Beans - take care of that knee! Ice it as much as you can bear and take it really easy for a few days! Got no exercise today other than standing around talking to potential adopters. Tomorrow is housework and yardwork and maybe a short walk thrown in :) What am I talking about tomorrow for? It's today! I should be up in a few hours lolol

I hope that knee is doing better today Beans. Take it easy.

Congrats on the big weight loss and maintaining it Spaz. Glad to have you here.
Oh, and the reason I want to join the thread is because I have to keep it in my head that I'm doing this, if that makes sense. It's easy to slip back into bad habits. While it is a big part of my lifestyle now, it's still something I have to consciously think about. It's a lot easier than it used to be, but it's still work.
Yes, it more than makes sense to me. It is definitely work to lead a healthy lifestyle for some of us anyhow.

Just too funny on the recliner handle Sun......

Skypea-glad to see you pop in! No Zumba for me, but when no ones around I will dance to my favorite songs when they come on the radio-LOL.
In my younger days we used to go out dancing all the time. I figure the extra moving around does me good-yea that's it, dance it off. Shoot-the washing machine just called my name. Time to dry!
Hope everyone is doing good this Sunday morning.

That's awesome Spazmelda!!!

Glad to see everyone hanging in there with the exercise!!! I was going to get a head start today and go for a walk but it's cold and windy. The cold is no big deal but with the wind combined.....no thanks!!

I will be getting all my stuff together today and going over all my weight watchers stuff. I'm excited!!!!

Any kind of moving around IS good Hz, I'm just not so good at those things that call for coordinated movement

That does sound exciting Fudgey. WTG! :)

I'm gonna have to pm you the next visit to Montgomery, which should be around May. Maybe we can get together for a bit? Depending on our schedules of course.

Just off the treadmill-life is happening a bit late for me today and I went to bed around 10:30-sheesh-at least it's Sunday.

As for coordinated-not all of me is-LMAO:laugh::ohmy::facepalm:

Hello ladies waving smiley-1.gif Thank you Fudgey for posting the link here and, thank you Toto for such a great idea. I'm very excited to join you all - I need the same kind of interaction as I received when I became a vaper. Correction - successful vaper. :)

My planned date to get moving and get fit was/is tomorrow. I believe my fairy godmother is at work again getting me here today. I've got my walking clothes ready, new shoes laced, rebounder dusted off and recumbent bike pointed toward the mancave TV. I don't know how well the walking will go, I used to walk for miles but that was before I broke my knee. We shall see, I just need to get moving. It's been very nice being newly retired and not having to keep to a schedule but, I think I'm ready to devote some morning time to the fit part.

For all us chocolate lovers, I have (in the past) used the Viactiv calcium chewables and a generic can be found at Wal-Mart in the vitamin section. They are about the size of a caramel, come in chocolate and other flavors. One piece is only 20 calories and has 500 mg calcium. These were a treat for me at night with a cup of tea. Nope, they're never gonna replace a Hershey bar but.....they can get you over the craving. :p That's my tip for the day. :)

oh, and TWR rocks! So glad I found you all!

Hey Cisme....good to see you here!!

For those of you wanting to lose weight here's a tip. Take a picture of yourself in tight clothes in whatever position you feel the most uncomfortable, print it out and put in on the dining room table or anywhere else you eat. Put it on the fridge or the cabinet where you keep the chips. I think that will help me and since it's just me and DH now I think I can do it. Since I won't have to hear the silly remarks the kids would have made about it.

Cisme, thanks for the tip about generic Viactiv at WalMart. I've been reluctantly swallowing horse pills because I'm too cheap to pay the Viactiv price. Didn't know that even existed!

Lisa, your welcome. I use to put the tea in a fancy cup with saucer along with my 2 (sometimes 3) pieces and pretend I was quite elegant. It helps if you have a Pug to sit in your lap.

Fudgey, I cannot treat myself that cruelly at this point.

Cisme- I can't imagine how much a broken knee would hurt!

I went to the gym today and played about 1.5 hours of racquetball with my husband. I think my HRM told me I burned about 600 calories, but I don't remember exactly. I wasn't too into it, but it was good to get out there and sweat. Then I had a small serving of tuna casserole and 1 oz of baked ruffles. The tuna casserole had some peas in it, but I definitely need to get some more veggies in today.

Spaz, 1.5 hours at the gym, good going! I'm hoping to start tomorrow with 15 minutes on the bike. :) And yes, would not recommend breaking a knee. If it ever happens, I recommend a very comfy chair with a leg rest cause that's where you'll find yourself all day for what seems like forever. :p

I started with 5-10 minutes on the treadmill. I used to tell myself that I only had to do 5 minutes, and then I could quit if I wanted to. That helped me get the 'activation energy' to get me up and going.
