Ask McConnell to let it get to the Senate floor...
ASK??? Demand, with a threat of impeachment for blocking the democratic process. Oh!! Heaven forbid, I used the trigger word-- democratic. I am so sorry, Mr McConnell for triggering your stress hormones. I swear, I am not a socialist pinko commie.
How much do you get a year form the NRA, anyway?

IMHO - "Sensible Gun Legislation" is must ! ! !

Or at least at a minimum, enforce and/or bring back - either or all - "Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act", "The Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act", or even more importantly, "Federal Assault Weapons Ban" . . .

AND - Last but not least, repeal the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act" to hold both Manufactures and Licensed Dealers responsible/"held liable for negligence" for those firearms/products used in "Mass Shootings" . . .

BTW: Don't forget . . . Let "YOUR" Voice be heard Write, Call, Email, "Tweet" your Local, State and Federal Legislators . . . Let them know how Ya' feel about these and all "Mass Shooting" . . .

Just Sayin' . . . :2c:

'Morning everyone...

I'm back to struggling to paint that bag of lemons in my attempt to take my mind off the terrible state that our country is in... I dare not comment further lest I embark on a major political diatribe...

Good morning Yiddle, Bea and Rose. Only going to 83 here today, but possible T-storms this afternoon. That's a good thing because we could use some rain.

I REALLY need to get out in the garden and do some weeding. It's getting hard to tell the difference between the good plants and the weeds.

I discovered something interesting about my Balloon Flower plants. This Spring the ones that got half eaten by some critter turned into lovely little bushes. The ones that didn't get chomped turned out pretty leggy. Once they start blooming I hate to cut them back so maybe next year I'll start off cutting them back while they're still young. Gotta discipline those whipper snappers while they're young! Hmmm, is that where nip them in the bud comes from?

I chose to not water my garden last night. We had a thunderstorm, anyway. :)

Seems most of the time there is a call for rain and I don't water the rain doesn't happen. It's like those black clouds are laughing at me as they pass right over my parched garden!

Hola .. :)

We've not had a solid rain in a bit of a while .. it's amazing to me how quickly the ground dries up, especially after all the rain we had earlier in the year .. my yard has visibly slowed in growth and is looking dry .. the only stuff I have to water are the Deck Plants and a couple hanging baskets .. the yard can turn brown totally since I'm not paying more pints of blood to the Water Department ..

Remember the days when you'd go outside and it seemed like every one had one of those fan rain type sprinklers or the ones that would kind of pop the water stream to spread it around (they made a distinctive noise) .. ?? I don't know about you, but I just don't see that anymore ..

The only things I water are the deck plants, also. I always hope for dry weather so the grass will stop growing and I don't have to mow. Not likely here, thunderstorms almost daily. Guess cause I am close to Florida.

During the brief, yet Glorious History of our Country, when the mighty Rivers were the main avenue of Commerce, before the Railroads .. the Riverboat Captains were the Rockstar's of the Day .. and, they built Homes that reflected that status ..

I fully agree, and at least partly because of my own 'herd immunity' theory. I haven't had a gun outside the house in over a decade, but if some thug thinks to assault me, he might stop to consider how many people in New Mexico actually do carry either on their person or in the car.
I am a firm believer in training. If you are going to use it for protection, practice, don't just go out "poking holes" in the paper.
We don't have a gun problem, we have a mental illness problem. Could you imagine if before a person was allowed to write an opinion on social media they had to prove that they had a degree and not have a differing opinion from the majority? I will shut up now before I get booted.

Willie we have one of those oscillating sprinklers here. I just have to position it in three places and everything gets watered!

Well, Bea, I would not mind going back to the days of yard watering .. however, my Water Bill from the Utility Cartel runs an average of $80 clams a month as it is .. (that includes Trash Pickup and Sewage, but still ..) and, as a side note, they have a nice scam going so that all water that gets used, also is assumed to be going into Sewage .. and beefs the Sewage tab up proportionately ..

Unless you're Bill Gates, you don't want to fill a Swimming Pool up 'round these parts ..

Our circular sprinkler bit the dust and we now have the oscillating one. I used it in the garden 2 days ago. One year Mike decided to treat our front yard to get rid of the weeds. After a few days we went out to rake out the dead stuff and literally had nothing left but dirt. So then he had to get seed and feed and we used the circular sprinkler. The next year the yard looked great, but it didn't take long for the weeds to find us again.

Janet I adore balloon flowers. When we lived up north I had all three colors. Punk, purple and white!

Willie we have one of those oscillating sprinklers here. I just have to position it in three places and everything gets watered!

I've only seen the blue/purple ones here. I'll get some of the other colors if I see them. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is deadheading them every day. Too many flower beds so I can't keep up!

Our property is the detention basin for the development we live in so nothing can be built there, but Mike does mow it. The house is located near the front of the property so the rest of the 3.25 acres are in the back. If the grass out there turns brown that's just tough. A lawn company stops by every once in awhile wanting to make our lawn beautiful. Sorry, I can't afford to get rid of all those weeds!

Jerry, please don't take this as anything but constructive discussion, which I think we can all have here .. there actually was a Law designed to combat/track Mental Illness suspicions as it relates to firearms .. I believe it was rolled back in 2017 .. with help from the NRA ..

Sadly, in the USA, it is easier to get a gun than it is to get mental health treatment ..

Keep in mind, I lean Libertarian and Independent, and, I carry ..

EDIT :: I'm also the Guy, as some may recall, that firmly believes an Apocalypse of some sort is coming .. which, I guess, also makes me a Doomsday Prepper ..
