lol, sorry about the near-heart-attack, I did want to shock you, but not kill you :p
I also didn't expect 'Mr. Ruyan' to read/answer my post! Just an FYI, I think the fact that Ruyan is active in this forum has been a big deciding factor for me. I'm an open source developer, and seeing how the supplier is 'close to the community' reminded me of open source, and I liked that.
Can't wait to confirm everything you said! :)

Would it sound self serving to say, I'M REALLY glad he's on here, too?

But seriously, Ludo, I think you're really smart to be participating here. This is a niche market, and so it's a small community. With just a little effort at participating in the few forums that exist, you can generate a LOT of goodwill. I'd love to see you take part in other threads, too. I'm sure you've figured out a lot about these devices that we could benefit from, and likewise, our comments about e-smoking in general will doubtless spark ideas for you.

Hi everyone

good news, bad news story and I need some of that good advice.

The good news is I received both Kissboxes today and I'm glad to say they're all I expected them to be. I also got a load of free cartridges - I think because one of my flavours was out of stock. Harry is a great guy and really on top of it. I think the quality of these cigs has been pretty well covered by the forum, so I won't wax any more lyrical (in this post, anyway).

The bad news is my Yentl has stopped working. I think it's the atomiser. I used it for about two hours (on and off) and then it stopped producing vapour. The batteries are OK (show up steady green on the charger and the LED glows on the auto version when I draw on it). I changed the cartridge with no effect. Also I note that both Classic and Yentl sort of 'hiss' on the draw like a kettle boiling - is this normal? This has stopped happening with the Yentl.

So, do you think it's a dead atomiser? I'm kind of hoping that if I leave it overnight (separated) it will dry out or spontaneously recover. I'm going to give the battery a good long charge in case it's a power issue.

The Yentl was really doing it for me - smooth smoke, good hit, great flavour (apple medium). My Classic is currently loaded with apple zero-nic cos I knew I'd be overusing them today. Luckily I have another couple of e-cigs so I can still get my hit.

You can tell a high quality product by how you react when you lose the use of it - I feel like someone stole my car!

The Emp

the hissing and bubbling is a kinda good sign.. its shows there is plenty of liquid in the heater pot and its being cooked... he he

its absence with the one that isnt producing smoke shows the liquid either isnt in the pot or isnt being cooked.. he he

switches can fail.. try both.. batteries can fail.. try both.. if u had another atomizer i would say try that.. i bet u aint thow.. he he

offering a couple of free atomisers with the starter kit would save these "guarantee" folks lots of trouble.. the free ones wouldnt be guaranteed of course..

Emp, sorry to hear that.

Did you charge the batteries for 16 hours?
You have to do that, even if the light shows green, it has to be on there for 16 hours, then smoke for 20 min, and then an other 4 hours of charging.

all the lithium chargers i have switch off when the done light (normally green) comes on.. off.. they pass no more current.. leaving the battery on after this will do nothing..

ones that dont switch off could be considered dangerous with some unprotected batteries.. overcharged lithium cells can catch fire..

this leave on for many (extra) hours sounds like one of these internet myths that do the rounds to me..

How would that work, exactly? If one fails, how do you know if it's the warranteed one, or the free, unwarranteed one? :D

Thanks sanneke

Good guess - I haven't had 'em for 16 hours yet - hope I haven't tanked the atomiser. It was more than flesh could bear (my flesh, anyway) to leave these guys perking away on the charger for the full 16 without having a toke on them. I know I shoulda played by the rules, I knew it was asking for it, but they're just too slick!

Hi Trog

Yup, another bullseye (my other webpage is a JANTY, and guess who's checking out a couple of spare atomisers right now?)

Doesn't seem to be the case Trog. The Janty-loaders I know (and granted that's the not-kissbox-ones) and most other chargers around for the cigs check, once the charger is green, every few seconds if the battery can take more loading again. And they check that by putting in a tiny bit of a charge. If they keep on doing that for 12 more hours, that leads to a considerably more charged battery. While the light has been green all that time.
At least that's what I have been told, by several people that should know; and I see no reason to not believe them, if indeed my battery goes on for longer after 7 or 8 hours then it does after 3 or 4 hours of charging; with the light turning green at that point.
But maybe the Njoy has a charger that works differently; I don't know that one after all. :)

I read the instruction from the kiss box.
It says in there to charge them for 16 hours.

I know I know, that's painful after receiving the BOX after waiting sooooooo long.

I also know that there's a lady selling cheap e-cig on E bay, claiming that if you leave your batteries charging overnight, it will fry them.
Maybe those will do that.

I've left my njoy and kiss charge overnight, every night, and they never "fried".

There's always a fresh battery waiting for me in the morning.
Makes a world of difference when "smoking" your electronic cigarette.
Yeah!

"the hissing and bubbling is a kinda good sign.. its shows there is plenty of liquid in the heater pot and its being cooked"

Absolutely! No hissing and bubbling means battery not charged or too much liquid in the atomizer (wash it, blow through it, dry it with a hairdryer) or dead atomizer (resistance is much above or under 3.5 Ohm). It's always good to try with both batteries, if it doesn't react to any of the batteries and you have washed it etc... then it is probably a dead atomizer (if you measure the resistance with a Ohm meter and it doesn't show 3.5 but far less or far more)

In case of dead item, we replace for free of course.

Concerning the replacements for those who need their switches and/or USB-E cable for the JANTY KISSBOX CLASSIC replaced: these new ones will arrive in Holland next Friday only, due to Holiday in China this week :-(

This means we will only be able to send out all switch and/or USB-E cable replacements asked by customers on Friday + Saturday morning and then monday morning.

Not to complain, but to clarify, you mean that you'll get them Friday the 13th, and ship them Monday the 16th?

Not your fault, but dang it! :x Is it just me, or do the Chinese have too many holidays??? I mean, I've only just started ordering or being affected by orders from China since the end of March or so, and already there's been at least 3, and I think maybe 4 holidays causing delays. :evil:HEY! Has anyone gfot a Chinese calander?? :?:

Humm... does that mean that ruyan will not ship my KISSBOX until they receive the new switches/usb-e cables? so I'll have to wait one more week ? or will I receive my shipment as soon as possible (being shipped on monday), and once you receive the new switches/usb-e cables, then you'll send a second shipment with those replacement parts?
I would (obviously) prefer to get  my KISSBOX as soon as possible rather than having to wait an extra week for the new parts...

Ludo, could you answer me about this ? I would really like to get it as soon as possible but I don't know about your policies about such things....

Also, as soon as I received my order confirmation (2 days ago) I replied to info@ruyanexpress.com because I forgot to mention in the comments of my order that I'd like all the extra cardridges I ordered to be the Janty HD cartridges.. I know that's the ones you send with the KISSBOX, but I ordered 40 extra cartridges, but it was the 'normal' ones since the HD ones aren't available yet through the website. I didn't get an answer yet, so I'm wondering if I sent it to the right email.... and I just realized that I also forgot to mention that I'd like a US power plug (if possible)... So if it's possible, and not too late, could you tell me where I should ask for this?
I know this forum isn't the ruyan hotline, so sorry if I'm off topic.

Thanks,
KaKaRoTo
