Forgive me..please... but this song/person/video has been running thru my brain for days!!! I actually was blessed to be at one of his concerts where he did this as an ending to the concert.. back in "the good ole days"

I am all for the sentiment that things should get easier for seniors. Unfortunately, that isn't true for some of us. Just the opposite in fact.

Every year I go to the polls and vote NO to all those property tax increases they want to foist upon me. The people around me vote YES and up, up, up go the taxes. Maybe there should be a rule, you can't vote on upping the property taxes unless you are a property owner. I bet if that were the case they wouldn't go up! I'm betting most of the people voting for more government have never even considered the impact on their taxes/rent/sales tax etc. after the bill passes.

I don't know how it is in Cali, however, here in Fly Over Country, there is a State wide rule that anything 5% or over increase from any Property Taxing Entity (of which there are many), requires a Public Vote ..

So, of course, the Taxing Entities request a 4.9% increase, thus quashing the Vote .. then, they proceed to spend every nickel and whine for more the next year ..

The silly bowl of peaches will have to wait another day to be finished,but these two are done. Who would think that it would take so long to paint such little paintings? They're only 8" x 8"...

My camera decided to die, and I don't have the fanciest phone, so these aren't the best possible pics....or paintings...

Same thing with writing. I have been reading The Jesuit Relations: Index . Similar to reading Encyclopedia Britannica from A to Z. But it has to be done. Glad you are getting back to your artwork. You are immensely talented.

I like them both .. the first one has an Impressionism look to it, and the water is very nice and soothing ..

I am drawn to the Coffee Cup for several reasons .. first, it is a reflection on Sandra's Coffee Love .. second, it's very well done Pop Art .. and the shading and highlights are great .. EDIT :: And, quite 3-D ..

Bravo .. (and, it's about time .. ) ..

I think I overestimated my energy for the day. I went shopping, put away the groceries, cut up a watermelon and have the portions in the fridge. Now I am filtering iced coffee for my daughter then all I have left is to cut up and marinate some meat for jerky.

Crushed or powdered red pepper. We swear by it. Mix it in with the feed and the squirrels will find something else to eat.

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone has a good day today!

I got sick and bed bound again. They don't know why it happens or how to stop it. I just go along with it all knowing it never lasts forever.
Personally I think this bout was brought on by grief. 7/27 was the day I gave birth to my stillborn son Jude. We buried him on the 30th. He would have been 20 this year. I still miss him Those of you with kids and grandchildren make sure to cherish them and know how lucky you are.

I'm so sorry you're feeling poorly. Tomorrow is another day and hopefully you'll be feeling better. I think sometimes our body just says that's it, time to take the day off and rest whether you like it or not.

Wow Yiddle, I love both of them. Nice job! Are you painting from what's in your head or do you have a picture or props? I totally agree with Willie's comments about both.

Hmmm, might have to look into Blown Away. Never heard of it. I look forward to a show called Forged in Fire every Wednesday. There's no way I'd have the strength to make some of the knives and swords they do, but it fascinates me that such things can be made out of scraps of metal.

Wow! Lots of activity here today.
@Uncle Willie my hubs worked for Lowes until yesterday….when he and three other workers from his store were laid off because two jobs (two employees at each, two full time and two part time) were outsourced immediately. This happened at all 2000+ Lowes across the country. The company was one of the top companies that was the beneficiary of the Trump tax break to the tune of $700 million. That cut was supposed to allow the company to raise their employees' salaries. Instead Lowes chose to cut out those jobs because it costs them less to outsource them.

Gary is a great worker and well liked at his store so he will be hired back at another department as soon as a position becomes available, which should be within weeks. We don't depend on his part-time, 20 hours a week pay for our bills…it's for extras…but we feel so bad for two of the employees at his store…and all the other stores…who worked full time and have families to support.

They all got a severance pay equivalent to 2 weeks of work but these full timers had no idea they would be unemployed ahead of time so they could start looking. They came to work yesterday and were told they have no jobs.

@yiddleboge6 I love the first painting. It's so soothing! You are so talented!

@Anise my heart goes out to you. There are several of us on this thread who lost children. Mine died when he was 27, 18 years ago. It never gets easier.

Hubs I just lost in Jan was eligible for SS but didn’t get much. Spent too many of his younger years working under the table and older years self employed. So I end up getting $511 after they take out for plan B.

Bea, that sucks about hubby and the others losing jobs. What is wrong with the thinking of giving a huge tax break to a large company who can afford taxes better than most.
