I get tired of folks that believe Un-Documented Workers are draining the System .. (and, could we Drain the Swamp, please .. ??) ..

Good morning folks!

The last couple of days have been glorious in temp. terms....no higher than 78 degrees! I actually had some windows open!

But...last night it got so cold i had to turn on the heat

...I don't know why I'm anxious about this upcoming surgery...I've had a few of them over the years and many broken bones..collar, wrist, arm ,right hip, left hip surgery ...

maybe I'm becoming a big baby in my advanced age...

...but I AM looking forward to being "waited on", someone doing the house cleaning...hopefully being a little pampered...

@Uncle Willie since you've been vaping for several years and that cough is a recent thing why does your doctor think the cough is vape-related?

Have you started taking any new medication in the last 6 months?

I suddenly developed a fairly constant dry cough not too long ago. Before I had a chance to ask the doctor about it, I happened to hear (right here on ECF, I think on one of the Old Folks threads) about a certain medication that caused other people to start coughing. I can't remember what it was. A statin, maybe. Can't remember.

Anyway, I stopped taking it, and my cough disappeared. Just like that. When I did finally see the doctor, I told him about it. He said that's a common side effect and gave me something else instead. Cough never came back.

Just an idea.

Been taking a statin for many years, Zocor .. only new med in the last 6 months is Cymbalta ..

Whether I can stay Nicotine Free for any real period of time, we'll see ..

This scenario does not change anything as far as my Thread Participation at all .. it's just another Speed Bump I have to deal with ..

Well let's be honest here, Ya' could, however - IMHO - Ya' wouldn't like the results . . .

- Nor would many other people here appreciate if Ya' did either . .

Both have side effects, that include "Breathing" problems . . . You could and should check out all your medications and any inteactions with each other, including side effects here at WebMD: Drugs & Medications

Yeah, I've seen the same DR for, I think, around 15 years .. I think he does a great job and I trust his advice .. Although WebMD is a great source of info, as is the Mayo Clinic site, personally, and I know it's probably just me, I believe these sites are kind of like being your own Attorney .. .. combined with my normal lifelong Paranoia causes me to sink into a quagmire of "What If's" when doing a deep dive into Internet Medical Info ..

That's not to say that others may find these sites very helpful ..
