@yiddleboge6, fantastic paintings! I agree with others that coffee cup is very realistic.

@Bea-FL, that's awful about the lost jobs. Been there, done that and it just sucks. I know you don't rely on that income for basics, but I hope they re-employ him soon. Extra income is always handy, plus I believe he enjoys it.

Thank you all for the kind compliments and encouragement...

Wow Yiddle, I love both of them. Nice job! Are you painting from what's in your head or do you have a picture or props? I totally agree with Willie's comments about both.

Janet, I'm working from photo references. My imagination won't really come into play as to composition, etc. until I've learned more and developed the skills to translate what I can see in my mind onto a canvas. I'm impatient to get to that point so that I can paint things that really speak to me and how I feel about a subject.

Thinking of a dear friend who passed last Aug. 5th from lung cancer even though she quit smoking almost 10 years prior. She was the best gardener I have ever known. Here is one of her garden pics.

Hmmm, might have to look into Blown Away. Never heard of it. I look forward to a show called Forged in Fire every Wednesday. There's no way I'd have the strength to make some of the knives and swords they do, but it fascinates me that such things can be made out of scraps of metal.

    Hola .. :)

"Blown Away" deals with glass fabrications .. it was fascinating for me to watch the process as well as what these Artisans came up with ..

I sporadically watch "Forged in Fire" .. and it's also fascinating ..

I think I overestimated my energy for the day. I went shopping, put away the groceries, cut up a watermelon and have the portions in the fridge. Now I am filtering iced coffee for my daughter then all I have left is to cut up and marinate some meat for jerky.

I bought a watermelon (seedless) on a whim the other day at the Kroger .. went thru the bin pretty completely and used all the old school tips .. it sliced up nice and red with a thin rind, yet was not very sweet at all .. I'm going to stick with the Farmers Market from here on, where the Amish slice one up on the spot and offer taste tests ..

Your post reminds me of the LDCT (Low DoseCat Scan) that Gary and I had a year ago per our doctor. I may have already posted about this but in case I didn't …It's a newer procedure that most insurance companies will pay for that is designed to detect lung cancer in ex smokers early and can be repeated annually. I can't remember after how many years one quits it's available but I was just past 5 years and was eligible.

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning here. We had a fun birthday party yesterday for Hux. The boys had such a good time in the pool and I'm happy to see them not be so fearful of the water. Today we try to get cleaned up and once everyone leaves for home we've got naps scheduled!
