little world rant vaping related

They just banned selling online here in Quebec about a month ago, a bunch of vape shops literally went out of business in days. The ones still open have these stupid opache glass that you can't see inside now. Quebec is like jumping up and down like they are some sort of hero's. Seems to me, to be these corrupt politicians are in bed with the tobacco companies? Only people I can see that benefit from these stupid new laws. It sure has hell won't benefit the health care system, or the 1000's of people actually quitting smoking finally.

They literally did zero research. The only two things that make sense is they are in bed with big tobacco or are really stupid. I know when I was smoking only 5 months ago. I couldn't walk 1KM without runing out of breath. Now I can walk 10 like it is no problem! Not even come close to having any breathing issues, improved eating habits, better taste buds, tons more energy. the list is extensive. So my question is how can these people be that mis-informed? unless they're not.....

Last time I checked... aging is hazardous to our health also it kills all of us. Taking a step outside we risk getting eaten by a vulture, breathing polluted air. or run over by a drunken school bus driver.. or... I mean seriously if we wanted to sit in front of a cubical and live a boring life we probably would just take out a gun and pull the trigger.

Honestly I started smoking at 12, and the anti smoking laws were in full force at this time. I can tell you. I had almost no problems buying cigarettes at that age. I just had to be smart. So the idea this is some sort of youth protection law. Is also a bunch of bull.....

What is your thought? :)

I'm not sure how it is in Canada, but here in America Big Tobacco is not the main enemy.
They fall a distant third after Big Government (taxes) and Big Pharma.

In fact, they might even fall below Tobacco Control and "non-profit" health charities.
But yeah, it's not like Big Tobacco is exactly on our side either.

Biggest benefactors of all this anti vaping nonsense are big pharmaceutical still get to make billions off their useless nrt treatments and when people get cancer more billions for those drugs. I know a lot of people point the finger at big tobacco but they really are not our biggest enemy certainly less of an enemy then big pharma and in the US states themselves want vaping gone as less smokers means less money out of that settlement with big tobacco. In Europe they are just starting to realise the extent of big pharma's influence hell the British medical association is in the middle of a corruption investigation because of bribes from pharmaceutical companys it really is just the tip of the iceberg.

Very good point. You actually make me look at it a different way. It probably benefits phama way more too. While a lot of drugs here are either free or WAY cheaper than the USA. The drug companies are making big bucks off it eitherway. Doesn't really matter if it's the average joe paying or the government. Someone is paying for it one way or the other.

Never ever from Day one has it been about anything except the money.

Put BT at #3 or even #5, when you are talking Billions, They All count. Not one of them want Vaping to exist as it directly effects the bottom line negatively.

By the way, BP, BT, Government, Charitable Organizations, etc. are ALL, People that think they have the right do Dictate what everyone else deserves in life.

The only thing anyone allowed into the fake "political" system cares about is benefitting themselves. They do that by selling out the people they pretend to represent (and you really do have to be a child if you believe any politician cares about you) and representing the interests of the people who own them, put them into their fake position and will immediately remove them if they stop doing their job. Their real job, being a puppet, not their fake job.

These money grubbing leaches who own the sell out politicians profit from people buying smokes. They also profit from selling the toxic overpriced quack "treatments" to the disease they cause. Vaping hurts those profits. Profit is the only thing they care about.

My State of Indiana will be following you down that rabbit hole in July.

Just out of curiosity, how far would you have to drive to get outside of Quebec's jurisdiction?

I am in Quebec, from my house 45 min west and I am in Ontario, about the same drive south and I am in Vermont.

You can buy all the nic you want here, just can't buy it online, but you can buy online from another provence and get it shipped here no problem, and now since bill 44 you can't vape in a vape shop to taste a new flavour of juice you may want to try :(

So is it actually legal to order online from outside Quebec, or is it just something you can get away with? Like having a friend send it to you.

Has this change made a difference to the price of juice in the remaining vape shops in Quebec? Or the choice of brands of juice available?

I'm interested because nobody knows what the effect will be when the law comes into effect in Indiana.

Started to say, like going to a bar, but not allowed to order a shot......

But more like going to the Liqueur store and purchasing something new.........apprehensively. No returns on Open containers.

I wonder how long it will take before Shops offer Penny(dime) Tasters?

Study's have shown large # risk "reductions" associated with e cigs compared to smoking ................
How would this "not" be detrimental to any health care system ?

Depends on what you mean by "health care system".

If you are a customer of health care getting rid of vaping would definitely be detrimental. Or if you are country which contains a health care system. Or live in that country. Even if you don't smoke, since costs are spread around.

But if you are the CEO of a profit based health care system getting rid of vaping would be a major positive. Without vaping your customers will be less healthy and need more of your products. Luckily you have politicians to take care of that problem for you.

Exactly Mick, "ALL" of those CEO's have a very large disposable income set forth just for occasions like this, 1.2 mil $ / stock options, is a drop in the briefcase for them ........
