I won't take the time, like I generally do, for any commentary on the Sad and Horrendous events that unfolded .. why write anything new when things are just a repeat .. ?? a copy and paste from a while back ::

"No one may remember, however, I promised to return my NRA card and cancel my membership after Las Vegas if no rational action was taken .. it was returned, in pieces, ATTN : Wayne LaPierre .. with a nice letter ..

I still Wholeheartedly Support the 2nd Amendment .. I am simply sick and tired of the continuous and regular pain and suffering inflicted on the National Populace and a Do Nothing Legislative Agenda ..

While I, of all people, fully and completely understand that it's nigh impossible to fully protect our Citizenry from this National Disgrace, which has become a regular piece of our National Fabric, rational and common sense thinking needs to prevail at some point .. "

I will add this :: Texas has the highest percentage of folks that carry .. no one can tell me that people in that Walmart were not armed .. which, once again, proves the point that carry laws do not make us safer in a Public Venue ..

Is at least solid Background Checking and the closing of the Gun Show loophole just too much to ask .. ??

This Just In From the "Why, Oh, Why .. ??" Department ::

Doritos used to be just plain old Doritos .. then, along came Cheese Doritos, then Taco Doritos, then Nacho Cheese Doritos, Ranch Doritos, etc .. (not necessarily in perfect order, if you've been keeping track .. )

The same thing with Cheetos .. regular puffs of Unknown Cheese Origin and the Crunchy type (I prefer crunchy) .. now, they have these Flamin' Hot Cheetos .. have you ever tried these things .. ?? You need an ice cold 6-pack to cool your mouth down ..

Enter :: "Moonberry Twinkies" .. billed as featuring “a dark blue, night sky colored sponge cake with a fruity mystery ‘moonberry’ flavored creamy filling.”

I don't know about you, but I just prefer my Snacks on the Classic side .. stop screwing around with the Snacks, please .. yes, I know I don't have to eat them, and I won't ..

Willie ... I too am appalled and sickened by yet another senseless shooting. But your statement " .. proves the point that carry laws do not make us safer in a Public Venue .." just isn't true. Google "armed citizen prevents shooting" and you'll see how often it does happen, just not reported widely in the news.

Please, I am not trying to justify our current gun laws and/or lack of them just pointing out that good guys with guns do stop bad guys with guns. Here's even one case where the 'good' guy was a pastor.

But even the fact that legally armed citizens defend and protect themselves and others with guns is a sad statement to the moral decay that surrounds us in today's world.

Mikey .. I'm all for Frugality, but, I'll pass on the Fast Food napkins for TP, thank you .. personally, I prefer a fluffy ball of TP and I'm not going to sit on the Throne and manipulate FF Napkins in order to reach my desired configuration ..

I will say that the Commercials that are on TV these days, touting "My TP is Better" are pretty much hogwash ..

Did you notice something kind of sly about the $1.25 rolls. When the did that, they also made the rolls much thicker. I guess they were hoping no one would notice that they also made them much narrower. I'd bet that while there are more sheets, they have the same or less square feet per roll.

I fully agree, and at least partly because of my own 'herd immunity' theory. I haven't had a gun outside the house in over a decade, but if some thug thinks to assault me, he might stop to consider how many people in New Mexico actually do carry either on their person or in the car.

I know .. I think I was coming at it from the standpoint of the sheer number of rounds they got off in such a short time .. you know as well as I do, also, that the Good Guy (male or female) has to be willing and able to very quickly react .. just carrying is not a cure .. training, ability, mindset, bravery all come into play .. given the opportunity and a clear sight line, I would not hesitate ..

It's 106 outside and we just got home to the A/C off... apparently it blew a breaker trying to keep up with the heat out there. I'm parked in front of a fan until it can get it cool in here

.. just carrying is not a cure .. training, ability, mindset, bravery all come into play .. given the opportunity and a clear sight line, I would not hesitate ..

I've grappled with 'that' too, since I carry. I've come to this mindset ... prime directive, make sure Janet is safe, out of the danger zone, whatever. Then if I had a chance to save that mother protecting her children, since I've lived almost 73 years, I'd risk my safety so she can see her children grow up. I surely hope I'm never in that situation, but if I was I hope to have the courage to carry out what I've thought through.
