating the mixture was causing the nasty flavor. I wasted a bunch of ingredients. Needless to say, I don't use heat anymore. Doubt I was even getting up to 85 C.

Thanks folks! Good tips all. The missus has a slow cooker with a good temp control. I'll try that if she allows. OTOH, ultrasnic cleaners of small size are quite cheap. I might get one; it will come handy for cleaning attys in any case.

A couple of hours ago I tried a NET juice I did over the weekend, just 1.5ml of it. As it went down it became much sweeter and aromatic, so yes, I think judicious prolonged heath does hurry the steeping process. I'll try 8 hours at 40°C with half the new batch and compare.
