Good morning. We're back to milder temps.

Anise, your picture of the black cat reminds me of when my sister got her 3-legged black cat. It had been awhile since she'd had to have her beloved Jill put to sleep and she decided she needed another cat. It was near Halloween when she called her vet about it. They said they had a kitten, but they usually would never adopt out any black cat near Halloween, but knowing her she could come in and meet her. Evidently the kitten had been injured and they had to remove her front leg. It was love at first sight and she's had "lily" ever since. Lily doesn't know she only has 3 legs. They've been very happy together for several years now. It's pretty sad to think that there would be any danger to finding a home for a black cat at Halloween.

Morning all.

Still moderate temps here, although set to change soon. Yesterday was constant drizzle, so felt a lot cooler than it was. And just heavy and persistent enough that outside work wasn't in the cards. No big deal, the yard debris isn't going anywhere ;)

Good afternoon! :)

The man and son-in-law drove up to Jax earlier to the vet hospital so that Gussy(their dog) can have his stitches removed.....poor baby has such a sweet disposition, and is acclimating well. (had his hind leg amputated).

The weather here has been good but of course I had to put a sweater on, since it reached the 60's......hey, our blood is thinner here in Florida!!

Anyway, getting ready to prepare the boys a late lunch/early dinner cause, no doubt, their appetites will be in the very healthy range when they get back around 3ish.....so off I go......

Today It was good to be old and disabled, although there was a somewhat short line (told later by friends - it was only a 30-40 min wait), I was able to go pass everyone else in line . . . Handed over mail-in ballot (changed mind, since they throw out ballots with signatures they question), that they promptly used a big black marker on to X/Cancel, and then handed "Me" new 2 page ballot . . . ALL DONE . . . EASY - PEASY . . .

Now, since i voted, if there was only a way to "block" all the ADS . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Ours will be dropped off today. WA has been only vote by mail (or drop box) for years. I like the drop boxes, even though the postage is paid. That way only the poll workers see my signature on the outer envelope. And we do have a lot of OFFICIAL drop boxes, with the emphasis being both on official and lots. Yeah, we here have it figured out. :)

Yeah, there ought to be a setting to skip political ads once one has voted... but there are enough drug ads one should be able to find something that works... please?!

If 2020 has not been one of the worst years ever, to put the icing on the cake, Neil deGrasse Tyson says ::

Neil deGrasse Tyson says asteroid could hit day before election

Why not .. I guess nothing surprises me anymore ..

    Good morning,

Thought I'd pop in before getting ready for bowling this morning.

We're in the mid 70s and again, 95% chance of rain is forecasted. I'd call that more than a chance.......looks like it's gonna come down any minute now.
Hope each of you has a fine day! :)

Good morning. Just a fly by. Had to get fasting blood work done this morning and shortly we're headed to the crackpractor. Then we're headed to our daughter's house. Brian's mom is visiting from FL. She hasn't seen her grandsons since before the lock down so we haven't seen her either. We're looking forward to a nice visit.

    Hola .. :(

There's talk of a new restaurant / bar indoor lockdown coming due to Covid case increases .. no body is going to be wanting to eat outdoors with Old Man Winter knocking ..

So, I hit Cracker Barrel yesterday evening .. country fried steak (which is really a chicken fried steak) .. mashed potatoes / gravy .. pinto beans .. mac & cheese .. cornbread muffins with some apple butter ..

Employees I talked to were preparing for a possible layoff .. again ..

Seems that the more folk who defy public safety logic, the greater the spread. Doh.

    Hola .. :(

This morning, I decided to have breakfast and coffee at a Mom & Pop place I sometimes frequent .. the buzz was all around an impending shutdown for eateries / bars, etc .. and, being that I pretty much live in the Red Belt, it was all about the Governor has no power to shut down anything and neither does the Health Dept ..

Well, I don't know the legalities of it all, but I don't think there is any conspiracy involved .. the numbers are the numbers .. logic would say, if the numbers are on the rise, that's not a good sign, what should we do to protect the general populace .. ??

Of course, around here, the ongoing theory is people are not really dying from Covid in the high numbers, it's that the Medical Industrial Complex is simply marking even non-Covid deaths as being Covid .. and, people believe it ..

During the last shutdown, some independent places stayed open in defiance of the order .. they were not punished, that I know of, in any substantive way .. chains and franchises did abide ..

In my area, we still have a good portion of folks that are non-maskers .. places have given up trying to get them to mask up, simply because of the blow-back these folks throw out when asked to follow the clearly posted rules .. a minimum wage employee is not and should not, be an enforcer ..

As well, jobs go begging .. there is hardly a place that does not have a Help Wanted sign .. and, I just don't understand it .. I guess folks are just choosing to stay home and are still collecting unemployment ..

I find it a bit... odd... that people claim masks are a political statement, but Health and Fire regs have mandated room capacity for years, and that's not a problem. Seat belts are required to be used in most States, also not "political."

Public health is, well, public. Striving (hopefully) to provide the greatest good to the greatest number. Me, well, there's a lot of "society" that I appreciate, and I don't live as an off the grid hermit. If I want the benefits of society (electricity, water, grocery stores, etc), then I may need to occasionally do things that benefit society more than just me.

While there are times and places where I think the posted speed limit is too low, I (generally ;) ) try to keep close to it. Another public safety "thing" that isn't politicized.

Then again, if we could all get the exotic socialized medicine that Trump got, it might not matter...
