RIP Jerry Jeff Walker .. at 78 ..

Back in the day, when I was still active, I set up and ran sound and light for Mr. Walker on more than one occasion .. he was a gracious, humorous and down to Earth guy .. his musical legacy stretched back to the 1960's Folk scene .. and, I would consider him one of Country Music's original outlaws .. he had a unique and funny stage persona ..

He'd always bring the crowd to a big cheer / sing a long with this one ::

Good afternoon/morning all. I hope that everyone is having a good day.
I received some bad news yesterday. My Grandmother passed yesterday. She was 101 and earlier this year she did beat covid. She lead a long and blessed life. I am not sure about making the drive as that is a long time for me to be sitting in a car.

So sorry to hear this Diver ... best wishes and condolences to you and your family. Sounds like a strong women to make it to 101 to say nothing of beating Covid.

Jerry, let me encourage you to make the trip .. for various reasons, I missed more than one funeral that I regretted very much later on .. it's not only an opportunity to pay your last respects, but affords a chance to probably connect with others in your Family ..

My condolences ..

@clnire wow, that is so sad about Issa. And I couldn't agree more Nermal that 2020 officially has been an awful year.

@Diver9543 I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. She certainly didn't look like she was 101 years old. I agree with Willie, if you can manage it you should try to go even if you take twice as long to get there. You might regret not going later.

Good morning. Misty rain here this morning.

Since the daytime temps have dropped the leaves have turned in earnest and are dropping like crazy. Unfortunately we've had wind so a lot of leaves have already dropped. It's not going to be the gorgeous Fall like we've sometimes had when it's calm and quiet and the trees turn colors at once.

When they built this development they planted maple trees along the roads. They're different kinds though because some have already dropped their leaves and some have just turned. There's a couple that have turned a beautiful golden red color that looks like the tree is ablaze when the sun hits it.

I peeled 5 lbs of apples yesterday to make 2 apple crisps from orchard apples. Delicious! One goes into the freezer and the other one is just waiting to add to our weight. But apples are healthy for you right? Could make a nice breakfast right? And add some vanilla ice cream because milk is good for me too right?

    Good morning! :)

No rain in our forecast today, but again, tomorrow it is a sort of promise by the weathermen.

Lots of apples; lots of apples..........so made a cobbler yesterday for dessert for company that is coming this evening, and wudda know, da man couldn't resist, so have maybe 2 portions left, so will be making another one (or two) today with different recipes........although I am partial to the pecan crisp. He could stand gaining a few lbs., so didn't get too upset! ;)
