Well the latest craziness in Pennsylvania is, if I leave the state I can't come back in unless I've had a negative virus test within 72 hrs of re-entering the state. Or I can self-quarantine for 14 days upon re-entering the state. Same goes for any out of state folks coming into the state

What the heck! Are the State Troopers going to put up road blocks on every road that crosses the state line. Then pull people over and do what? Follow them home and make sure they don't leave the house for 14 days if the don't have a certificate of proof that they've had a negative test pithing the last 72 hours.

Katie lives a 1/2 mile over the Pennsylvania / Delaware border. I guess I'll have to sneak in and out of her state on the backroads for Thanksgiving dinner next Thursday.

Hola .. :)

From Florida, back in March ::

Florida police are setting up highway checkpoints to enforce the state's coronavirus quarantine. Offenders could be jailed for 60 days.

Good morning, all. I hope everyone is doing well this morning. Two days working on the farm have me stove-up this morning. I'm now waiting on my pills to kick in so I can at least walk to and from the coffee pot. lol
It has been said that the easiest way to find an item is to buy a replacement. When we had the ice storm a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't find the single mantle propane lamp when we lost power. Both of us searched the house, garage, and workshop to no avail. Last night on the way back from the farm I stopped at Academy and bought another propane lantern. When I got home I went out to the garage to get a lantern base. Not only did I find the lantern base but I also found the single mantle Coleman lantern. Does it never fail? I'm not sure if I will make it to the farm today, I will have to wait and see, however, I think I will just relax at home and plan on going tomorrow. Take care all and stay safe.

Doesn't quite work ... but this is what popped into my head.

... even drove the backroads so I wouldn't get 'quarantined' ....

Hola .. :)

Just a great George Lowell tune .. fell in love with it the first time I heard it all those years ago .. this is one you can spin up driving along and just belt it out, unashamed ..

Good evening. I started a post this morning, got distracted and never sent it.

I thought today was going to be relaxing, but due to this Covid mess our T-day plans have changed and now both kids families will be coming here. So, today I did a grocery shopping trip. Got all the ingredients for the side dishes and never even looked for the turkey breast I wanted to get now that we're having more people eating. The store was pretty crowded today and I'm sure it will be again tomorrow when I make the trip back there.

On a positive note it was a gorgeous day today. It was 64, but felt warmer. The skies were clear so I'm hoping to get a good look at the ISS at 6:17 - unless I forget to go out and look for it in time.

Crowded? I had to stop at Walmart a couple of days ago. There were lines out the door and way, way down the side of a really big building. After 7pm, it was mostly gone. Naturally, the store wasn't overly full, but the checkout lines were almost as long.

Good morning. Whew! Spent 2-1/2 hours on the phone with my sister this morning. Her daughter and husband just bought a house big enough for my sister to have her own living area so they'll be selling both their current houses. Good news because we'll all feel better knowing my sister is not living alone. She'll still have her privacy, but have her daughter close if she needs anything.

Ugh! Today I have to go back to the store to try to find a turkey breast that I forgot to get yesterday. Our store hasn't had the lines outside for quite some time now. People are pretty good about keeping their distance and everyone wears masks. I use their app on my phone to scan items as I put them into my reusable bags so all I have to do is scan the bar code on my way out to pay. No need to stand in the check out lines which sometimes snake down the aisles. These days I try to do 1 big trip a month or so and just quick trips for milk, bread etc in between.

I read the other day that Wally World (and others) are back to limiting the number of people in the store. May just be here in WA, didn't say. So, back to long lines to get in.

Hola .. :)

I believe the latest directive around these parts is 25% capacity on Retail .. in door dining curtailed .. serious discussions on fines, with a few municipalities having initiated fines for no mask, etc ..

What undermines this effort is the out and out admission from the 5 / 0 that they don't have the manpower nor the will to enforce .. which, is quite true .. it may be coming to requiring a Rent a Cop stationed at the door demanding no mask, no entrance .. I don't know, but there are still a good cadre of folks around here that go maskless ..

Black Friday in store sales will either have folks wrapped around the block or thin crowds, who knows .. ?? The Big Box stores should just give out a coupon good for 48 hours or so for the high discount goods, IMO, and hold the goods for pickup or at least something like that .. what I do know is, I won't be standing in line for anything ..

Although I have not yet witnessed it, there are local reports of TP shortages, etc, much like the earlier part of this dreadful year ..

I decided to get some Chinese take out yesterday evening, so, I drove over to my favorite spot since I really did not want to call in an order nor do I like these "in-app" orderings .. they are allowed a walk in order .. I placed my order, shrimp fried rice, no peas, no carrots, no onions, 2 eggs, please, side order of crab rangoon .. and the very attractive young woman struck up a short conversation with me, essentially about how difficult it's been for them, a family owned business .. I was sympathetic, left a good tip .. the phone did not ring nor did anyone else walk in to place an order for the 20 minutes or so while I was there ..

They did an excellent job ..

Support your local eateries .. the ones that local people own and run ..

I think I have about 5 TP double roll packs of 18, so, I really don't need TP .. but, I've got a $5.00 Amazon Prime credit, so I nosed around .. saw a lot of "Temporarily out of stock" on the stuff, so, maybe people are buying it up .. o_O

I stopped into our local Giant grocery store the other day and both shelves with paper towels and tp were empty. The store I went to yesterday still had them on the shelves, but there was a sign up that only 1 pkg per shopper was allowed. Fortunately I've got 2 of the big pkgs of tp and 1 of paper towels so we're good for a long while. Also, I always have enough food in the cupboards and freezer to keep us going for weeks. I would just get worried if I couldn't get milk and eggs.

Good morning Anise. Love the cat funny.

It's warmer here this morning. It should be a good time to clean up the final things on the deck. Then I'll probably clean out the fridge to get ready for T-day.

Hi Janet!

But I just have to say that you n Mike wear me out and I have to go rest awhile after reading and then imagining doing all the things that you two do every day!

Good morning everyone .

Woke up to snow on the ground and still coming down.

Since it's so close to Thanksgiving I've been thinking...over the years it's almost always that the mothers/ grandmothers and g-grandmothers always do the cooking, for years n years... isn't it time that the kids n grandkids take over and do it for them for a change?

( and no, I haven't done the cooking in years...tho I HAVE helped...occasionally :p)
