let me think I always bought a carton a week at about 95.00 per week except for the few times I bought from the res in southern Ontario at about 22.00 a carton (considered illegal) yep I save money even with buying my toys and the goodies for DIY I might have bought an injector if I had a higher IQ ;) but I didn't know about injectors -smoking even cheapies would not have filled my need when I learned about vaping ( I was in a no smoking environment for almost a month) and vaping filled the bill and smoking cigs became a very expensive habit - did I quit for my health - I gotta be honest no - did I quit because it is by far cheaper for me - yep and the future added benefit I will be able to vape in the old folks bathroom without getting caught - at my age I gotta consider those issues and if they ( the powerful anti smoking crew) won't deliver health care to my home because I smoke - because I vape to get my nic they won't know so it seems to me to be a win plus it tastes a lot better and I am less of a fire risk and don't drop sparks on my nighties of course if the power goes out I might be in trouble uhmm

At 30 seconds per stick, that would have been 20 minutes of my time, every single day, and horribly tedious..... None of that involves 20 minutes of repetitive motion tedium.
I got tendonitis from RYO. Had to get a cortisone shot.
certainly anyone with an IQ above 50 would realize vaping for less than $1 per day is cheaper than wasting $1.25 per day rolling cigarettes ... you are still new to vaping and have not figured out how to vape the same economic way you figured out smoking.

Dollar-A-Day Group | E-Cigarette Forum

Are you trying to say, your common sense told you to start smoking with RYO cigarettes?

I vape for much cheaper than you ever smoked for ... and I also have 15 devices and tanks now, where every smoke you ever rolled is gone forever.
I am now averaging less than a dollar a day, and that is with stocking up for future needs. Plenty of people are satisfied with even less than what I have.

Many people here didnt read his last sentence did they? Lol

I spend more becuase i was a dipper/ occasional pipe every now and then guy. Thats mainly so i can have a plethora of flavors on hand and i like to tinker. If i was addicted to the nicotine/hand gestures maybee id be going through much more juice then i do but generally i Diy unless i want to try a new flavor type. (Usually to replicate it or improve it if i can.)
health wise not much difference then before.
If you Diy you'll save alot more vs buying from average vendors for 5$ for 10ml.

Also it takes a little spending to find your ideal setup/style so that factors into money spent as well. In the long run you spend less. But startup it will cost more usually.

I DIY and use a genny on a mech. I roll my own wicks and wind my own coils. I don't need anything from the B&M's and I vape dirt cheap. More so if you consider the expense of emphysema, COPD, and cancer treatment avoided.

Hey, Vaslovik! Long time no type! How's it going?!?

The talk about lighters reminded me of another thing I don't miss about smoking. Overfilling a Zippo, putting it in my pants pocket, then after a bit having that burning sensation on the thigh from the fluid seeping out. I'm still getting e-mails from Zippo after sending two of them in for free repair just before I started vaping. If they weren't engraved with my last name, I would sell or toss them.

Hey Andrea! It's going well, but I'm exhausted all the time, working 18-20 hour shifts, but at least I have a job I can vape at now.

Well that's a terrific thing, considering all the idiot businesses banning it! And these days, having any job has to be considered a real luxury -- having one where you can vape, AWESOME! :thumb:

Glad to see you here; there are a lot of folks that seem to have gone missing lately! :) I always love to read your anti-BS posts!!! :thumb:

Well, this is a touchy subject for sure. I smoked marlboro lights and camel blues. They cost me 11 dollars each. I smoked a half a pack a day. I spent allot on butts.

Since I started vaping I bought 4 mods and 3 Tanks and 2 RBA's and joined a E juice subscription service and do not plan on buying anymore Tanks and mods. So Until Winter Im gonna save allot of money. Because Thats when Ill want whats new, when somthing exciting comes to market.

My goal is to just not spend as much as I did on Marlboros and camels. I already saved allot of money. And saving my ... from Cancer. I think vaping is fun. There are nice mods for those who enjoy different styles of vaping. unlike smoking tobacco. The only things we could collect were lighters. Anyways I see your point and have tried rolling my own cigarettes before but I got so bored of it. And would cough a lung after a pack. I would have red face and looked sick all the time.

There is some really cheap vendors out there that sell cheap e juice that taste pretty damn good

Hahahahaha!

In the beginning it was even money because I kept buying shiny stuff and felt I was deserving of owning umpteen mods and devices. Now it is pure savings.
I rolled, stuffed blah blah not that big a savings, smoked more, hacked more and figure in what I make an hour vs. time stuffing and it is so NOT worth it.

I may not have Saved 2,000 dollars by vaping, only because I SPENT it on other stuff!

Let's see here, I have one mech I still use, it was $50 new, I used my first RSST for a year and a half, that cost me $27.50, I don't buy coils or wicks I make my own dirt cheap, and I make 100 ml of juice at a time heavily flavored for about $8, which lasts me about a week and a half, let's say 300 ml a month at $24. Kanthal and mesh are such negligible expenses I won't calculate them, as a coil and wick easily last me a month.

Pre-vaping Doug and I were spending over $500 a month on cigs. That was what our rent cost. Then there were the doctor bills... No, I think we are spending a lot less on vaping, thankyouverymuch.

op: not the way to make friends and influence people.

Vaping can be way cheaper, from what i've researched even beating rollies. But even without the DIY, most folks buy big brand cigs and it is not hard at all to save money over them. Drum is pretty nice, but i did like the taste of my camels. Until vaping anyways lol. if you are just going to call people idiots for possibly enjoying the flavor of malboro more, well that is a bit self righteous and silly. If someone likes the convenience of camels etc and the taste, did it occur to you that it is worth it to them?

For me, i am good now through next may in premixed juice. I have 5 mods (2 sigelei minis which are fine but i don't expect years out of, a hex ohm and 2 provari minis i expect to last a long while), 2 kayfuns and a few subtanks with a year worth of coils. My den will have a fridge freezer next week so i will be getting some base nic. I did all this since i love vaping so far and want to have a large measure of control over how fast i cut down nic and when i eventually stop/make it a special every now and again thing, like my 30 yr scotch :)

Even with my stock piling, some trial and error, from april through next may i save 688 bucks over the price of 3 camel filter cartons a month. Frankly - given the situation looming after the summer, i may get some more fancy juice to just enjoy the heck out of whats available now before the situation dramatically changes.

To each his own. Be happy, enjoy your life, take some liberties while you can.

This guy understands my pain haha. Id rather be addicted to buying old tube amps than tobacco. There is nothing like the feeling you get standing in front of a 100w full stack roaring away. Smoking could never do that for me!

Here's mine:

$5.00 pack of cigarette, x2 a day = $10.00 per day.
Roughly 30 days per month = $300 per month
or
$35 for 236mL bottle of juice from Mount Baker Vapor PER MONTH!

Yes, I have spent about $400 buying a Sigelei150watt, Batteries, and a few RDA's and a Kanger Subtank, BUT THAT's $400!!!!!! ONLY SPENT IT ONCE!!!!!!! 2 months of smoking cigarettes cost me $600........

HELL YES IM SAVING MONEY! A TON OF IT.
