Good morning :)

Got up late this morning at 7:30! Guess that bit of gardening cleanup yesterday had its effect.

A delightfully cool morning here at 70o. In the process of getting the garden tidied up. A lot of these flowers enjoy the cooler weather, so wil will leave those for the time being. Taking the seed pods and drying them out for next year!

Morning, loungers.

Rain's back, almost another half inch overnight. Cats are not happy, it's not only raining out the front door, but the back door too.

Hola .. :)

Well, I got up at 5 AM to check Amazon Prime Day .. it's been a bust so far .. the TV I want has not yet been discounted, maybe there is a slim chance it will be at some point, I don't know .. :( .. there are some deals, but I'm not willing to settle for anything less ..

The good news is, if you want to give Showtime and Starz a shot, Amazon has added them to the .99 cents a month for 2 months deal, that's a great value ::

Good afternoon, all. I must have been tired last night. I went to bed at about 1am and I slept until my dog woke me up at 11:45. I haven't slept that long in a very long time.

We have a new addition to our family. Name to be determined, her mother was siamese and her father was a sneaky neighbor.

Yeah. Her momma was a nice kitty and her daddy came from a good neighborhood.

I scanned through 16 pages of deals and wasn't tempted. The I check some pricey items that we'd like to get for the grandkids and none of them were discounted. I gave up.

I'm not a cat person in any way (allergic to them), however I can appreciate a beautiful cat when I see one . . . As for a name - if I can be so bold to suggest - "Pearl" - seems appropriate given the cats coloring and gender . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Good morning. It's 45 here and the raccoon was back last night despite the cayenne I put on the feeder. We may have to just get in the habit of bringing the feeder in at night. He doesn't come around every night, but maybe if the feeder is missing for awhile he'll give up and find somewhere else to dine.

Wow, that was a good sleep! I wish I could sleep that long, but if I slept that long Mike would think I must be sick.

It isn't original but I have settled on Ting. Thanks for the comments. Now if she would come out from under the couch.

Love the name! She's adorable. I actually think David's suggestion of Pearl was a good one, but Ting is better. Our kittens hid under the couch for 2 nights before finding their way up to our bed. They just need to take their time to get comfortable before taking over.

On Sunday morning we got a frantic call from our daughter that she found her beloved dog Izzy laying in her own vomit in the back yard. Izzy had a hard time getting up and then could barely walk because she was so wobbly. Mike and I quickly got dressed and drove the hour to meet her at the emergency vet. Izzy is 14 years old so she's not a young pup anymore. She continued to improve as the day wore on. The vet couldn't tell what was wrong, but suspects something to do with her brain rather than her heart or other things. I stayed the night so I'd be there with the boys in case Izzy had any other problems. It was quite a tense 2 days. Izzy is a very, very special dog to all of us. Hubby got home Monday night so I came home. So far Izzy is doing ok, they're just keeping an eye on her for now.

We had the wood paneling removed from our foyer. There was a lot of spackeling (how do you spell that word!) done before it was all painted. 2 weeks later Mike put some painters tape on the wall to put marks on after measuring to hang a picture. When he gently pulled the tape off chunks of paint came with it!! I've never had that happen in the rest of the house. The painter came back and sanded the spot and put 2 coats of sealer on the wall before repainting. I've used Sherwin Williams paint all over the house and never had that happen. Anyway, it's all fixed now, but he warned us that it's not unusual to have that happen with painters tape. Never heard that before. I thought painters tape was the safe thing to use.

When the painter finished I headed to Wegman's to do some grocery shopping and then came home and made a pot of chili for dinner. As soon as the weather starts to turn colder I want to eat chili and soups and make bread. Comfort food for the cold weather.

Ah, 'twas Uncle's suggestion, I just had the snarky come-back ;)

Yes, it can take a bit for a new kitten to start to feel safe.Although most, even as young as 6 weeks, will take to the litter box after usually being put there just once.

Hope Izzy makes a fast and full recovery!

Well, she is being a bit persnickety at the moment. She is under the tall dresser in my bedroom. The problem with that is that she has had a vet appointment at 10:15. I called the vet and the receptionist got a chuckle out of it. I told her I would call and reschedule when she is better acclimated to people. Oh well, she will come out when she is ready.
Other than the new kitten nothing is really going on. I'm still waiting on Innokin to get in touch with me about where I want them to send the mods. I guess with Columbus/Indigenous People's Day, they are having a problem getting caught up with everything. I hope everyone has a good day.

FYI: If you're waiting to be contacted about "your" win of the ARES 2 / ARES 2 LE, it usually takes up to 2 weeks to be contacted (not with standing any of their Holidays - the last one was just this past Oct 1st - 8th). They will send you an email about filling out a winners form via Google - which includes sending them your personal info, uploading an image of ID (usually your Drivers License will do - just cross out the DL number) and uploading a copy of your $3 Paypal receipt (Payment because of New Gov reg's). If you have a problem - just respond to the email they sent, "Monica" from Innokin CS will definitely help Ya' . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)
