And, of course, accepting that others may make choices we'd not make doesn't mean we have to agree, just allow (as long as non-violent!)
Just an observation ... my :2c:
A lot of kids are bullies, we've all met them mainly in our school days.
A certain percent of those end up adult bullies.
They never change or outgrow their attitudes or ego's.
They are automatically drawn to jobs where they can put on a uniform, as proof they are "above" or have superiority over others.
You can find them in the military, as public counselors to others, and the police dept is a big draw for them.
Any position of authority.
They may be in the minority, but you don't want to run into one.
The president thinks it's a good idea to open up their (police) complaint records, to help spot the problem cops.
That might not be a bad idea.

Absolutely! I'm thinking you could use any amount of chicken you want. The thicker the chicken though the longer it will take to bake. (I usually pound the chicken breast to thin and tenderize it.) And it's just as delicious heated up the next day.

Bacon, Cream Cheese, Cheddar Chicken - Julia's Album
I had the leftovers for lunch today!
'Afternoon everyone...:)

Yep...slept in late once again...:D

Janet...the link doesn't work for me...:( Just taking a guess... Pound out the chicken, roll a chunk of cream cheese up in it, top with bacon bits and shredded cheddar and bake?
I just lay thin slices of cream cheese on top of the thin sliced/pounded thin seasoned chicken breasts, top with bacon bits and cheddar cheese. Bake and enjoy!

@yiddleboge6 Sorry that link didn't open for you. You could google Bacon, cream cheese, cheddar chicken or even Julia's Album. The site has step by step pictures of what it should look like. One thing I added though was, if when the chicken is cooked through and the top isn't golden yet, either pop it under the broiler for a quick blast or just sprinkle on a little paprika to give it some color rather than overcooking the chicken.

1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 chicken breasts (use 4 thin chicken breasts, or use 2 large chicken breasts, sliced in half, horizontally)
  • salt and pepper
  • 6 oz cream cheese , cold, refrigerated, and sliced into 8 slices
  • 8 strips bacon , cooked, chopped
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese , shredded
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.
  2. Grease the bottom of the casserole dish with olive oil. I used the the oval casserole dish measured 13 inches x 9 inches x 4 inches deep.
  3. Add chicken breasts to the casserole dish. Note about chicken: use 4 thin chicken breasts, or use 2 large thick chicken breasts, sliced in half horizontally each to make 4 thin chicken breasts.
  4. Sprinkle chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  5. Top with cream cheese. Cream cheese should be cold, right out of the fridge, sliced into 8 thin slices.
  6. Top with chopped cooked bacon (drained from fat).
  7. Top with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake, uncovered, for about 20-30 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through. The cooking time will depend on the thickness of your chicken breasts.

You're right about the bullies seeking out those professions, but I believe it's a minority of the vast number of cops who end up in them. The problem is the union agreements make it very hard to get rid of a bad cop even if the chief feels he has grounds to fire them. Same thing with teachers and other professions as well. When the whole Floyd murder happened I was astonished to hear the cop had so many issues on his record already-that can't end well. How come a cop like that was still on the force?

I'm not sure what the president means by opening up the police complaint records. Open to whom? I'd imagine even the best cops would have tons of complaints lodged against them. People don't like to be arrested. Not every inmate is innocent and not every cop is guilty. But you can't NOT have cops so the real question is why do we need them in the first place?

Morning, all, and happy Sunday. Although we'll likely not see it, it's said to be up there, somewhere.

Good Morning friends!

I wake up everyday planning to be productive and then a voice in my head says “haha good one!” and we laugh and laugh and take a nap...but I'm not such a sloth that i go back to bed....I recline in the recliner...

Greetings, I started lurking around ECF in 2010 and finally joined in Nov.2011 which is also when I had my last cigarette. I have been vaping with various gadgets every since. The first few years in here were very entertaining and learned much about vaping I also made lots of friends. Seems most are gone now or maybe they changed their handle. Anyway, I went on sabbatical for a few years for no good reason and the other night ( I am a night owl) I had an epiphany and decided to see who and what was was going on here on ECF these days. I find it different but still a nifty place. Yes I am an oldster. I guess I will be lurking around again getting a new feel for the place. Happy Trails.............

Good morning!

We had a relatively good weekend doing just about nothing but lazing around. Too late for my walk this morning as I missed my walking buddies who started out at 7. It is cool outside and would have been ideal, but maybe tonight with my man.

Good morning Gracie, David, Diver and Ed! Welcome back Ed! Sounds like you gave up the cigs about the same time we did. I no longer get that excited feeling on my anniversary, but nearly every day the thought goes through my head that I'm so glad we don't smoke anymore!

The guys showed up at 7:00 this morning to finish the foyer. We still have to wait for the door, but the rest of the work will be done. We'll be glad to have the railing up finally. Lots of banging and such going on in there, but this part will be done today. That's a good thing because we're not very good at getting started early in the mornings even though we're probably awake.

Hola .. :)

Welcome to Ed, feel free to stick around ..

Yesterday, I spent a good amount of time in the yard, although the dry spell we've been in has slowed grass growth down ..

It was a particularly mild day, so, I decided to hit my favorite Mexican eatery for dinner around 4:30 .. I'd driven by a few times around 6:00 and their "limited outdoor seating" was packed, and the inside still can't open .. so, 4:30 seemed a good time, and it was .. I got a small table quickly ..

I'm generally a fan of al fresco dining, but in this case, Mexican food just did not seem to lend itself to the experience .. I ordered a combo plate, which has a little of about everything and it seemed to cool down pretty quick, so I really had to wolf it since Mex is not exactly delicious cold .. it did not help that the wait staff still seemed to be confused on who ordered what and were actually asking people when they brought out the food if they had ordered it ..

We've got a pretty long list of local eateries that have already formally announced they are closed for good .. some I really liked and that always did a great job .. also, a good list of Retailers that have decided to shut down for good and are already clearing out the stock ..

It's sad to me, that the landscape will change once things settle down to whatever 'normalcy' ends up unfolding .. not to mention the financial hit that local municipalities will be facing in the future ..

Businesses, especially Small Businesses, depend on cash flow .. like I always say 'if the cash don't flow, the bills don't go ..'

Speaking of cash, I handed my very attractive (even with mask) Waitress two crisp twenties for a $23.00 food tab .. she paused and looked at it like "What's that stuff .. ?" ..

Good. Hope you enjoy the dish as much as we do. Sure is easy enough. Once you make it the first time you won't need the recipe again. And the nice thing is you can make as much as you want. Probably could even substitute something other than the bacon like chopped ham or some procuitto (sp). I've put it together ahead of time and just popped it in the oven for company. Add some bread and veggies and you've got a whole meal that's super delicious.

She was probably shocked that you weren't giving her a $4.60 tip. Either that or she didn't know how to make change. Because cash is so dirty a lot of people aren't using cash at all these days, but I still can't get used to people using credit to buy a donut.
