Same here! I always took those banners as being more about how many days it's been since someone smoked. Something to not only show that person how successful they've been, but also new people who are just getting into vaping. It's kind of like the chips they give out in AA for how long you've been sober.

+10!

:D He still stinks and is confined to his study with the door closed if he wants to smoke in the house, :)

I never smoked in the house, so that means when it was winter and the temps dropped to zero or below I would be standing outside in the cold. If it was raining or snowing, then I would be in the garage with the garage door open, standing just inside the door and blowing the smoke out the door.......and then I would still get yelled at because the garage smelled like smoke.

For me it was the front porch. The first winter we lived here, I tried the garage one day when it was very cold and windy, but afterward I yelled at myself, because I could smell it in the kitchen coming thru the garage/kitchen door. If I'd opened the garage door, it wouldn't have been so bad, but it was so cold and windy I didn't wanna. :D But after that, I suffered the porch; that was my #1 primary reason for my initial interest in e-cigs, because last winter, '13-'14, was the coldest winter in 30+ yrs around here, and I'd only been an outdoor smoker for 16 yrs... I had completely had it with freezing to death outside, so I wanted a way to get my enjoyment and nic fix indoors. Never even thought about quitting smoking until I came here and read all the success stories, and saw all the banners... thanks, all y'all! :thumb:

I did Ryo

Did it with the best of them... probably better

My top-o-matics had customized kydex hoppers on them. I could slam a carton in the blink of an eye.

My banner accounts for pack price though, as I'd not have the time and place to Ryo on the road in a tractor trailer.

Initial outlay and figuring out my gear was costly.

But now I have a whole laboratory and a closet full of gear and supplies to last me decades.

I now supply myself and 4 others vape habits for less than I spent on Ryo every month.

I was making a carton for about $10. 9 cartons a month or more.

120ml of joose costs me about $6.

A coil costs about a penny and lasts for months.

The $12 I spent on wicking material is nearly a year old and should easily last me 10 more.

Pretty much all the rest of gear are all lifetime invesrments.

From my experience. Along with vaping becoming more expensive. The complexity of vaping (subohm, learning curve) has turned alot of people back to cigerettes :/. The RBA community has shown them vaping on regular clearomisers is not giving them the full satisfaction and is not truely vaping. Subohm is only big in the filipino community now here in california and seems too adolescent to people that were interested in vaping.

I'm not even sure whats meant by "subohm".

Does it mean just going below 1 ohm??

For does it mean cloud chasing??

Locally RDA's are basic dead except among broke younger males cause they can get a clone for 10 bucks.

But if it tanks like the Atlantis and ST then thats kinda what I see most people quitting smoking with. I have to say I personally find those style of tank to be too intense so while I did buy them I never actually use them anymore. But these people come in the vape shops quietly once a week to buy a coil and bottle of juice.

Like I said I don't like them but an Atlantic is prolly as close to a cigarette as possible. Short quick blast of warmth. Who ever had the smoke from a burning cigarette that was cool?? Who ever took 5-10 second drags on a cigarette??

So the shops got the young people with mechs and RDA's on one side and the older guys with box mods and RTA's on the other side and right up the middle ya got the average vaper with a iStick and an Atlantis in and out of the store. They are the yeomen of today's vape world.

What about people like me who smoked premium smokes. Where I live they run $15 a pack per day.... Vaping is much cheaper once I get past the start up costs.
That would be me...I paid through the nose for all natural, no chemical cigarettes and traveled 45 miles to boot. At first, when I quit smoking and got into vaping, I too thought it was going to be even more expensive and it was at first, but now I spend pennies on the dollar compared to smoking.......

......and I get my stuff delivered right at my doorstep!:w00t:

No kidding! I had to ask myself WTF am I doing outside in 5 below temps!...The real killer was when I fired up my kerosene heater out on the doorstep just to keep warm while smoking:facepalm: then finally in 98 degree temps in August, I asked the same question.....that was the last straw, I just quit and never looked back!

So now I never get cold or hot!:)

Ask yourself, how many packs do you smoke a day? 1? Lets assume so. At 1 pack a day, you're spending $1.25/day to smoke.
How much does it cost to make a bottle of juice? On average, I spend about $1 per 10mls, maybe 8, assuming I do not exceed a 15% flavor profile, which I seldom do. I also only vape around 2-4mls a day. Lets assume I can only make 8ml/$1. At that rate, and with my 4ml maximum vape per day, I'm spending about $.50 a day to vape.
YMMV.

Our favorite flavors, I buy 8 oz bottles of the base. 20% flavor is about $6 for 120 ml at low to moderate nic. 6% flavor is about $6 for 120 ml for my 50mg/ml premium nic joose.

I'm making out like a fat rat.

A pack of smokes for me is little over $5 and even if I bought my current setup up every month with the amount of juice I use I would still save roughly 50 dollars a month, even though I do understand that vaping can be more expensive more people like me who will binge spend on different and spend why more money then I should.

Did you used to collect expensive pipes when you used to smoke?
If I had been a pipe smoker, I'm confident I would have. I also believe that for many of us, vaping is more like smoking pipes than cigarettes.

As far as hardware is concerned, how many lighters and pipes do you need to simply smoke? One of each.
Oh come on, how many confirmed smokers only had one lighter? ;)
