Good afternoon, all. I must have been tired last night. I went to bed at about 1am and I slept until my dog woke me up at 11:45. I haven't slept that long in a very long time.

We have a new addition to our family. Name to be determined, her mother was siamese and her father was a sneaky neighbor.

FYI: If you're waiting to be contacted about "your" win of the ARES 2 / ARES 2 LE, it usually takes up to 2 weeks to be contacted (not with standing any of their Holidays - the last one was just this past Oct 1st - 8th). They will send you an email about filling out a winners form via Google - which includes sending them your personal info, uploading an image of ID (usually your Drivers License will do - just cross out the DL number) and uploading a copy of your $3 Paypal receipt (Payment because of New Gov reg's). If you have a problem - just respond to the email they sent, "Monica" from innokin CS will definitely help Ya' . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;).
Thanks for the information, I was hoping that was the problem and I hadn't missed the email in my overflowing spam folder. I'm just not too sure about PayPal.

Good morning. It's a beautiful sunny morning here and 51 degrees. This is the pretty day before the rain comes tomorrow.

Mike set up a barrier yesterday so the raccoon couldn't get to the bird feeder. Didn't work. That .... knows where the seed is and he's just going to keep coming back so I'm just going to bring the feeder in at night. It's just hanging on a metal rod with a hook at the end so it should just be a matter of me remembering to do it. Yes, I know, good luck with that.

Good morning Janet and whoever shows up.

It's a gloomy morning here also and it's supposed to rain off n on for days!:(The temps lately average around 60's n 50's, which is normal for Oct.

I hate to do it, but I'm gonna have to bring the bird feeders in for a few days! I enjoy watching them out my dining room window. My recliner is situated so that I look to the left to watch tv ( thankfully I have a streaming box!) and to the right to watch the birds. And I've finally figured out how to foil the damm squirrels! ( It took me all summer!)

Which is eons faster than anyone else! Although my avi cat, gone these many years, did help, since he was known to catch them in the trees. Yeah, he was as good branch to branch as any squirrel. They were surprised.

So, you going to share the secret? :)

Well, I can't take credit for the concept .. a contributor to the Ryobi tool DIY website had one he made and I just stole the idea and tweaked it some .. just some old 2x4's ..

RYOBI NATION - 3D Rustic Wooden Flag

I definitely like yours better. Didn't know you could get a 2 x 4 to bend like that. And I think it looks better not torched.

Still it took a very skilled craftsman to accomplish creating this one . . . Very nice ! ! !

    AND - I agree with @Janet H much better looking without all that "torching" . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Thanks .. no bending involved, each 2x4 cut using a template to rough shape, cut using band saw / clamp the whole she-bang together and then hand carve it using an angle grinder with a wood carving disk / carve in stars with chisel / unclamp / stain, paint, glue / clamp again / seal and do a couple poly clear coats ..

Mike and anyone else that knows tools will know what I'm talking about .. :)

Count me in, I know most tools. Quite a process.

Sure! I have four very large slightly curved yellow disks with hooks, top n bottom. I have dble. poles so two of them are attached from the top of the poles to the "squirrel baffle" below the feeders and two of them are attached to the one bird feeder, on the bottom ring where the birds perch...they're high enough from the ground that the damm squirrels can't jump on them.
